EA says it was a mistake (they thought they didn't have the right to use his name). Patch is coming
Sounds dumb enough to be believable.

They also removed a verse about Kaepernick from a song in Madden 2018.

With them trying to push that anthem rule, I am sure their ratings will be worse than last years. For people who are still onboard after the last several years of racism, misogyny, and brain damage, I very much doubt that this will be the final straw for too many people. But ratings are down, and they are down for a reason.

"bad enough @Kaepernick7 still not signed, but now they even edit his name out in this year's @EAMaddenNFL during @BigSean verse, smh"
Holy shit, they're trying to erase him from existence. The NFL is evil, glad I quit watching years ago"bad enough @Kaepernick7 still not signed, but now they even edit his name out in this year's @EAMaddenNFL during @BigSean verse, smh"
So what's the consensus here:
1. NFL directed EA To do this cuz they mad at Kaepernick.
2. EA did it on purpose because they don't like Kaepernick.
3. Dumb mistake around not understanding the legality of including him in the game.
Either somebody at the NFL directed them to do it, or EA did it on their own because they thought the NFL wanted them to do it and they don't want to rock the boat and jeopardize their exclusive license in the future. So what's the consensus here:

100%. Case closed.you know what? they didn't give some fluffy vague pr statement subtly dodging any kind of accountability and actually said the words "we made an unfortunate mistake" and "we messed up" and they explicitly apologized to Colin, YG, and Big Sean
is it the truth? who knows, but as far as statements from big corporations go it's solid
still though, fuck the NFL and fuck Roger Goodell

Ya how could anyone like someone who protests police brutality what a jerk rightIt's silly they cut his name from the song and they are correcting it, but personally I don't care for the guy and glad he's out of the NFL for his antics.
Maybe people should stop buying Madden and stop watching the NFL.
President bends a knee to Putin due to corruption. NFL leadership bends a knee to the President out of cowardess. Yet we punish a black athlete for peacefully protesting injustice.
Fuck the NFL! Don't care what your political beliefs are. This is cowardess. Not supporting the product until there's a new commissioner with different values.
Madden has sucked for a long time but football is still great. I don't see why EA cutting Kaepernicks name from a song makes you think the world should stop watching football. It's ok to disagree with certain aspects of things while still enjoying them.
You don't see the connection between the NFLs continued blackballing of Kaep and this EA debacle?
I see it as typical EA incompetence. I think EA was trying to avoid a lawsuit and there was a serious lack of communication. I do not think the NFL pressured EA to remove the lyric.
They knew it would cause controversy, why even include the song then
It's possible that EA pre-empted any request by the NFL and removed without any feedback. I think that's like in fact. However it comes from the NFLs egregious treatment of Kaep and their hardline stance against protest as a whole.
Also, the actual product they're putting out is increasingly boring anyway.

1. NFL directed EA To do this cuz they mad at Kaepernick.
2. EA did it on purpose because they don't like Kaepernick.

Can no one accept that it was simply human error? Does everything have to be a fucking conspiracy?
He kneeled during a shitty song to protest a very serious issue in our country that's way bigger than your stupid ball game. Get the fuck over it.It's silly they cut his name from the song and they are correcting it, but personally I don't care for the guy and glad he's out of the NFL for his antics.
I know right? Leave the politics at home we got a game of football to play!Ya how could anyone like someone who protests police brutality what a jerk right

Thank you for your service. The cause of social injustice and racial profiling is a legit issue and sadly it does happen in BOTH directions and needs to be addressed. Not on the NFL stage, Not hijacking the national anthem and offending us.
maybe someday your kids will grow up and serve a country and if they happen to parish doing it you might change your tune on what's acceptable and disgracful.
There are plenty of other ways to get the message out that would gather more support.
As Kaepernick later explained, his protest had nothing to do with the military. He was protesting police violence against minorities. After talking with Army vet and former Seahawks long snapper Nate Boyer, Kaepernick decided that, in order to show respect for those who have served, he would no longer sit during the anthem. Boyer suggested a new form of protest…
Colin should use this in this case against the NFL since it's definitely the NFL that's doing this and not EA.
A Shitty song?? Really that's not flame bait bannable offense here? But I assume since I'm goi g to call you out as a piece of shit for your comment on America I'll be reprimanded. I fought for this country for 4 years served time during the Gulf wars and Panama.
My fellow soilders risked their lives for this country so pardon me if me and millions of others are offended that a rich millionaire who works for an organization decides to disrespect both his profession his country and millions of others and some who gave their lives for our freedoms. Yeah I got a problem with him he's a pile of shit.

Yeah you really haven't kept yourself in the loop on this to know that an army vet actually told him kneeling is the respectful thing to do.
Nice try though dude!
Sure bud I talked to an African American who said it was cool for me to use the N word as well. Guess what millions of others would punch me In The nuts for saying it.
I do t because it's disrepctful and I have followed this forever so good try bud.
This. Extremely unlikely EA as a corporate entity has any opinion on the matter, but that they would rather not rock the boat with the NFL would be why it would be on EA and not the NFL.Either somebody at the NFL directed them to do it, or EA did it on their own because they thought the NFL wanted them to do it and they don't want to rock the boat and jeopardize their exclusive license in the future.
The legality excuse is complete bullshit.
Last I checked, standing for the anthem isn't a sign of respect for soldiers. It has nothing to do with you. Source: My entire family, from the time this country was formed, has been soldiers. You know how I respect soldiers? By individually respecting them when I meet them. By observing their sacrifices on veterans day and memorial day. Not by standing for the national anthem at a sporting event.A Shitty song?? Really that's not flame bait bannable offense here? I would guess 3 - some low level worker thought they couldn't include him in any fashion. So what's the consensus here:
