I don't get the complaint about the car count. GT3 launched with almost similar car count, didn't hear anyone complain back then.
The car count I understand because it comes after GT5/GT6 but...

How people says it has way less offline content than previous games is ridiculous to be fair... of that it is missing single-player content... the only thing missing to be fair is the B-Spec mode which not all GTs had.

GT League did has less events than GT5/GT6 but it has more Challenge/Mission.

It is a close call to say which one has more offline content without go menu to menu counting because GTS is pretty rich in offline content.

I can even say it has better single-player content than previous GTs.

How much of a grind is getting cars ? Don't want to invest days of play to just get one not that good car.
It is less grind than typical GT games... you can win a car every day driving few miles.
Challenges, Mission, Licenses give you cars too.
You receive a lot of money so you can buy a lot of cars.

I have a bit more than 30 hours of single player and I already have near 100 cars (I checked now 50 of them where purchased).

The single-player content is great. Different from previous entries but underrated IMO. I had a lot of fun with it.

It drives, looks and sounds like a dream.

If you play the driver school and missions, and then go into the GT League stuff, you'll get a very solid amount of playtime. Once you've done that, despite your objection, I really REALLY encourage you to play online. If you do all of the content listed before you go online, you'll be more than prepared and you'll find it considerably more fun than trolling low level AI cars (this isn't just a problem with GT).

Online is leaps and bounds more fun, challenging, and gripping than any amount of offline content could ever hope to be at this point.

I would buy the game if I were you. The game is great, and it has a lot of single player content. Much more so now than at the start. In fact, there is much more to do in single player than there is in multiplayer. By the time I complete the game in full (I have everything done besides a trophy in every arcade event), I will have 60+ hours easy into the single player. Yes, you are limited to "only" 200 cars. But I have 700 cars in Forza and I used maybe 50? GT Sport, the cars they chose are VERY selective and with good reason. I haven't even done everything I can in the campaign. Livery editor, untouched. Scapes? OMG, I haven't even started on making some great photos yet. Tuning and customizing cars? I have yet to touch that yet too.

The game is packed with features, content, campaign and fun IMO.

The car count I understand because it comes after GT5/GT6 but....

The thing about the car count.. I think that's largely to the work needed for the way more detailed graphics and Polyphony not using PS2 assets anymore. GT6 had a round 1200 cars but the consistency of the models were lacking, some of the cars looked hideous. Compare that to GTS, every single car looks ridiculously detailed. The next GT games will really benefit and build from GTS car list.

Yeap I'm not complaining but I understand when somebody says it has few cars... even so right now it has more than 250,
I do think PD did the right choice to work only with new detailed models.

I'm surprised at the number of complaints in this thread. Single Player content has been addressed and they keep adding more content every month.

It's a great game and I've only put about 10 hours into the offline modes.

Any corroboration on the graphics downgrade claim? Or file under "don't believe your eyes GT Graphics are fake" meme?

Some people are too hung up on the game not being like the old GT games, forgetting all the flaws those old games had and fail to see GT Sport as a great game in it's own right.

I loved the old GT games and wasn't sure about the new direction but I think GT Sport is the best game in the series because it gets rid of the jank and baggage, replacing it with quality.

GT Sport is a great game with plenty of Singleplayer/Multiplayer content, it's a bargain at the sale price atm.

I will probably get flamed for this, but I find it to be the best GT yet in my experience. My experience starts with GT4 though.

Googling doesn't yield any results, other than some posts from april 2018 talking about the cars not looking as good as they do in garage mode. That seems pretty normal to me. If there was an obvious downgrade there would be a ton of posts about it already.

I feel like it's the best one. If you take a good look at what's actually missing compared to the older games, it's quite subtle. If they could do things like gategate tuning options behind a store menu and Thai the old license progression into the different race classe... changes like that.... You could have the GT campaign of old.

The old GT campaign that the games used to lose points for not changing. :/

I can't tell myself but there are some complain and pictures in GTPlanet after the 1.23... it seems related to the livery editor decals.

You won't... these that are playing the game have the same feelings.

I found that several of the vocal critics are not only playing the game, but playing it and enjoying it regularly. They just happen to hold a standard that the game doesn't reach in some areas. There are also plenty of regular detractors who are acting out an inferiority complex, but it's not everybody.

