You will soon get the ability to build nine more.same, what's up with the big ass size container that only contain 5 slots...
Not in my experience. The sentinels never go into the mode where they can't find you if I'm underground. They just sit on the surface and wait for me. Even worse when it's the dogs, because they can just teleport to me for some reason, or attack me through 100 feet of solid earth.
I already have that ability, but that's still huge freaking boxes that doesn't fit with anything aesthetically really
Flying mechanics not even close, this isn't a sim. Grind is different in NMS as it's a survival resource gathering/crafting game. Grind in NMS pays off in its systems far better IMO and not just "run these missions for rank for hours so you can buy this ship that doesn't really offer you that much of an improvement" Exploration is far more satisfying here since you can exit your ship. Activities range across the same kind of disciplines: trading, combat, mining, exploration (discoveries, photography missions, scanning missions). Loop feels a little better here since I'm not spending 30 minutes just to get somewhere. How's this game compared to Elite Dangerous in activities, flying mechanics and grind?
Got funds on my steam wallet that are screaming to be used.

Deploy a signal booster? Not sure which category under the navigation unlock requirement the transmission tower falls under.Hey y'all is there an easy way to discover a transmission tower or is that just a "explore some planets arbitrarily until you find one" sort of thing? I'm not even sure I know what a transmission tower is.
The crashes on this game are abysmal now, Loaded 3 times, Crashed on the same place. PS4 pro.
you don't have to do the warping part, just joining a random online game then saving should fix itTry joining a random online game, warping systems, then saving and quitting. Worked for my brother when he was crashing on load.
You need to fuel it. Enter the freighter tab in inventory, click on Technology. Hyperdrive is hidden in there unlike all other ships.Seriously though - can someone please tell me how to repair my freighter? Is that why it can't make jumps?
Google is useless. Please, if you know, can you take 2 seconds to type a reply...
Player numbers have been going up overall since NEXT. It's a mindblowing comeback from a game that went from ~250k at launch to a few thousand about a month afterwards.Noooo, NMS almost got to 100000 concurrent players on Steam but now player number are falling :(
I did that. It has a warp cell. Still says "cannot warp" on every system in the star map, and is red with "damaged" if I try to send on a mission. You need to fuel it. Enter the freighter tab in inventory, click on Technology. Hyperdrive is hidden in there unlike all other ships.
Fuel cells are for the frigates. Freighters take warp cells like normal ships.
From my understanding it works this way, based on the power generation -> mining -> manufacturing -> technology ->power generation loop:
A manufacturing economy produces manufacturing trade goods, which are cheap to buy there. So you buy them.
A technology economy needs manufacturing trade goods (which you just bought) which sell high there. It produces technology trade goods which are cheap to buy there.
A power generation economy needs technology trade goods which sell high there. It produces generation trade goods which are cheap to buy there.
A mining economy needs power generation trade goods which sell high there. It produces mining trade goods which are cheap to buy there.
And that's the loop.
Sorry, just want to be absolutely sure we're on the same page. You're on this menu and you've fueled it not just thrown a warp cell in its inventory?I did that. It has a warp cell. Still says "cannot warp" on every system in the star map, and is red with "damaged" if I try to send on a mission.
Could be a bug but the only other thing I can think of is if the stars you are selecting are ones you don't have the right hyperdrive for yet, red, blue or green stars?I did that. It has a warp cell. Still says "cannot warp" on every system in the star map, and is red with "damaged" if I try to send on a mission.
I don't think those rules apply to freighters.Could be a bug but the only other thing I can think of is if the stars you are selecting are ones you don't have the right hyperdrive for yet, red, blue or green stars?
Yesh
God damnit. I got 5 before I just quit and left. I could have just run inside!?If they're located next to a building (which they always seem to be for me), the aliens can't attack you if you pop in or even if you stay at the top of the ramp. They'll just wander and the burrow into the ground again. Did a farming run for about 2 million credits (albeit with a couple of deaths).
Do the red/blue lines on your backpack indicate anything? Or is that just random?

