Like, Asian themed art or art made by Asians? Because I have both :P
I was thinking of art made by Asians.

The only one I understand is Jay Chou concert.funny thing, in sydney cbd a lot of the train advertising has been brought up by companies specifically targeting chinese speakers... a shitload of chinese characters on ads in the city stations these days.
It only took MisoHawni and Jackie Chan, the commie to bring the first meltdown of the Era.. amazing..
She ran a presentation that was both informative/uplifting, so... I don't see the problem there. Clearly she's aware and talking about the issue.
Also, I know you probably don't mean it this way, but Asian women do not "belong" to Asian men. Like, we are not "your" women. It should not matter at all who we marry.
Trust me, I understand where you're coming from. I know that there's this feeling that if Asian women don't date Asian men, who else will date Asian men? I know that many Asian women marry nonAsian men, I know that some Asian women say things that reflect that they've bought into the whole brainwashing thing, I know that some Asian feminists don't care about the plights of Asian men in the West. But... so what? Some Asian American men ARE horribly patriarchal, some do hold onto really sexist beliefs, etc. We live as second class citizens and inevitably there's going to be different ways of coping-- but the best thing imo is to unite and be one strong force. Squabbling amongst ourselves only makes us weak.
Forget the fact that Poke, Korean BBQ and Ramen just sounds like a terrible combo
I bet it's gonna be instant noodles and you're gonna have some dude be like "This is the best ramen I've tasted ever"
Worst part was no punishment or warnings either.Yeah, despite the size of the casual racism defense force, I do think that some users had their eyes opened a bit. It's a shame the thread is locked.

Asians continue to be the door mat on personal issues.
It was going so well until my sarcastic posts ruined the entire thing
Not one person was even warned for casual racism in there though, at least from what I saw. What's the point. Basically "this thread is getting out of hand, shutting it down before somebody reveals their full blown racism in here" rather than warning people their casual racism is not okay and could be subject to a future ban.Yeah, despite the size of the casual racism defense force, I do think that some users had their eyes opened a bit. I feel like it's a case of a "practice what you preac" kind of thing
For example, this one girl I knew ran a presentation/workshop about Asian masculinity that was both informative/uplifting. This girl also happened to be dating a white guy.
Now those two things aren't linked, (and I don't think they should be) but you can see where it seems weird that she preached how emasculated Asian guys are in the media and how to combat it/unlearn our perceptions but she doesn't go with an Asian guy. My guess is that's where the thought process is.
Not sure if you saw my post about clean slates, but a lot of people that felt stiffled in the old forum feel free to spout nonsense here. No warnings in that thread either.Well apparently the new policy for casual racism threads is to shut them down and acted like they never happened.
Sarcasm is my default mode. Sometimes it bites me in the ass cause I don't bother putting the /s. I'm guessing someone reported me.lol, not sure if *this* is sarcasm or not. Nah, your post was fine.
your sarcastic post flew over some of our fellow forum posters' heads :(
Haha, is that what attracted the mod into the thread? LOL...Sarcasm is my default mode. Sometimes it bites me in the ass cause I don't bother putting the /s. I'm guessing someone reported me.
My hot take is the next casual racism is another locked thread.there will be other topics, im sure, where we can fight the good fight again. casual racism is still racism and a lot of people still needs to be educated on how hurtful it can be.
not white skin like Europeans (who tend to be more pink than white.)
I know the forum is still new and finding it's identity, but that thread was a shit show. I don't see how the next thread will be any different.sometimes it derails thingies
i love sarcastic humour ngl but it does sometimes derail thingies cuz others arent in on the context of who's who saying what

That thread is an awful precedent. So many people failing to comprehend that mocking someone's accent to make a shitty sex joke is racism. 0 warnings. Not for racism. Not for drive-by's. Not for derailing.
On the bright side, I did enjoy this poster's lack of self-awareness, even if he doesn't.
did you report any particular problematic posts?
usually at least a warning or a mod presence would be sent out if there's pings on the report console. like how i was mod-signaled to hermit's sarcasm since seems that people genuinely thought he was being a racist against other asians (like the reporters were good people looking out for us, asians, and ended up reporting hermit instead)
:thumb up emoji:No, I forgot there was a report button on this forum. I'll do it next time, though.

Haha is that why?
And yeah I assume most reports will be people looking out.
But TBH I personally find it really hard to want to report anything unless it's explicitly malicious and the poster knows as such.
Ignorance doesn't warrant a warning to me, it warrants correcting. Even if they chose to ignore that, then it's just them being stupid.
Can we report people for being stupid :>
Yep. I will fully admit, if I didn't check your post history, I wouldn't have known the right context.Sarcasm is my default mode. Sometimes it bites me in the ass cause I don't bother putting the /s. I'm guessing someone reported me.

Mmmm... I think it can be done differently without suppressing people's rights, so I won't give them that much credit. But yeah, I can't help but see America as a failing democracy right now.The Jackie Chan one was just as hilarious with that one poster going on a rant about China being a police state and how Chinese people need to have their mind freed like they're jacked into the Matrix or something.
Yes, the Chinese government has done some fucked up things...no they are not a democracy. Not having freedom of speech does suck but at the same time, pulling such a large population out of poverty is impressive on its own. The way I see it, here in the US ...those in power use freedom of speech and the fear of losing it in order to distract the majority of the population from the huge growing wealth disparity. Whereas in China, the government has improved its citizens' standards of living greatly but at the great expense of personal liberties.
Agreeee I think the Asian-American man's gotta sometimes put themselves in the reverse shoes. If every other plethora of flavor wants your sausage you know damn well it's a high probability you'd be in a pasta or jambalaya. Yet you can still be president of the Asian business club right? ;) Btw the best way to emasculate the Asian man is just being a badass all on your own, and that does not come with complaining about other people's dating choices.

Yooo which part?
Vietnamese-American male. You?