Yeap it can be true but some guys saying the original single-player content was 10-11 hours to finish is full of bullshit... so he never played it... the endurance missions alone take more than that to finish (even if you are the best driver ever because the endurances at attached to time and not laps)... that without talk about the Circuit Experience where some tracks have around than 1 hour if content without any fail.

No.

It's really average and for a GT game it has so little meat on it's bones. The tracks and garage are pathetic.

Oh I can see. They look a little more compressed. Is it just in the editor or everywhere?
From what I understand it is decals you created/added from Livery Editor... so it is in everywhere since it is using a Livery Editor decal... the original decals didn't surfer from that.

But like I said I can't say myself because I changed and my console is on my home (I live and work in different cities now and just go back to home on weekends).

Does it only afect the old liveries or also afect new uploaded decals? I dont use liveries on my cars, so no wonder i didnt noticed any downgrade :P

It took me a full afternoon to complete Nurburgring Circuit experience with all gold trophies. And yeah, i have been playing the game for a month, my ingame clock is marking 60h (30h driving) i have been only doing single player stuff, im still half way in the Amateur league of the GT League mode as the more i advance the longer each race gets. Everething else in the other models i completed with gold.

I have a side question, sorry for piggybacking off this thread, but could someone link me to how I can get my G27 to work on PS4? I'm getting a bunch of different answers when I google.

It is basically the best racing game on consoles right now... it got more updates that imo add nothing (I did not play the new GT League)... it is really great in Sport Mode and the original Campaign mode holds you for 30 or more hours.

The cars and tracks are absolutely stunning and that is the best part of the updates... there are over 250 cars and 3 mores tracks now.

Forza says hi

That exactly why I said it is the best racing games on console by a good margin... others racing game actually needs to catch after GTS evolved racing games on consoles.

iRacing is probably the best comparison with GTS but it is on PC... a lot of ideias used in GTS are presents in that racer too.
GT Sport doesn't even come close to iRacing, PC2, Asseto, Race Pro and the like as far as physics and simulation. GT Sport is still a simcade like Forza.

It's easily the best racing game on consoles right now and it looks and plays great.

Sport Mode is a breath of fresh air for online racing, and it has a plethora of single player content which will only get better and better.

Got paid and looking for something to buy. I was put off by the lack of single player and content at launch. And how different it was compared to old games. Have things changed for the better or worse?

I don't play racing games.

Some of my customers bought it at launch and were disappointed because they were expecting GT 7.
After the December and January (?) updates they all concur that the game is now awesome and most of the single player GT experience has been captured.

Yeah it's good. The only thing I'd really like is more tracks, but we seem to be getting a new track a month, if not a couple of new layouts for existing tracks. I've seen the full track map of St. Croix - there's at least 6 more layouts in there not counting reverse.

Absolutely pick it up now. There is no better time to dive in as times have been reset for things after the physics patch. I bet they will continue to tweak things, but there is enough there for anyone atm. Plus you get all the history and polished menus with excellent music.

There really is no better experience in game menu extras than GTS IMHO. Just reading about the car manufacturer history listening to the incredibly varied and tasteful soundtrack is fun. Plus all the scapes and liveries too... GTS is an underrated experience at this point compared to its ratings at launch.

I grabbed it on special and I've had a blast, and I've primarily played the single player content.
While I may miss buying some 90s hatchback and turboing the hell out of it, the rate at which you get cars, and still having the ability to tune them to your liking (provided you're not playing in competitive online events where tuning is auto balanced) scratches most of that itch for me. You should grab it, especially if the sale is still going. GT, I feel, is still best in class for sim racers.

lol Hey man you can't say you love racing without knowing some of the history IMO, and no other dev puts as much work into a classy presentation. Not even close.

It's just another cherry on top. The racing happens to be best in class on a pad for me.

lol I was just being a cheeky bugger.

I, personally, think the racing is great but can't stand the *very serious* racing enthusiast stuff in the game. Making you watch two videos and signing a form to say you agree to the rules before playing online. All the history lesson things that pop up on the menus. Can all get in the bin as far as I'm concerned. I'm no racing/car enthusiast though. I just want to bomb around a track in a mini.

This is the main thing that is still missing from GTS for me. Part of old GT games to me was all the 'regular' cars at the start and tuning them up to silly degrees (even if I didn't know what I doing - just watching the numbers go up!) and racing them. GTS seems very focused on the racing spec stuff and special cars.