Ok, makes sense. The other loop he mentioned is Advanced Materials -> Scientific -> Trading. I'm in an Ore Processing (Advanced Materials) system that has a High Economy (Opulent). This is what shows up to buy at the trading post for this system:
According to the site the following are the 5 Trade items for Advanced Materials systems
Hovering over the images they correspond to Carbon Nanotubes, Self-Repairing Heredium, Optical Solvent, Superconducting Fibre, and Five Dimensional Torus. Going back to my images above and what's for sale in this system, none of those items seem to correspond to those categories? Am I supposed to buy all of the Oxygen Capsules and Unstable Plasma, and then flip it in a scientific system, which is where I should be going next in the loop?
If it's damaged that's not your freighter, that's a frigate. Your frigate can't jump outside of missions. Your freigher or capital ship isn't even selectable in missions.Correct.
I'd upload screens but Xbox apparently takes them in 4K for some stupid ass reason and they're too big to put anywhere.
But yes. It's fueled 100%. Can't warp anywhere. Damaged if I go to send on a mission.
It received damage during its last mission and I recalled it home early. Couldn't figure out what was "damaged" since all that seemed wrong was no Hyperdrive fuel. Fueled it with warp cell to 100%, but still says "no hyperdrive fuel" on star map.
WTF
Search for artifacts with the signal booster, go to the alien sites. Select the history option and do the buried treasure thing. Could give you a green item worth millions. Other than that do freighter and mission board missions that give an item reward. Usually at least 2 mil.How the hell is everyone getting rich? I can't even afford a new ship. I had to redeem my pre order ship from 2016.
I only have the one freighter though. Got it for free after my first jump. Did it come with a frigate then?If it's damaged that's not your freighter, that's a frigate. Your frigate can't jump outside of missions. Your freigher or capital ship isn't even selectable in missions.
Unless someone can tell me otherwise, it seems like they removed the whole trading items mechanic. There used to be dedicated pieces you could buy at a space station in a system of a certain type and then sell it for +100%. All of those are gone now. From my understanding it works this way, based on the power generation -> mining -> manufacturing -> technology ->power generation loop:
A manufacturing economy produces manufacturing trade goods, which are cheap to buy there. So you buy them.

Why would that make it so I can't jump though?
And if Buffalo I is a separate ship then how do I repair it?
Not sure why you can't jump. I know the "Hyperdrive has no fuel" thing was a bug on PC a couple days ago, maybe XB1 version for the fix is still in cert? As for repairing the Buffalo I, fly over to it. You'll get a communicator message when you land and then you can mark the damaged component. You actually board the ship, find the console or component that's broken and fix it with materials.I only have the one freighter though. Got it for free after my first jump. The skybox was always linked to the player in previous versions, with latitude having zero effect. No idea if they've changed it for Next, give than the scanner actually provides your lat/long, though...

You have to physically fly over to the damaged ship, board it, and do the repairs. Will take a variety of resources to do it whether that's 20 Gold and 20 Silver for example, or something like 25 Platinum.
Geez, I didn't even realize that was a separate ship. Not sure why you can't jump. XB1 users, is your freighter warp ability working? Please confirm for Mol.
Geez, I didn't even realize that was a separate ship.
The tutorials for all this new shit are broken as hell. "Press start for more information" and then pressing start just opens the damn discoveries page. So annoying.
I think I figured it out now. I didn't realize I had other ships that followed the freighter. Pretty damn annoying that you can't repair the shit from a menu though, what the hell.

Yeah, strange that there's not a single trade good to buy. Maybe at the space station?
And as far as I know only trade goods are affected by trade economics so buying/selling other goods based on the system won't make you a profit.
Guess that's what I'll have to do. I still can't warp in it after repairing the frigate. You know, you can just use your small ship to warp, then call your freighter to warp to your position for free. It's easiest done when on a planet as in space the areas a freighter can warp to is limited, I haven't actually used my freighter warp drive once because of this.
