This would be fun to watch while drunk. Shame I can't stand the taste of alcohol because this looks so bad. The only think that would make it edgier is a black leather trenchcoat.

This suit would translate to live action far more gracefully, imo.

Honestly they probably should have just do Flash Thompson story and just call the character Eddie Brock for the casual audience it works better as w standalone story especially helped that Flash is a better character than Eddie

This movie just comes across as way too edgy, dark and violent to the point of just looking silly.

These brief moments would be fine if, you know, it were just a Spider-Man movie with Venom as an antagonist. But 2 whole hours of this shit? With this dialogue to boot? It just looks so bad.

We never needed a Venom movie.

Maybe you didn't.

Some of us are sick of your PG-13 Disney fanfare.

I'm hoping it's even darker than the trailer. Really bloody, with lots of swears.

Where X marks the spot.
So is there some other symbiote in the Marvel universe I should know about?

I know of Venom and Carnage, obviously. I'm more of a casual fan but I've heard of Toxin.

--------------------

So a quick google has me guessing this is probably the big bad for the movie:
http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Venom_(Klyntar)_(Earth-616)

There's an entire species on their own planet (with their own god/ creator) full of em. On earth there are a fuck load running around as well.

The CGI definitely looks like it needs work. Those quick shots in the last trailer hid a lot of the cartoonishness of the effects. Still, I cant believe we live in a world where there is a big budget Venom movie being made....Im cautiously optimistic. Its rated R, right?

dont care if the CGI looks meh right now. They have time till release. A much bigger problem is that ... I CANT UNDERSTAND WHAT VENOM IS SAYING 80% OF THE TIME

Oo

same as with Bane Tom Hardy has a hard time doing voiceover it seems.

Looks like cheap fun but damn Tom Hardy doesn't even look like he's trying out there. Legit walking through each scene giving zero fucks to acting.

Looks ok, some of the Venom parts actually look menacing and well done for adapting the character to screen.

Kinda like bits of Tom's performance as well but the whole movie looks uneven and disposable.

Also Sony blows so hard at trailers. They suck at cutting them, make most of their movies look like total crap (even when they're not), and then they reveal huge chunks of plot too.

Trailer is badly done IMO.

Same.

Venom only works when he is edgy/trolls people and plays with his enemies before killing them and this nailed that. Overall II am hyped for the movie because they nailed the character of Venom but this trailer sucks.

Anyone else annoyed that lately they always show a 5 second summary of the trailer right before the trailer starts? Like, just let me watch the thing.

That looked alright but I don't even want it to be good because it's not MCU

Tom Holland's Spider-Man seems too young and innocent to face off against Venom yet, hopefully this doesn't ruin it for the future.

And I completely agree. It sucks this is what we got instead.

EDIT: I probably should've added an "/s" at the end of the initial post. I didnt mean to indicate that your post was wrong or made me want to vomit.

Oh, lol, sorry. Venom just seems like a massively missed opportunity for Sony to capitalize on the standard tone of superhero movies, which is only going to expand when Fox's properties are under Marvel's control again. (I like that tone a lot, mind you, but I'm okay with there being more options, and I'm hoping Marvel will eventually, either in phase four or beyond, be willing to take those risks to stay interesting.)

Venom sounds like he's talking through a muffler while underwater with a mouthful of human flesh.

CG isn't horrible, but I'm not sold at all. It's leaning far more into action than horror.

Looks really good, but I still can't get past Tom Hardy's accent. It sounded like he was channeling his inner Christopher Walken at the start.

I think this looks really bad. The cgi and voices are terrible and marry that with how this seems to be stand alone and disconnected from Spiderman and you have something that just doesn't make any sense imo. I am not even interested in watching this on Netflix.

Kinda hilarious that almost every Hardy's role is mumble core that most people need subtitles for.
He mumbled in TDKR.
He mumbled in Taboo.
Now Venom mumbles.

Venom vs corrupt executive as bigger Venom? Lame.

And I couldn't understand shit what it was trying to say. At least it'll be subbed here so I don't have to guess.

So I see they're just straight up jacking Carnage's special abilities and giving them to other characters.

Thats kind of lame.

Am I the only one that can barely understand what Venom is saying?

Man this is so disappointing, Venom has gotten shafted super hard both of his tries at the big screen. MCU venom would have been so much more interesting.

Fucking awful. All of this looks terrible. Sony's movie division should fuck off and give Marvel back Spidey's full rights. Stop squandering this franchise, jesus christ.

At least venom looks good. I'll probably just watch for the symbiotes but i can't care less about the plot since they basically decided to detach it from the Spider-Man stuff. Would have been awesome to see him basically make spidey's life a living hell.
