That was one hell of an ending for episode 4 ah ah ah.

Would love

To not get spoiled at 8am the day the episode comes out before I've had a chance to watch it

Yeah, I almost got spoiled, but I stopped reading at the beginning of the sentence, thank God.

I wish Hulu was as good as Netflix about having its originals available day and date worlwide. It's completely absent from Hulu Japan.

Generally speaking spoilers in a thread become fair game once it airs in the US, but since this is a streaming show and not released simultaneously everywhere by Hulu, I encourage you to discuss what you believe to be appropriate spoiler etiquette for this thread, and if you reach a consensus the OP can put it in the first post.

References in the first 3 episodes
References in the opening (and weirdness involving The Shining)

So many references here

I watched the first episode today and hope to watch the other two soon, maybe even tonight's as well.

I like it. It's good so far and has a good cast.

Oh, new episode today? Sweet.

Also, does anyone else kinda hate the show's name? It sounds like an 80s rock song.

What is the crash site, Dreamcatchers?
The Tommyknockers.

And, yeah, another good episode and I wasn't expecting it to end like that.

Mrs. Deaver complaining that so-and-so doesn't even "shovel her own walk" made me smile, that is a turn of phrase you don't hear very often in media. Beyond the tone and ideas at play, it is the little things like that line and the Brown Bread from a previous episode and Molly trying to sell the house with the promise that Massholes don't vacation in Castle County, that really make this feel more like King than most of his direct adaptations(all that is missing is some talk about the Sox).
The look of the town is also spot on. Looking into it they filmed in Massachusetts and it shows, New England towns often get portrayed as much nicer than they are, little storybook places or seaside towns that are all docks all the time, but here they get it pretty right.

Episode 4 ending was amazing.

I'm so glad this show is as good as it is. Michael Uppendal has been a clutch director for this show, as he's able to bring real tension and drama into something that, as many King adaptations have shown, could really easily be hokey and dumb (the amazing cast, with Andre Holland in particular anchoring the whole thing, help too).

Way creepier than IT too, this is the better Bill Skarsgaard role.

I watched the second and third episodes today. The second one was really good, but the third one wasn't as good as the first two, apart from the opening.

I'm really liking this show, though, and look forward to catching up tonight by watching the fourth episode. It has a really good and recognizable cast. I was happy to see the woman from Fargo as Melanie Lynskey's sister. She's another actress I like, but it's hard to watch her in a dramatic role after seeing her as Rose in Two and a Half Men so many times.

Edit: Wow, that ending...

This show blindsided me completely... was expecting it to be as shit as almost all King adaptations, but it manages to build this nerve-gnashing horror lurks beneath small town atmosphere that is signature of Castle Rock. Really good castings as well.

So far it does seem like the show is maintaining that Stephen King balance of humor and horror. I love that they know when to get tense and build it up. I was unnerved when Henry went into that house and it just got more unnerving.

I do kinda wish the show wasn't so damn grey and desaturated all the damn time.

I am really enjoying this one as well. They nailed the small town New England vibe, run down brick and mortar in areas the led in industrial work until that went away forever. Loved the line "how many times can one town look the other way".

Love the connections to Kings work without making knowledge a prerequisite or barrier to non readers/fans. It all just exsists because it's the history of castle rock, and make no mistake this isn't adaption land, that IS King's Castle Rock, down to Alan Pangborn still banging around even in retirement resigned to the fact you can't beat castle rock as much as keep the worst at bay.

It may not be the best television I have witnessed, but it's definitevly the most Stephen King something based on his works has ever been.

Got into this a couple days ago, still need to watch the 4th episode. One of the best works based off of king I think.

I've never been a fan of much outside of his books, including the (in my eyes) terrible adaptation of the shining from Kubrick.

For film or TV I've only loved The Shawshank Redemption and the new IT.

While not strictly castle Rock. I thought i'd post this here, because Marc is a top man. He does mention the show a couple of times though.

Enjoyed the first episode. Felt like Stephen King, and was very intriguing.

I wish more companies would experiment with release schedules. I like that Hulu drops 3 to start. It's a smart way to get people hooked. 3 is a good amount to binge. But it feels a little rough going to 1 a week. Someone should try 3-3-4 if it's 10 episode season (3-3-3-3, if it's 12). I like that first season of Search Party was 1 episode a day each day until complete. Or what about 5 episodes a week, 1 each week day, over 2 weeks? I think there's a lot of interesting ways to please the bingers and those that want some time to breath.

My faith was renewed by 11/22/63 on Hulu. I may give this a shot too.

However,

Never forget, Under The Dome.

Is this the best show right now? Why, yes.
It is only getting better with these last episodes, something I didn't expect.

However,

Never forget, Under The Dome.

This is almost the opposite of Under The Dome, in all aspects. So please give it a shot.

So far this is the most Stephen king feeling show in forever. I feel like I was transported to another place and time. The feeling you get when reading his books from the 80s and 90s.

I wish this came out in late September to get that full effect.

Harvest was my favorite episode so far. Brimming with atmosphere, the show is using sound in really interesting ways, and it's giving its characters the right amount of time.

I love it but there are too many scenes of the "kid" just staring.

He's creepy and he has weird eyes, we get it

What are your guys' thoughts about The Kid?
I don't think he is truly evil. Whatever his power is causes bad stuff to happen but I don't think there is any malice to him. But holy shit with that birthday scene.

I think he's a fallen angel or something similar. I think the bad stuff happening around him may be a red herring. Or you're right and he is causing it all but not out of any malice.
