I didn't own many comics as a kid but I did have one where venom and like two spidermans visited this planet. They had some sound blaster gun too. Was kool.
This would be so dumb but also nostalgia and cool. And then he gets saved by Cloak and Dagger like this

Hope it doesn't do well, it's everything I dislike about 90s comics. Edgyness, antiheroes, violence, dumb symbiotes. Don't want anymore of this or stupid villains movies with no heroes.

My thoughts exactly. They couldn't give the other symbiote some color or just go ahead and do Carnage? Of course not, as they are probably saving that for the sequel which will never happen.
That would be amazing, but Venom'd snap him like a twig. MCU Spidey can't even handle the Black Order.

Watch it do something like 27 on RT, 370MM domestic, 800MM WW. Bad RT scores didn't hurt BvS and SS. IIRC October looks pretty empty and the only big release after Venom is Fantastic Beasts.

so besides the name Eddie Brock, does this resemble Venom at all? It seems to be more like the Prototype game, minus the city wide infections

Black Panther and Logan did exactly the same thing and those are two of the best received comic book movies of all time. Sure, I highly doubt that the writing of Venom will even be close to that of Logan and Black Panther, but it's not like the 'hero fights slightly different version of himself' trope is really that outdated.
This movie is amazing alone just because it has changed my usage of black charcoal cheese to Venom Cheese.
Is almost 6 million views in one Day hype?

They could have just done that without the bad movie. Just have Venom fight Spider-Man because there is literally no reason for there to have Venom in a movie without Spider-Man.
Nothing wrong with it, but there comes a point of just trying too hard that it looks childish. As if a 14 year old had a wet dream of this shit and decided to make a movie about it. Like that entire threat Venom made about tearing that guy's face off and turning him into a turd (I think he said that, I can hardly decipher whatever Venom is saying half the time)? Sorry bruv, that's just hilariously bad writing.
The effects are looking good enough to have my interest, at least with what they are trying to do with it, not that the CGi looks really great necessarily. I mean, it looks far more like Venom than what they did in Spider-Man 3 for what it's worth.
Everything else looks mediocre to bad. Hardy's Eddie Brock reminds me of Mike Tyson and Venom sounds goofy for other reasons. It may turn out decent and watchable but my expectations are really low. I kind of hope Holland's Spider-Man shows up, but not because I want this to taint the MCU, but because I doubt Venom or any other their spin-off characters show up unless there is a crossover like this or unless Sony decides to not extend their deal and everything in the Spider-Man universe is getting tainted anyways.
