For me, I take the 5 PM train, it gets to my stop by 5:40, I drive home, by then it's usually 6:30 PM. I take my dog for a walk and eat dinner, after that I try to code for a bit or play video games. Usually, I goto bed at 10 PM, I like to fall asleep watching random Star Trek series.

:/

Just wondering what everyone does after work.

I drive 10 minutes home, have dinner, then play video games.

Or skip the drive home and get drunk with my coworkers and get an uber.

Drive to the gym to workout, go home and make dinner, spend the rest of the night watching tv or playing video games. I'm a very boring person.

Drive 45 mins home, chill out for a bit. Eat dinner if hungry, work on a side project for a bit, watch some Netflix or listen to an audio book. Shower up then bed time.

Work from 7 till 330. Then I head home, usually take a nap till 530 or 6, make supper, then spend the rest of the night browsing the web or playing videogames with the occasional watching of sporting events thrown in.

I lead a pretty boring life unfortunately.

I work 1-9 generally. After that it's about 10 minutes home, but I usually stop and grab two single beers up the road from my apartment. Get home, and sit with the wife for a couple hours and then go to bed. Watch movies or TV in between that time or Video Games if I'm feelin' in. I also, am quite boring.

I translate novels and edit financial documents all from the comfort of my own home. After work, I step out of the bedroom.

Provided we're not going out that day, and after making dinner and having a shower or what-not, the rest of the day and night is spent gaming alongside my SO on our X1Xs.

I sit around dreading the next day of work...even if there is a two day weekend (which is rare). All I do is either hate being at work or dread going to work.

Leave work at 6 and take the train. Either read or play my Swtich on train. Call my parents on the walk from the train to my apartment.

Get home by around 6:45. Take food out to defrost. Shower.

By then my partner gets home and we will chill for a bit before he cooks dinner. I do the dishes.

After dinner we will usually watch a few episodes of something together. (Currently Rose of Versailles.) Then we'll play games or read on the couch.

I try to be in bed by 11 or 12 but he stays up much later! I don't know how his body can run on so little sleep.

Usually it's this
  • Go home, do some stuff around the apartment. Sometimes stop and pick some stuff for dinner up.
  • Partner is either home, or will be home later.
  • Play some video games/watch TV
  • Cook/help with cooking dinner
  • Do something together typically
  • Go to sleep.
but once or twice a week we'll go out and do something.

I usually leave the office at 5:30ish. My commute is 1h45m most of which is on a train. I usually read, nap or play vids (phone, 3ds or switch) the train. Get home around 7:15 when I have dinner. From 8-10, its chill time if I have nothing else on. That means some combo of TV, vids, surfing the net or learning some new tech (usually coding related). Bed at 10 unless its friday or I'm working from home the next day. If that's the case, bed time is 11 or 12 and there might be an adult beverage or two.

I am guessing the 6 PM train is less crowded? You stay up way too late, I get up at 5 AM

Constant worry about work

I get off at 10pm and an hour drive home. So, home around 11pm, generally I'll just chill for the next few hours. I get something to eat, check around here, and read. I'm in bed by 1am. I'll wake up around 9am. I'll workout, eat, and then get ready for work. I'll leave for work a little after 12pm.

Currently between jobs (but I've got an interview for a job I'm really excited about tomorrow! So wish me luck! >:) ), but at my last job it would depend on the type of workday it was. If it was 12+ hours I'd usually just go home and immediately crash, or watch TV and play one of my unwinding games (currently MTG:Arena and Minecraft, haha). If it was a short day like an 8h or whatever then often I go over to my friends house and hang out with him and his roommate for a couple hours. I typically don't do much at the end of the day as I usually just ended up doing 3-4 work day weeks doing double shifts so I could actually relax and be with the people I love on the off days.

Hmm... I got out of work around at 6-6:30, then head back home. I take the subway then the bus, which in total is around 1 hour and a half, so I'm home by 7:30 - 8:00. I chat a bit with my family, get some dinner, then I watch the news while browsing the net or gaming a bit, and I go to sleep around 10:30.

Rinse and repeat.

