Wow some of the kids seem like massive improvements over the already good manga. They wont be forgettable anymore.

A Place Farther Than The Universe 4
Things are progressing quite nicely. Also interesting shot of Kimari's friend at the end. She must feel left out.

Promised Neverland is going to be a psychological mystery thriller involving children in an orphanage.
It's an oddity in Weekly Shounen Jump because the material that the anime is going to cover is devoid of typical shonen action, X of the week, romance and fanservice.

The first arc is what I enjoy the most in anime. Some Death Note-like mind game wars. I need to seek that out more.

I'm seeing Takagi-san and Cross Game mentioned in here and I loved them both, so I should be looking forward to Mix then?

Fuck, I'm going to have to start watching Touch now. I've put it off for so damn long now...

Yeah, it was quite an episode for everyone involved, Mayuri and Okabi just can't win regardless of what they do.....

Oh neat. Didn't realize this takes place at the High school from Touch until looking it up now.

All of Adachi's manga have the same feel, so if you like Cross Game you'll very likely like Mix.

Mix is a sequel to Touch that doesn't require you to read/watch the former. It's also still ongoing, so this won't be a complete adaptation.

Yeah, I looked and couldn't find Touch anywhere, so I'l just go in like normal. Sucks it will not be a complete adaptation though....

Steins;Gate 0: 16

That was a good episode but also a bit frustrating. Daru and Maho aren't wrong in trying to find a way to make a better future but they also don't really understand Okabe. They may know the surface of what he went through, but they don't know the details of how many times he tried, failed, and the different types of choices he had to make. They don't get why he's so broken. Daru punching him was unnecessary and Maho comparison to her scientific failures just seemed insensitive the way she conveyed that whole argument. As for Mayuri, even if Okabe made the other choice we already saw how he ends up just about the same.

Maho's attempt was just the worst. Like fuck was it self centered. She compared her own self esteem/competitive issues to Okabe having to watch his loved ones die over and over again. This part legit made me hate her back when I read the VN.

That said, the other stuff is more understandable. Okabe just came out of nowhere with all these experiences that the rest of the crew were in the dark about. Of course they can't understand. And Daru's punch was more because Okabe called Maho a murderer.

Fate/Extra: Last Encore - Illustrias Geocentrism (aka Eps. 11-13)
It's been a long, weird road for Last Encore. Between no one really understanding what exactly it was until several episodes into the series' run to the bizarre, non-linear editing and narrative structure as well as the lack of well-choreographed fight scenes, Fate/Extra's animated debut probably left more people unfulfilled than it could have given the way Shaft usually interprets exposition-heavy material and Nasu having the most creative canvas in which to explore some really out-there concepts. But strip away the mystery of what's going on (as the show did about episodes 8-10), and the facade falls away, revealing a product that feels an awful lot safer in the end than it looked like it was initially going to be.

And with that, the stage is set for the last two battles to pan out as Hakuno, Rin, and Nero fight their way through the champions of the Holy Grail War to reach the Moon Cell (aka the Holy Grail). What's surprising about the conclusion is that it really doesn't have any more cards to play in terms of surprises at this point. Once the truth about Hakuno's origin and the way the world came to be comes into focus, the show has no further revelations that will change your innate understanding of how events played out or will do from that point. It makes you wonder if that was to be the only major revelation why the series didn't reveal it sooner and instead focus on the deleterious effects of existing for an eternity trapped in a looping program that never ends? Seeing a sequel that revisits how the characters from Extra are changed throughout that stretch of time felt like the primary goal early on, but none of the characters stick around long enough for those changes to feel like they matter much in the grand scheme of things.

And now without the mystery to pull people along, this typical pair of fights against OP entities by the last batch of participants feels kind of quaint, and the show itself seems to lose steam, trying to ride an emotional wave when it runs out of explanations for how the conclusion is even happening. The Grail always tends to be where the internal logic the Fate series operates on always breaks down thanks to its nebulous powers allowing literally anything to happen, but here it feels like Nasu just gave up attempting to explain what happened at all. The post-credits scene is so utterly baffling I'm left wondering what the ending of the show was trying to say at all. Thematically, this is the messiest that Fate has ever been (so far as I'm aware of); I had my issues with how Apocrypha's ending was handled, but at least it was clear about what it was trying to say. This is just a wash of half-baked ideas with an open-ended conclusion that says nothing.

But at least the action was good with all that time they had to make these, right? Well... I think it's safe to say that Nero vs. Gawain is easily the highlight of Last Encore's action scenes. Not only is it one of the longest fights, it has better animation quality and story boarding than I can recall from previous fights in the series. But even that fight, good as it was, doesn't live up to the expectations for Fate fights set by Apocrypha's Karna vs. Seigfreid, or Zero's Saber vs. Lancer. There's a lack of tactical consideration that plays into the whole class system (partially a problem that both Nero and Gawain are Saber-class), but even so, it often feels like they just end up beating each other into submission through willpower rather than anything clever. I usually like Fate fights to be a little more cerebral, and most of the other franchise standouts have some of their best sequences not only look good but also feel closer to something you'd expect out of JoJo rather than just turning into a slugfest between historical or mythological familiars. None of the fights in the end here feel smart or substantial, making the emotional resonance they try to impart to make up for the writing falling apart ring hollow, and as such the ending just kind of came and went. It's a shame considering Last Encore's relatively strong start that it ends on a whimper.

