Interesting choice of voices but as usual S-E marketing team is lately the worse. Their last trailers from this decade have been so terrible. I really wonder what happened.

The Game Looks Amazing. I've not played a DQ game since the first 4. I'm super excited to play this on PC. I will use original voice overs if I can with English subtitles. I don't think any of those voices match the characters look imo.

There's no "original voice overs"; the game did not have voice acting in Japan.

I'm normally not a fan of English dubs, but I played the Japanese version last year and the lack of any voice acting at all was really jarring, especially with the characters' mouths moving and during scenes that were supposed to be serious. Looking forward to replaying it in a month.

The english name changes are going to get some getting used to after a year or so of using the original names. I also wish there would be the option of turning off voice acting but still get the dialogue blips.

Looks like this is perfect for a PC release, lots of good modding potential. I hope the port isn't as bad as Automata.

Great looking game, tons of content too I read. Easily +100 hours material. And a good warm up for the even more anticipated Dragon Quest Builders 2

Is the voice acting gonna be like a few recent JRPGs? (Like Octopath, NI No Kuni 2) Where it is one word now and then expect in big story moments?

No, if a line is voiced, it'll be fully voiced. Expect it in every story scene. NPC dialogue in towns is not voiced.

Played though the majority of the japanese release and was more or less fine without the VA. Its probably going to wierd me out going through it again and it being there, so I might turn down the volume (if I can).

I think some of you are being a bit quick to judge with regards to the voices. It's pretty common for them to sound out of place in a trailer like this.

The decision to change characters' names, even when they wouldn't seem awkward to English audiences, is annoying and made worse by the roughly year-long wait for a domestic release. As for the voice acting, I can appreciate why it was likely added, but I'd rather play the game without spoken dialogue; I'm assuming there won't be a way to turn it off. Particularly on longer titles asking for a decent time investment, little things like these tend to get under my skin to the point that I'm currently on the fence about buying this game.

For the record, I like the voices so far and feel they match the personality of the characters they belong.

It was just funny seeing someone saying he will switch to JP voices when... well, you know.

I like the VAs iirc its the same voice group that did DQ8, Xenoblade and xenoblade 2
I trust this to have the same quality DQ8 did.
Edit: Is it me or does Rab sound like the soldiers from Xenoblade 2 aka "DONT FORGET ME"

I like the voices. Delivery usually feels odd in trailers since they're out of context but hey, beats not having any voiceovers.

It makes absolutely no sense to have changed the character names in this case, but for some reason, I still can't say that I'm surprised that they did.

I'm about five hours in, and the VA performances have been really, really good IMO. I think y'all will settle in and end up liking them a lot.

I'm so excited for this game. I've been playing 8 at the moment and loving it, so I'm hopeful that I'll love this one as well.

Sounds great a shame asshole Sugiyama wants to get money from concerts so we don't get a proper orchestrated soundtrack to go with it .
