Peace walker is availableOnly Revengeance though, right? Which also got a PC port while MGSHD stayed on consoles...
Speaking of which, how's MGR on BC? I have it on PS3 but I'd get the 360 version if it has solid framerate and such on a One X.

... I had to search for Peace Walker to find it, because Konami thought it would be a good idea to call it MGS instead of Metal Gear Solid. Fascinating though.
I'd have to respectfully disagree with you on this. Many people I personally know still have their Xbox 360 consoles and they use them to make purchases (despite having an Xbox One in their homes). They buy DLC and games... as well as subscribe to Gold for GwG and multiplayer.
At the end of the day, money is still money and 'an Xbox is an Xbox'. There's no reason we shouldn't take Microsoft at their word on there being a fix which doesn't require something quite so drastic. Speaking for myself here, I still use my 360 console in my gaming room as well... and I just bought a few games from the recent sale.
Cutting off a system from its own content might not go over well with every single person out there... especially with OG Xbox and X360 games generally still being considered "super niche" among the majority outside of this great forum -- the ones that decided not to keep their systems.
I believe in the Xbox team and trust that they will handle things well for all of their customers.
In that case, ANY game can be backwards compatible. However, I believe they want to make money, and that is why it has to be sold digitally.
Forza is all MS. I don't think they owned the series PGR, and they would have to pay Bizarre Creations or who ever owns the rights for it.
I thought they wanted their own racing game and that is why Forza was born? I thought there was some type of legality issue and that is why you don't see any PGR as backwards compatible.
They own both, but by that point in the PGR series, sales hadn't been growing. Hold-ups with releasing older PGR games likely relate to the licensed music.
I've already started playing NG II again on my 360, such a fantastic game. Easily my favorite of the three, I love the environments, enemy design and gameplay, it's all there are so solid. Hoping we will get it on BC soon, starting a new save to cloud save over if it ever shows up.
I see.
I thought there was also a problem with trademarks and licenses to such. PGR literelly had every single landmark, and every store (subway, sbarros, McDonalds etc etc) it was the most intense recreation I have ever seen.
Correct. Go look at how the game was made and that should make the issue pretty clear.
Never say never as part of this effort is about working out new license deals that can be more future proof, however some games will have bigger hurdles in this area than others.
Seems like the package contains the three games as separate discs (1 for 1 and 2 for 2 and 3 each). I'd just have to assume they'd work just like the standalone games' discs but I don't really know since I don't have the trilogy package.Random though: The Mass Effects are BC on Xbox One - is the Mass Effect Trilogy package also BC? Not sure how exactly that's handled.
I'm pretty sure all of the games are broken out so it'll download each one just like any other 360 game.Random though: The Mass Effects are BC on Xbox One - is the Mass Effect Trilogy package also BC? Not sure how exactly that's handled.
All 360 era Halo games are BC regardless of the existence of MCC just fine so I think they'll show up eventually. What are the chances of Halo 1 & 2 getting some back compact treatment as Original Xbox releases?
Or does the existence of MCC render this unlikely? I believe Halo 3 was still released and enhanced after the launch of MCC but I don't know if any of the others are as likely?

Just started playing Dead Space.
One of my work mates bought this at launch and absolutely loved it. He was begging me to play it for ages. I don't even know why but I never got round to it. Intended on doing but just didn't. Eventually it pretty much became a meme between us and I told him I'd never play it on principle at that point, just to annoy him. It's been like that for years.
This weekend I randomly caved in and I'm so glad I did. Only up to Chapter 3 but it's a superb survival horror. Also I can't believe how good it looks for such an old game. I'm sure the darker colour pallet does it some favours but it looks damn good.
Is Silent Hill Homecoming not appearing in the UK Xbox One store for anyone else?
Doing a search on my console only brings up the HD Collection and Downpour.
Yeah, a lot of 360/PS3 games still hold up really well.Just started playing Dead Space.

Isn't that the case for Mass Effect 3 as well though?
It's because the multiplayer is split on the second discBlame Warner. The multi-disc nut was cracked sometime ago but it's up to the publisher.
Yeah. Deus Ex Human Revolution I think was the first 2 disc game with a digital release or at least the first I knew (I only have the "Augmented Edition," but it looks like the standard edition is 2 discs too), but there's also Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2 and 3 ,and Halo 4 which all had digital releases and are all BC. Not to mention the 3 and 4 disc games Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. It did take a long while for some of them to get digital copies it appears though, like the Mass Effect games, those JRPGs and Dead Space 2. Also Rage was Backwards Compatible and wasn't available digitally until a few months after it was added to the program. I don't think Doom 3 BFG Edition (while only being 1 disc) was ever available digitally either, and that's BC.Blame Warner. The multi-disc nut was cracked sometime ago but it's up to the publisher.
That's what I figured, that it was a licensing issue but it didn't make sense since the disc version was available.Blame Warner. The multi-disc nut was cracked sometime ago but it's up to the publisher.
Adds to existing achievements you already unlocked. It's all the same account. If you play a 360 game on Xbox One through backwards compatibility that you already have achievements for, does it continue to earn the achievements for that or does it start a new set?
I'm calling it. One of the Crysis games.Another week... and another possible BC release is upon us. What will it be this week? Stay tuned, folks :)

During the BC special Inside Xbox show I think.
