Chinese OEMs have been photoshopping the actual screen estate to the whole glass size in promotional material for years already, don't get your hopes up.

I have a Nexus 6P on Project Fi and I've tried to live with the degrading battery issue for as long as possible, but I'm at the end of my rope.

It's at the point where if I take it off external power/battery and do anything mildly exerting it'll last maybe 10 minutes at most.

Project Fi limits me to just a handful of phones, and I'm not super interested in spending more than $250 right now, so I'm wondering if there are any better options than just getting a Pixel used/refurb. Or maybe if the Pixel 3 will create enough cost pressure soon that I should hold out longer and just keep an external battery in my pocket at all times.

Or if ditching Fi for another provider is worth it long-term, etc. I don't know. I need help.

Aren't people using Fi without an approved phone? I was under the impression you just needed to activate it with an approved phone.

Kyo I cant stay with a phone that has a 10 min battery life. Have you tried contacting google support (diredtly from the phone settings)? I heard that they offered a refurb Pixel to someone that had battery issues, you might get one even if it is out or warranty.

I sometimes use my phone with a charger attached and it really botters me to do that, holding both with a cable is clunky as fuck and far from comfortable. Usually when I need some juice midday I just put my phone in the backpack and hope noone calls or texts me so I dont need to hold everything at once.

I can say my Pixel XL has degraded performance wise from when I got it unfortunately. It's not really bloat or apps causing it because I'm pretty minimalist. I also do full installs of roms each month since I root so it can't be attributed to that. The only thing I can think of is 4gb of ram just isn't enough nowadays. I wonder if I went back to nougat if it would run much better compared to before. I'm currently on P beta.

I had no idea this was a thing, interesting... now that I've looked it up, I guess I would need to decide if T-Mobile coverage only is worth using Fi on a replacement phone.

Yeah, I hate tethering a phone to a battery. I'd heard that the ship on Pixel replacements for Nexus 6Ps had long sailed, but there's no harm in contacting support I guess, I'll give it a shot. Thanks

So need advice as I'm switching from Verizon to ATT and I'll be getting a new phone. Currently have the original pixel and am thinking about the S9+ or waiting for the new Note. What's the best Android phone out currently? Leaning to the S9+ because of the low light camera

S9+ unless you want the extra ram and S pen in which case wait for the Note in a couple weeks.

Just know the Note is gonna cost ya.

I've always wanted a Note, but it seems this might be the last version before it gets retired. Just not sure how long the novelty of the stylus would last before I never use it. How soon will the S9+ get P?

Yeah I can't keep track. Maybe RAM amount is the same or else you only get 8 gigs if you upgrade the storage.

PS: Can't recommend those cheap aukey BT buds enough. They are crazy for the price of $25 on Amazon.

What's the link for the buds?

https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Latitu...headphones&dpPl=1&dpID=31IHcPWE5WL&ref=plSrch

Sub $30 prime eligible. Sweat proof. AptX. Come with a case and three sizes of tips + wings.

They aren't truly wireless and more like cheap Jaybird Xs. Still for the price they work even if no frills, and they sound way better than they should for the price. Plus if you use them for working out, running, yardwork ect... You don't have to baby them since it's cheap.

Don't expect them to be Icon Xs, Jabra Elites, Airpods ect...but man they are cheap for what they give. I think they've gone on sale for as low as like $18.

Man I am in love with the super rectangular shape of the note 9 compared to the miniscule curvature of the S9. Its so....no nonsense and business like.

I like the fingerprint sensor placement.

Other than that, it looks like a phone with a stylus for sure. But no notch makes me happy

Fi is a combination of T-Mobile, Sprint, and in some areas US Cellular coverage. I would imagine a phone not made specifically for Fi would just use T-Mobile only service and not getting the full benefits of Fi. Might as well do a T-Mobile mvno and get more data for the money unless you're a light user.

I don't think I'm gonna be able to resist the Note. I need a leak of whatever crazy bezel-less front the S10 is gonna have to help me wait for it.

I mean if you need the S Pen the S10 won't have it anyways.

If you don't need the S Pen honestly just get a S9+ and save a few hundy.

Dear God, are they finally realizing people don't want the curved screens and putting a flat one on the Note?

Has anyone tried the new nokias? I bought the 6.1 on a whim when my oneplus 3 screen shattered. So far i'm pretty satisfied. The build quality is awesome and the copper lining looks sweet. Not that big of a difference in performance either...yet...

We'll see, but if the phone keeps working the way it does now, I'm not going to be buying flagships anymore.

S Pen isn't a big selling point for me. I have wanted a bigger screen for a while now though. My fleeting relationship with my Note 7 was beautiful until I had to swap it for an S7, and the screen size is my only nitpick with my S7 overall.

This afternoon I was about to pull the trigger on a OnePlus 6 Red but decided to wait until tonight. Didn't realize it JUST came out and now it's sold out. FUCK. I hope it comes back on stock.

Too bad for you guys. These phones rock. I remember reading that HMD was hiring people in the US so maybe Nokia will be represented better there soon.

Just pulled the trigger on a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus for my wife, replacing her iPhone 6S Plus. Spigen makes good cases, right? What's a good case for someone who wants a nice looking case while providing good protection?

Spigen Tough/Rugged Armor have the best balance of looks and protection imo. Pretty cheap too.

Don't think a case with good protection and good looks for the S9+ actually exist. Anything other than the ultra thin silicon cases look terrible compared to a naked S9+.

Look at the Spigen Rugged armor. That's what I use on the regular S9. Still thin but much better protection than those tpu/silicon gel cases.

You all should wait for the S10. It's going to be a significant upgrade, I'm sure.

Google giving the Pixel 3 only 4 GB of RAM is fucking lol.
