This game's audience arent the longtime fans.Because Gamefreak does not respect their audience to understand that.
The starter Eevee and Pikachu got a major stat buff that makes them comparable to fully evolved Pokemon.

You know what? I've decided. I'm going to buy this game on day one AND it will be the Poke Ball Bundle! And I WON'T choose Pikachu, I'll choose Eevee instead! Even though in my opinion having an Eevee that can't evolve is pointless...
I'm just a random user here so no one cares but I might as well say it somewhere.
If only to push a Johto remake.
There it is
Can't even leave your fucking bedroom without someone running in and starting some unskippable dialogue cutscene bullshit
They probably thought the grass north of pallet was too far away and to difficult for newcomers to find without some help
? I could swear that your Mom stops you at some point before you truly leave Pallet town. And it's not like you can immediately leave either. You have to do the dumb cutscene where you have to drag your ass back to Oak's lab. At least some of the Gen III and gen IV games make this much faster than that. But that's beside the point. You are literally screaming about handholding about an...introductory cutscene. And then bragging about "in my day". Yeah, well I too played Red in my day. It was boring. And while I agree that the gym block is dumb, pretending that your way is the only way (I got a Butterfree so I guess I'm not as a manly man as you) is just as toxic.
What did Prof. Oak say when to the MC after he wandered into the tall grass?
Yuuuup I guess Game Freak randomly gave Charmander a super effective move against rock types. /s I wrecked Brock's gym with that move.Yeah you're mistaken if you think that was them trying to lower the difficulty down as Metal Claw

The behind the scenes footage had this
has customization gone too far
(if it wasnt such low quality id use that as an avatar)
Well then I guess you're a better Pokémon trainer than me as I have never won with Charmander solo.
I don't think that's a customization, I think it's the animation from the original yellow if player talked to Pikachu after fishing as he did the same thing.
Hmm doesn't look too bad. I see that Brock's Pokémon have rock type moves, though I wonder what TM that he will give as a prize?
*snip*
Diglett's Cave has always been a long empty hallway with no items or trainers. The layout really should have been redesigned to be more interesting for a game that lacks random encounters, but eh, gotta get those nostalgia bucks.

I can't unsee it as a giant toad/frog now instead of this weird plant dinosaur thing I always thought it was
So Alolan form and Megas, potentially, are allowed in the game but cross gen evolution for the gen 1 Pokémon aren't.
I don't get Game Freak's logic and more so for Megas as they are designed for the meta game rather than the single player mode.
Game Freak have stated many time that they are trying to aimed at both the causal and hardcore crowd but seemed to be doing a bad job of understand optional difficulty and respecting the players' skill set.

The visuals are a little disappointing in the battle screen. Are these the updated 3DS models or completely remade?
Pretty sure these are the models that have been used since XY.
Though to be fair those were supposed to be fairly future proofed.
Of course they are the same models. They have been used in every game and 3D CG since 2013. They are very detailed and high quality (that's why the 3DS games had performance issues as GF didn't even bother to optimize the models). The visuals are a little disappointing in the battle screen. I only realize now it looks like a frog. The name confused me so I saw him as a kind of dinosaur.Even though I always saw Venusaur as being based on a toad, it's still kinda crazy to see it hopping around like one.
My biggest hope for this game is to receive updates like many Nintendo games do nowadays. Is the possibility of other gen pokemon being added later 100% ruled out?
I was thinking that maybe because of Let's Go nature and differences they could follow a Pokemon Go approach and each year release some big expansion that adds stuff. It's a long shot, I wouldn't bet money on it but as I said different games so you never know...They are pushing a new game out in 2019, don't expect any huge updates in terms of like new regions or new pokemon. They seem annoyingly dedicated to the original 151, even foregoing stuff everyone would like such as Espeon, Umbreon, Crobat, Elekid and more.
It's another reason why I think Go seems better value than this. Go is going to get updated for years to come, Sinnoh Update, Unova Update, Kalos Update, Alola Update and beyond. Let's Go is only going to get minor support when the 2019 games roll around (More-so if that's a new generation). Gonna make some people annoyed that they can't transfer from Let's Go to Go as they will probably be playing Go for longer.
I'm also still amazed they haven't confirmed Pokebank support yet. It's August now.
Let's Go probably won't have Pokébank support. All the 151 pokémon are in these games and anything else can't be imported. There's no use for Pokébank here, other than maybe "Man, I'd really like to bring that Charizard from X" which I don't think is their priority in this game. Plus, they will most likely force Pokéball Plus as the definitive only way to get a Mew. You won't even be able to transfer it from Go. So there's that. They are pushing a new game out in 2019, don't expect any huge updates in terms of like new regions or new pokemon.
