Now this is freaking huge. Last reported TF numbers on Wii U were 1.12M, so this has already far exceeded that in just a couple months.

Well deserved. It's an amazing game. Part of me hopes we get another one like it someday but I doubt they want to keep churning out these DKC games. I'm sure they have other stuff they want to work on.

Now even more games are gonna get a second chance to shine on the Switch. Nice.

For whatever reason I'm much thirstier for Switch software than I was for Wii U. I keep buying games. What's wrong with me!

Great result! I didn't dig Tropical Freeze as much as a lot of folks seem to, but it is undeniably a grand game and sales success is always awesome.

Those four years Retro spent working on Funky Kong implementation was worth it ;)

Replaying it at the moment on Switch.

It's the difficulty that will prevent it reaching higher numbers when it's all said and done.

I'm someone who's played through the likes of Super Meat Boy and Celeste and there are still times where I'm surprised by how hard some sections or bosses are.

A young and/or inexperienced player would really struggle with this title. Not sure Funky and the special items would be enough for them to enjoy it.

True but original DKC were also pretty challenging and we all enjoyed them when we were kids.

Strong evidence that games can be re-released to additional success on switch at this point

surely, we give W101 a decent re-release Nintendo...right?....right?

Sort of another proof that Wii U was the problem, not the games (the games that were missing contributed big time, of course).

Great, the games totally deserves to sell more but they didn't really help it with that price tag so this is still good numbers and hopefully guarantee an evenly good sequel.

Pretty good sales. Not sure how it deserves to sell more though with that inflated price tag.

Gonna easily cross 2 million, possibly 2.5-3 million depending on legs.

DKCR3 is basically a lock now for Switch. I guess, I hope you like the DKC brand Retro, lol. You guys kinda dropped the ball big time by getting whatever that new IP you were working on canned.

Already beat Wii U's LTD then! So happy to see this game reach more people after it went under the radar on Wii U.

And there you have it, the reason Namco Bandai bottled the release of Dark Souls Switch — very impressive numbers.

So happy for Retro and David Wise, game is great, which reminds me that I still need to beat it. On Wii U I stopped after 2-3 and now on Switch I'm on 5-Boss and am stuck. Hopefully this signals to Nintendo to keep porting Wii U games.

Retro probably has serious upper management issues. No one knows if the project was canned or just went through many phases but is still coming. I really hope the key people behind TF are still there though and give us another gem.

So 2.5 million for TF so far.

A far cry from DKCRs 10 million but still good. Hopefully DKCR3 is in the pipeline

Yes! Finally gets its time to shine.

And since this is most likely an evergreen title, it will sell on. Watch it go 5m at the end of the generation.
