It should've been there since launch instead of 1 2 switch. I got a DS because of WW Touched, it made good use of the DS' new capabilities, something fresh and unique at the time. What better game to demonstrate the new motion controls and joycons? Yet they make another one for the soon to be discontinued, at its end of life 3DS smh. This means we won't see a true WW on the Switch for years.

I mean there wasn't even a WarioWare on the 3DS until its EOL phase so it'll probably still be a while. Hasn't been a Wario Land since the original Wii either.

Sure but they just made Gold which heavily features games from Touched that wouldn't really work on Switch (+microphone games included). I'm sure Switch is up next.

The switch is one year and a half old. The 3DS took seven years to get one. Weird priorities.

It's crazy to think that Nintendo keeps releasing games for a system that still consistently sells units and makes money! It's almost like they run a business or something!

Pretty sure you could do "It's insane %FRANCHISE% still isn't on Switch yet" with a number of Nintendo franchises at this point.

What's more insane is the fact it took seven and a half years for WarioWare to hit 3DS

This. I love my 3DS but that system is probably one of the safest libraries Nintendo has ever produced. Lots of good stuff but very little that was pushing the envelope the same way the GBA and DS did.

Hold on, lemme get the script...

Ahem

The 3DS family of systems continue to sell well as the Switch currently isn't at a price point friendly to younger children and lower income families. It only makes sense to continue supporting a platform that has dozens of millions of active users and a large possibly consumer base, especially when doing it with relatively low-impact remakes/compilations.

While I agree with you that WarioWare could have shown off the Joy-Cons well, the series isn't necessarily THAT popular, and is also relatively crass, so I can understand why they'd choose a more neutral, non-IP based tech demo game to show them off. Also you seem to forget that Touched and Twisted, on two different generations, came out within months of each other. There's always a chance they're working on one, and Gold is just testing the waters to see if there's any interest.

It would be nice to have, but there are lots of titles more insane to be missing than WarioWare.

Give it time, Warioware will come. Nintendo always seems to have that one "family-friendly fun" game per year with their consoles. Last year we got 1-2 Switch, this year Super Mario Party. I can see Warioware being one of these types of games next year.

It'll come in time. 3DS only got one at the end of its life, mostly since some of those minigames can't be done on Switch.

Just play the upcoming Mario Party really drunk and you essentially have your WarioWare switch game.

We got a metroid game on 3DS and we're getting one on Switch. We got a Mario Party on 3DS and now we're getting one on the switch. We're getting a Luigi's Mansion and Warioware on 3DS, you can see where I'm going with this. The whole "we're putting our IP on mobile in order to advertise them with the hopes that people migrate over", that seems to be the plan here.

Video Games
nothing about it is insane.

what is bizarre is that it took 7 years to land on 3DS, not that we're barely into year 2 on Switch without one.

Buy Wario Ware Gold on 3DS and a new WW game will definitely appear on the Switch eventually.

Not really, the concept of Gold wouldn't work as well on Switch but there's still time- lots of it really- for a WarioWare game made specifically for the system. Not everything can be put on the system quickly as a priority.

Worse yet, they keep releasing Mario Party games, when they could just make a Wario Party which might actually be good!

I believe the reason it took so long to even reach the 3ds was because they were struggling to find a way to make it unique to the system. Twitsed was unique with it's specially designed cartidge, touched utilized the DS' touch screen, smooth moves made use of the. wii's unique motion capabilities, DIY had the creation gimmic, and snap utilized the DSI's camera. I guess the only way they saw to make the 3DS entry unique was to make it a compilation of almost everything created this far. Now that a 3DS entry has been completed, I feel the switch entry could either be an extension of gold (with more microgames from mooth moves) or they could emphasize a gimic like HD rumble or put more of an emphasis on party play wth split joy cons (similar to Mega Party Games on Game Cube)

Stop acting like Switch has been out for 5 years.

System came out last year, plenty of time for the series to make the Switch.

This topic is me but with the 3DS, it took 7 years for Wario Ware to come on it, man I missed it so much.

It's not absurd that the Switch doesn't have a WarioWare yet, but I'm literally droooling over the possibilities considering the ridiculous hardware features packed in(HD rumble, split gyro controls, IR camera and god knows what else is hidden in there)

In terms of nintendo party games it probably would of been dumb to release warioware on switch the same year as either 1 2 switch or mario party in my opinion.

Gold may have been in development when nintendo wasnt sure if the switch would succeed.

Game and Wario bombed hard in 2013. Wouldn't be shocked if that made Nintendo hesitant to use any of their usual "launch test IPs" like pilotwings, wario ware, etc

Once they release Rhythm Heaven Switch, work will start on WarioWare.

The 4chan rumor that first leaked Wario Ware Gold and got basically everything right (3DS, summer release, "best of" old microgames) also mentioned an all new Switch WW would be coming soon after.

Nintendo's released games in the series close to each other before (Touched and Twisted) so it wouldn't be the first time.

It's being developped as we speak by the secret teams at Nintendo, along with a new Rhythm Tengoku, and a new F-Zero, because of the merging of the outputs and all that stuff.

If it doesn't sell enough on 3DS, They'll shelve the serie for 20 years.

I swear the god the salt over the 3DS still getting software is immense.

Edit: Where's that "3DS dancing behind crying girl" gif when I need it...

Well OP, it's up to you and others that think like you(raises hand) to get the message across to Nintendo. Want them to stop making games for the 3DS? Then you've got to not buy the games they release. Because as much as it annoys me, I get entirely why games are getting released on the 3DS, it still prints money. Once it stops printing money, they're more likely to shift all development to the Switch. For my part, I'm annoyed as hell that they're porting Luigi's Mansion to the 3DS and not the Switch. Like, incredibly annoyed as it's one of my favorite games from my childhood and I'd love to have it on a platform that doesn't cramp my hands to play on and isn't a graphical mess. So I'm not going to buy it because I want the 3DS to be put to rest already, and I don't want to experience it on the 3DS regardless. I'd rather experience it via Dolphin where at least I'd get HD rendering, if anything.

It's only once Nintendo feels like they're losing out on money not putting things on the Switch over/alongside the 3DS that scenarios like your post and mine will stop being a thing. Until then, we just have to sit tight and wait. Maybe shoot a tweet making it clear to Nintendo they lost a sale that it's not on your preferred Nintendo platform? And if you wanna go bonkers(and have too much free time) you could always try organizing a petition to clearly communicate to Nintendo that you're frustrated with the 3DS titles releasing in late 2018 and beyond that aren't releasing on the Switch too. Good luck to ya if that's the route you choose though.
