You can relax, OP. I've informed the King of Video Games and he assures me that your butter situation is the highest priority.

As an old fart.. next gen isn't an Instagram tickle.

I can be in awe of a game when I see something new.

Playing games since 1982. Am bored. Next gen needs to be something

Left/ right = butter

Is a start.
I don't know what this says. I do not really know what I just read. I don't understand what you're saying. I'm not receiving your intent through your words. What I'm saying is.....I don't get it.

So you want less motion blur, which is exasperated by quick panning. I get it (though it took some work).

Higher fps certainly helps but the screen you're playing on is even more important for this. The majority of modern TV screens have a heap of motion blur. Motion clarity is an illusive beast that has not been treated with priority for a while in the TV arena because most people don't seem to be super sensitive to it.
If that's what you're after you're better off using a high end PC monitor with blur reduction than a TV screen.

I hear the PG279Q is pretty good for balancing picture quality with motion clarity.

I ain't touching Halo Infinite unless the corners are thoroughly buttered.

This right here is my favorite post on Era in while.

I think without motion blur, moving the camera around at sub 60fps (which will most likely still be the case next gen) will look like a jittery mess

I'm only on page 2 but I'm literally sitting in my bedroom cracking up. My god, I needed this.

More on topic I really wish I could help you OP.

No way. Pick any game on a console. Walk forward. Perseive smooth FPS.

Stand still on a console game. Hold left or right and boom.

Blurtastic

Next gen for me. Solves this

Variable refresh TV's with console capability as well, will eliminate the imagry spasaming when you turn the camera. As long as the Tv refresh can run in sync with the games fps, the 30 hz game will stay sharp like the 60 fps game. I'm piqued for the next gen hardware, as i perfer the feel and more languid presentation rate of 30 fps games - just without the image quality taking a severe hit when the camera changes angle too fast.

They don't need to be 60 fps for me. Variable refresh, adaptive sync and i'll be set. You'll see.

Ok chaps,

The challenge is. Any console made todate. Hold the d-pad or analogue stick left or right and MASSIVE BLUR.

60 or 6000 FPS walking forwards on a console fine. Please can I have butter when I stand still and look left?

Everything spams when you stand still and observe.

For me. Next gen is... Butter in the cornering. You know what I mean so no BS snipes.

Thoughts.

Drunk thread? If you want 60 fps get a PC. It's not happening for consoles.

With everybody stroking their cactus over 4K resolution, I'm sure the PS5 will be able to do 4k30 and 1080p60. If it can't do 1080p 60fps then the console should just never come out.

That's not how it works. FPS depends on CPU, resolution depends on GPU. You can't make a 4K/30 title that is CPU limited run at 60 fps at lower resolution. You would have to cut physics and other stuff in that mode.

Is this a thread where OP basically wants Vsync? And less pop ups? (spams in=spawns in)

You mean those nintendo 64 graphics when you move the camera in directions? As in motion blur. Or fps slow down?

There is all kind of butter in corner for Forza. Not jutter or blur when you whip the camera around, it's lovely.

Lads.

This is a console debate.

So.. in my humble opinion. I would love to have a console (lazy gamer) where looking left or right standing still is smooth and beautiful.

Right now it's ass.

It's way better then the games from 1980 but..

Forwards and back right now is sweet.

Left/ right is ass.

IMO.

Thoughts
Look left or right. Your eyes do the same thing.

Can I get a next-gen brain that is butter?

EDIT: But seriously, motion blur is important. It can get overbearing at times, like in the Dark Souls remaster which you mentioned last time, but it's way more noticeable when it isn't there.

I still remember how cheap the 48fps version of The Hobbit looked without the natural motion blur you get at a typical 24fps >.<

So one thing worth asking is if you're playing on 1080i instead of 1080p. Of course the screen blurs more when you start moving the view left and right due to deinterlacing.

I think it's not about FPS or motion blur, I think OP wants to have more puzzle solving in games. Similar to what he's doing right now.

Is this what happens when you watch one digitalfoundry video and thing you're a graphics rendering expert?

Wow, before some of you guys go making fun of an OP, maybe look into the issue to see if it's a real thing? Some of y'all are really acting ignorant in here, poking fun at OP when you have no idea what he's talking about. He is not referring to motion blur. What he is referring to is judder, the phenomenon of frames being left on a screen longer than they should be due to the FPS of said content not matching the refresh rate of the screen in question. It is also much more prevalent on TV's such as plasmas without any inherent motion blur.

Here is what Any Questions is referring to: https://youtu.be/CuEZIJDEQyo

Here is an old thread from AV S forum on the matter as well. It manifests in games as a sort of double image. https://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-o...ts-frame-doubling.html#/topics/1107325?page=3

How will a new generation of consoles change that issue?
But a new tv and new console both supporting freesync might help with that?

Well one thing we definitely know. Assburgers of ERA are not butter fried.

On topic: I can't believe it's not butter.
Panning the camera sideways is more like old warm milk.

I wish more developers didn't go for the graphics porn and instead put more effort in to performance.

It's nice that you're trying to learn a second language op. Doing way better than I am on that front

However I couldn't understand a single post you've made in this thread.

If what you want is less motion blur, I can agree with that. But that's not directly tied to the fps of a game onturning.

He's talking about the inherent blur in sample-and-hold displays, i.e. display motion blur.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_motion_blur

Use your noggins and try to apply some reading comprehension.

Your television is the cause of the blur when turning the camera around. This will never be solved until new display technology is created.