In the end, the show really adds nothing of value. If you have any interest in the characters or setting, I'd recommend reading up on or possibly watching a lets play of the original PSP game, Fate/Extra. There's also two sequels to that game: one is another PSP game that was never localized; Fate/Extra CCC, which introduced some of the best characters in the franchise (BB & Elizabeth Bathory), and the other is the Musou game for PS4, Fate/Extella. But in all honesty, Last Encore is not friendly to those without prior knowledge, and even if you prepare before you watch, it'll leave you disappointed and bitter because it has nothing of note to say while looking like a budget Shaft production to boot. It's a shame considering that most Fate adaptations up to this point have been at least decent if not exceptional since Fate/Zero, and Shaft could've really provided a lens into Fate that differed significantly to other studios that had worked on the series in recent years. Sometimes, too much creativity is a bad thing, and it seems Shaft's directorial vision combined with Nasu's unfiltered writing lead to a Fate series I don't think anyone will get anything out of, and that's a damned shame.

Yeah it just got worst as it went along, I thought her character has been pretty good so that was disappointing. Agree with the other part being more understandable, they don't know in depth what he's been through and why he feels he needs to avoid doing that again for his and their sake so their viewpoint isn't as cautious as his. And yeah, I get why Daru felt mad enough to do it but just wasn't feeling it.

You kinda prove the point. The only manga that's comparable was also considered an oddity to Shounen Jump's catalogue of battle action, comedy, and harem/romance manga. Only other exception I can think of is Bakuman, but that's not a thriller, so it's not in the same category of Death Note and Promised Neverland.

Chihayafuru S2 ep.1-3
I should have jumped back into this sooner, because they wasted no time getting right back into the poem action with the crew. Also a new side story with Arata and the Queen? I wasn;t aware of a relation there from S1, so I'm interested to see where they go with it.

Watamote ep.11-END
Highlight of the show was episode 4 and everything else was a notch below that. I still got some laughs out of it, but I ended up feeling more sad for her in the end, and the comedy just wasn't there because it was almost cruel...

How Clumsy You Are, Miss Ueno PV:

I've been reading this manga. It's pretty goofy. It's about a girl who runs a science club who is very thirsty for one of her male club members so she constantly tries to get him to do embarrassing stuff using her new inventions, only he's completely unfazed by everything and constantly refuses to go along with her dumb schemes.

The Grappler Baki anime is a great adaptation so far and I can't wait to see the reactions people have once it hits Netflix in a few months. Anyone complaining about a lack of anime focusing on ultra manly men beating the ever loving fuck out of each other in a graphic and over the top manner will love it.

Free! Dive to the Future Episode 4

MOMO

How did people dislike the episode when the cutest free made an appearance. Though could have had more Rin.

LIking where the plot is going, seeing Haru once again having to live with breaking promises to his friends of the past, continues to make me interested as I love seeing childhood friends rekindle friendships.

Ikuya dorm room is pretty nice, these university really has great rooms.

Banana Fish Episode 5

Sometimes the anime could look a bit better than it does. But otherwise the opening scene with Ash suddenly wanting to go and Eiji finally hopping in to do something was great.

I still wonder what is the role of the old men hanging around and what Eiji's role in all of this will be. Cant shoot a gun, no strength, and etc makes him like dead weight for pulling much action. I guess emotional support for Ash and keeping him humanized? Could work well if they manage to actually have some more heart to hearts.

Ash crying finally was :( :( :(

Seven Shit - 05

Can I just say that Takanori is creepy as fuck? This show is dumb and full of cringe but let's just focus on this creeper for a second. He has a thing for a girl who has the mind of a child, kidnapped her, knocked her out. Treats her like his property. Literally the worst.

I asked this before but forgot. Is this a great way to get into Baki or should I watch something else beforehand?

I am willing to watch the other ones after the new one if it is beginner friendly anyways.

Hot baths was best episode in a while, if only there were more Ryuji but, the old man made this pretty fun both with upping the heat, but also with giving us one of the funnest battles in a while. Taiga did admirably.

Owner lady really made a ton of money with this collab.

The new anime does feature a bunch of characters you wouldn't know if you hadn't watched or read the previous arcs, but it's not super necessary. It still takes some time to introduce some characters, even Baki. But you're not really coming to Baki for its deep characterization or intricate development of characters, you're coming to it to watch really gross looking men do very violent things to each other.

Sold.

Thanks for the information! If I clear some of my "started but not finished yet" animes then I will watch the past episodes but if not I will just watch the new one.

Blood Blockade Battlefront 4-12

Decided to give this a second shot and I enjoyed it more as the plot developed. I will say it is incredibly hard to follow at points with a ton of completely unrelated stories strung together. I don't even fully understand why certain things happened. Fortunately Leo is a character that is really easy to root for so it wasn't all bad. Also damn the OST is superb. Knocked it out of the park with that.

The shifting of the wave motion gun to more of a personal dilemma for the crew is pretty well done in my opinion. In the previous series, it sometimes felt like the wave motion gun got the crew out of too many jams, here it's something that carries more weight. Man, Kodai has had it rough this season.

I needed a stupid, nonsensicle but fun show to watch. Would Btoom work for that? Any others?
I have a show for you, a show that they had to replace the english voice actress for the main character halfway through because she ruined her voice doing the character.

a show where the universe falls in love with a man.

If you want stupid, nosneisicale but fun... I think Excel Saga would be a good start :P

School Rumble is also a decent place to eventually go as that gets pretty nonsensicle.