I try to follow a set schedule:

Mon, Tue, Wed - gym, make and eat dinner, watch training videos/study/use labs for a few hours. If something compelling going on - sports game, happy hour for special occasion or someone really wants to meet up - I'll go but I used to dick around or drink on those days and decided to establish them as days to go home and be productive. Typically go to bed around 12.

Thurs - gym, happy hour. If it's a late out one just go to bed, if a quick one I'll come home and just hang out or meet my gf out somewhere when she's off work for dinner and/or movie or drinks or whatever.

Fri - gym, stay in and play games or go out if something's going on.

I'm typically off at 5pm or so and live a 5-minute walk away, with my gym being on the way.

Work 9-5. go home at 5, change clothes. Sit up and read, or watch tv shows or play video games till midnight or 1 am. pass out. wake up and do it all over again.

Three months of the year i might do more by going out and spending time with friends or host friends. In those cases we drink, or smoke, and just shoot the shit.

edit: commute is almost zero. i walk home in 15 minutes

I work from home and I'm "old" (42).

Stop work around 5 - 5:30.
Go see how I can help with dinner and/or homework.
Eat
Hang out with family. That could be a game of Fortnite with my son (only on PC as he is a PCMR snob), PSVR with my daughter (she is a big fan), board game (Ticket to Ride, etc), family walk with the dog, family cards, or maybe just family TV time.
Kid bedtime (8-8:30)
Mom and dad time which is pretty much TV the kids can't watch. We do date night at local microbrews and restaurants a few times a month.
My wife goes to bed way earlier than me. After that I play a game or watch TV she doesn't care for. I go to bed at midnight, wake up at 7:45, start work at 8am.

It takes me 30 minutes to drive home. When I'm doing the healthy life style thing, I walk up the hill near my neighborhood and exercise for an hour to an hour and a half. I come home, eat dinner, and take my shower. I then have about an hour to an hour and a half to chill and watch tv or surf the net. My life is boring as shit, but I'm making some strides to change that.

Depends.

If I work from the office (two days a week) :
15 minute commute back home.
If I have left overs, reheat. If not, spend about an hour cooking something.
Sit down, watch something while I eat, relax a bit for half an hour or so.
Open my laptop and work on my business and my SAAS.
Take a shower or a bath, sleep.

If I am working from home?
I'll just start cooking early and leave stuff ready. At 5pm I "clock out" , finish cooking or eat, if it's not raining I may take half an hour at the pool. Go back, turn on my laptop and work on my stuff. Shower, and sleep.

Sprinkle with interactions and things with my SO. Not all days are rigid and there are days where we'll just watch a movie, or go outside, or do something else so not every day is rinse and repeat. I need to get exercise back in my day to day, so I'll start doing that next week. Already moved my schedule around to fit at least an hour or something. Not a boring lifestyle for me as I am working towards my goals in life, and I fucking love what I do so that helps.

Family life. As most dads will tell you, it's something very close to this:

Get off work.
Either the wife or I pick up the kids
Help with homework
Dinner
Baths/showers
Reading
Bed time
Time with the wife

It's actually pretty great & rewarding :-)

I work a 12 hour graveyard shift, so it usually involves killing time for an hour. Then gettting the kids and wife ready for school or daycare. Then sleep.

Go to work
Go to the gym
Go home and shower
Sleep maybe or play video games before bed.

Repeat.
Doesn't seem like a lot but work is 8 and a half hours and my gym time is like 3 - 4 hours so most of the day is gone. I go to sleep at like 1 - 2 am regularly, on the two days off of work and the gym I just sit around and get some gaming in. I don't really like going out much.

I usually have diner right when I come back from work, wash the dishes, spend some time on ERA, see friends, play video games, spend time with the GF.

In between all of those, add smoking weed every now and then. :lol

Go home, play Splatoon or other games, browse era, try and fail to stop thinking about things I want/need to do at work. Nothing else worth doing here most of the time. Everything of interest is at least a 20 minute drive away and no way am I going somewhere that far after my 40 minute commute back from work. Wish I hadn't lost the ability to socialize or feel productive after college. My NEET period really destroyed whatever little motivation for productive activities I had left
