A part of me is glad that we've circled back to Republicans protesting offensive comedy

Seeing comedians post on twitter "don't watch or follow comedy if you're easily offended" in response to right wing assholes instead of well intentioned liberals who were trying to explain "actually, punching down is not comedy. Punching up is comedy" to the professional makes feel me feel nostalgic. It's like the early 90s when The Simpsons were destroying family values and entered into a feud with The Bush family.

I was legitimately exhausted hearing otherwise good, liberal comedians crying and whining about being called out on twitter by the "PC police".(Looking at you, Jimmy Pardo)

Your mistake is in thinking that anyone conservative has any principles other than redistributing wealth to the white upper class. They will be back on their free speech crusade the next time some GG goon uses the racial, sexist or homophobic slurs.

They aren't offended by the jokes, they're using their past activity to smear them and "punish" them for anti-Trump positions.

They're not puritans, stop believing this.

They aren't protesting the jokes. They are protesting the people. Republicans don't give a single solitary shit about any of that. Republicans have no morals and have no shame. They just pretend to care so they can keep their base happy and keep claiming to be the party of god or whatever bullshit they usually say. Gotta keep those "Christian" votes no matter what. Like when Peter Strzok was testifying before congress and the one GOP member attacked him for cheating on his wife......while being apart of a party led by a man who cheated on his pregnant wife with a pornstar. That moron doesn't ACTUALLY care that Strzok cheated on his wife. He just has to pretend to care so he can win points with his base and the party.


Same goes for the Republican base as well for that matter. They hide their racism and their bigotry behind their "faith" and use it as a bludgeon against anything they don't like and use it as an excuse to strip rights from women and members of the LGBTQ community and anyone else that does things that go against their "religion". Then when you call out their bullshit you aren't protesting their bigotry you are protesting their "faith". You don't support gay rights! You hate Christians!


None of these people give a damn about any of this. But it fits the agenda they wanna push so they pretend to care and will most often use their "christian values" as the reason why.
