'Fargo' Season 4 Is Happening With Chris Rock Starring
Fargo creator Noah Hawley, as he promised, has found a date on his calendar and is moving forward with a fourth season of his Emmy-winning series today toplined by Chris Rock who'll play the head of a crime family. FX Networks and Productions CEO John Landgraf announced the news today at TCA.

Series EP Warren Littlefield told Deadline back in June that they have a city and year for season 4, and as unveiled today that's 1950, Kansas City, Missouri.

Essentially the locale will serve as the crossroads and collisions of two migrations, Italians coming from Italy and African Americans fleeing the south to escape Jim Crow, both fighting for a piece of the American dream as two controlling crime syndicates. They are at an uneasy peace controlling an alternate economy of exploitation, graft and drugs. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons.

Rock's character in order to prosper has surrendered his oldest boy to his enemy, and who must in turn raise his son's enemy as his own. Then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies. And everything changes.

Rock said in a statement, "I'm a fan of Fargo and I can't wait to work with Noah."

Does this mean S3 is finally gonna hit Hulu soon? I still haven't been able to watch it.

wtf that's a surprise. I actually thought s3 would be the last season, or at least there wouldn't be one for a good while. Hope we can get back to the quality of s1-2

I was a huge defender of season 3, but I'm not sure how much gas is left in the tank.

Still, interesting premise and lead, so we shall see.

The third season wasn't as good as the first two, but it was still thoroughly enjoyable and well worth watching. Looking forward to seeing the other cast members; I'll be watching day one for sure.

I'm surprised people haven't tried to use his old standup to 'ruin' him.

Hope this means we'll see a return to form after the very disappointing third season.

Huh? That's awesome I guess.

Season 3 wasn't up to standards imo, although the last few episodes were excellent. Can't wait for season 4!

Interesting.

Haven't had a chance to watch this show yet. Is each season self-contained?

Seasons 1-2 are excellent, must watch. Yes they are self contained, but have a title bit to do with each other. Do yourself a favor and enjoy, and be prepared for Martin freeman lol

Rock was great to me in the small dramatic role he had on Empire where he also played a crime boss

Season 3 of Fargo was uneven to me but there was a lot I liked about it. I still have to finish Season 2. I loved Season 1.

I'm optimistic about this; Rock is more talented an actor than his poor filmography suggests

Season 2's still my favorite piece of television. They did a phenomenal job with it from an aesthetic perspective, with their shots and edits helping evoke a feeling of the era. Extremely excited to see them take this approach again.

What a pleasant surprise. I thought the show was over. I disliked season 3 but I am happy to see that this sounds more like season 2. The premise already has me hooked.

Holy shit! The first season was amazing, but the second was easily one of the greatest things I'd ever seen. Excited for this one.

I did like the last film he directed/starred in, so yeah it's an interesting casting choice that i'm okay with.

I`m ready, Fargo has consistently been one of the best shows on TV.

And yes, that includes Season 3- Season 3 was amazing and just because it wasn't as good as the first two seasons doesn't mean its bad.

Is the consensus for fargo that season 2 is the best? Cause that was by and far my favorite season
