Fargo's great.
Even it's worst season is better than 99% of other tv.

I can only hear his stand up voice when I think of him and that feels like an awful fit for fargo, but I'm definitely willing to give him a chance.
Definitely risky casting, but if they write specifically to him and his wheelhouse he could be a big surprise. Or it could end up like Vince Vaughn in True Detective, we'll see.
If this was any other show, I'd be skeptical.

I was a huge defender of season 3, but I'm not sure how much gas is left in the tank.

Wow. I love Fargo but this is kind of nuts. I hope it works out. The show hasn't let me down yet.
The third season wasn't as good as the first two, but it was still thoroughly enjoyable and well worth watching. Looking forward to seeing the other cast members; I'll be watching day one for sure.
Doesn't really matter. You can get a good performance out of anyone, on screen, if you play to their strengths, take your time, and have a good editor.

If anyone can make it work its Hawley. He seems to bring out the best performances from people.
Yes. They unfortunately tried to tie season 2 to 1 in the end, but each story is independant.

Season 3 wasn't up to standards imo, although the last few episodes were excellent. Can't wait for season 4!
Seasons 1-2 are excellent, must watch. Yes they are self contained, but have a title bit to do with each other. Do yourself a favor and enjoy, and be prepared for Martin freeman lol

Rock was great to me in the small dramatic role he had on Empire where he also played a crime boss
Season 3 of Fargo was uneven to me but there was a lot I liked about it. I still have to finish Season 2. I loved Season 1.

Season 2's still my favorite piece of television. They did a phenomenal job with it from an aesthetic perspective, with their shots and edits helping evoke a feeling of the era. Extremely excited to see them take this approach again.
Holy shit! The first season was amazing, but the second was easily one of the greatest things I'd ever seen. Excited for this one.
I did like the last film he directed/starred in, so yeah it's an interesting casting choice that i'm okay with.
