I can't wait. Most anticipated game of the year. Wish I had others to look forward to, honestly.
I don't think this was ever going to be the case, the western version also comes with several quality of life upgrades missing from the Japanese release.Well I assume they'll give us the option to play the game the same way the Japanese did. Would be unfortunate if they didn't.
I'm about five hours in, and the VA performances have been really, really good IMO. I think y'all will settle in and end up liking them a lot.
Lol :)Well, for people that want the true JP experience they can always mute the voices and just read the text.
Why wouldn't it have a voice volume slider?
There have been games that made bad decisions regarding volume control, look up Xenoblade Chronicles X for the "I wish i could turn down music during cutscenes/Turn up character voices because music is too damn loud" issue.
Is the music grating or does it kind of grow on you?
I feel like this is every fan's largest concern with the game, tbh.
Voice acting is never even close to as bad as some of y'all make it out to be. Ffs you are playing a jrpg. Shit sounds weird sometimes. That's hardly the most important part to a jrpg anyway.
To each their own, but lmao at choosing to play the entire game with speech bubbles instead of voices because its not in japanese
for those that played the japanese version, is Sylvando good in battle? He's by far my favorite character design wise so I definitely want to use him in my party
you'er makin a terrible mistake. Ay?I don't care if the voices are in japanese or english, I just don't wanna hear any voices in a DQ game, IMO they ruin all the literary appeal.

Game looks so nice. Hopefully I'll enjoy it. I'm going to give it a chance.
I wanted the 3DS version, but it's regionlocked.
Oh ho, you're in for a good surprise.
Those Japanese voice actors are quite something. :P
Maybe it's me just waking up but damn did I laugh too hardThere's no "original voice overs"; the game did not have voice acting in Japan.
Each character has a niche and will be useful in battle, him included. You can freely swap party members in battle and all living members inactive or active gain experience. You will definitely find yourself using everyone, which I really liked.for those that played the japanese version, is Sylvando good in battle? Yeah, I think that dialog is fantastic and adds flare. I love it.What's your point? That's typical on the series' localization, they always add accents and dialects to make the dialogs more "colourful". You can like it or not, but I think it has nothing to do with what I'm saying.
yes, still don't understand the name change :/
You don't need to grind in the game unless you actively avoid the majority of regular battles in the first place.Doesn't sound bad at all. Hope the game keep getting better...I heard that the grind system is not good(dunno if its true).

Sounds great! I really don't understand why Square keeps trying to push this game in the west. It is NOT going to have an Octopath Traveler moment in the sun, I guarantee it.
But god bless them for trying! I'll be there day one.

I'm curious what you think they fucked up about this. They took a while to bring it over, there's no denying that (even though this is one of the faster localizations they have done afaik). But what else?Voice acting sounds pretty good to me.
It's one of the only things they did right with the localization.
Too bad they fucked up just about every other aspect of bringing DQ to the west.......again.
