#1, how cool is the ability to buy and download remotely and come home to a game ready to play?

#2, what goodness awaits me, Era-fam? I haven't played FH since the original and have been on PS4 this gen until now. Is this as good as it looks and reviewed? Did it hold it's value/quality well?

#3, idk. I'm super excited. Should I be excited? I know FH4 is about 90 days out, but $30 for the complete version of FH3 seemed like too good a deal to pass on for now. Plus, I'll get GP and play 4 on there.

You are in for a treat, the game is fantastic in every way imaginable.

I love how these days we can go to work, order a game digitally and have it ready to play once we get home.

#1: ah we've been doing that for a while now lol. In fact we started being able to do that last gen. But yeah it's a cool feature to not have to wait for something to download.

#2: Game lives up to the hype and then some. The best racing game made this generation. Fun. That's the key element this game has. It's incredibly fun to play. You're in for a treat.

#3: Yes you should be excited lol.

Good times await. It's the best racing game ever and will eat up hundreds of hours if you let it.

There's still something inherently magical about doing something as simple as queuing a demo within a web browser and it just showing up on my hardware when I get home.

Did it with the Warioware Gold demo recently.

Forza Horizon 3 is now one of my all-time favorite games, and I'm generally not too interested in racing games. My time with 3 is the reason why I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of 4. I didn't care as much for 2, but I played it after I played 3, so it may just be the improvements in 3 that kept me from fully enjoying 2. And yes, I love being able to pre-load or simply purchase stuff from work and have it already downloaded when I get home. I feel as though a lot of people who gripe about waiting for downloads don't always look at things that way.

Did the first three or four races and it's fun so far! Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. But it didn't download in the background. Was it because my One X was not set as my home console (which it is now)?

It's glorious. That's all you need to know.

So much content in that game. Still working my way through it. And the expansions...my goodness. Blizzard Mountain was a treat, but the Hot Wheels pack was surreal. I finished both, and then realized I still hadn't worked my way through more than half of the base game. It is a treat!

It's a great game, OP. I just got it myself about two months ago (base game + hot wheels expansion) and have had a blast with it. Looks fantastic on the One X.

#1 Yeah it's a great feature. Steam has the same option and it's great and I hope more platforms let you do this.

#2 It's the best arcade racer this gen and it's not even close. By far the most content and it's actually fun to race since you can tailor the difficulty perfectly to your own settings and aren't penalized for not being 1st all the time. It's actually quite an underrated feature, I feel other racers become far too easy or artificially difficult and quickly become annoying.

#3 Yes you should absolutely be excited. When I first bought Forza Horizon 3, I went in with zero expectations and pretty much played for 6 hours straight without realizing it. I hope you have the same fantastic experience!

Regardless of what Forza Horizon 4 will be, Forza Horizon 3 is probably the best arcade racer since Need For Speed Underground. Insane graphics on the X, fantastic soundtrack, perfect handling, a shitload of content and customization, a stunning atmosphere... it's just so easy to immerse yourself in that world. It also helps that it has two of the strongest DLCs of the entire franchise. So yeah, you're in for quite a treat. And since Forza Horizon 4 will be on Game Pass at launch, you can jump on the sequel when you want for pretty cheap. Though, of course, it may not be necessary for a while: you can definitely play Horizon 3 for a looooong time.

Wanted to jump in and jump out this morning before work... ended up playing 45 minutes. Yikes. This thing is so good. Wreaking havoc on the countryside and finding these crazy jumps is such a nice change of pace. I also just got my 2nd car (picked the Lambo) and pretty much maxed it out, so we'll see how that goes lol.

Anyone have tips for earning the most currency / credits?

You're in for a treat - I played a bit with my morning coffee even. The game just keeps pulling you in.

Just run races...never have been at a loss for currency. If you want to earn cars faster, do the Forzathon events and use their car deals. You get premium cars at cheap prices. But simply playing the game, leveling up your locations and getting more XP is more than enough to get the cars you want or need. With over 700+ in the game, there's definitely something for everyone.

Buying digital is still a magic experience for me, even now, 5 years after the generation has started. I love buying something and being able to play it quickly. And it's getting even better with Microsoft's Fast Start tech. If you're on Alpha/Beta dashboards, give it a try.

As for Forza Horizon 3 on the Xbox one X.. It's just and plain absurd how good looking it is. You gonna have to pick your jaw from the floor, I guarantee it.

One of my favorite games of the generation and top 3 racing games of all time. Poured so much time in to that game and still love going back to it, especially after the 1X update. You're in for a real treat! Enjoy.

Forza Horizon 3 is probably the best forza game in a generation. It's just so good and I loved FH2. You are in for a treat.

Isn't it cool? I really enjoy being able to buy something on my phone and have it automatically download while I'm out or at work. I still like being able to buy discs sometimes, but I've been enjoying the digital benefits for a while. I guess being a PC guy makes this an easier pill to swallow anyways.

Hey, guys, I'm on like my 5th or 6th car, yet I still haven't unlocked barn finds, to my knowledge. Is there a specific event or something I must complete? Or am I supposed to be clued in to there being one around when a orange/brown circle appears over a broad area on the minimap? Anything that distinguishes "barn finds" at all, visually? Or any sound played when you're near one? I feel like an idiot.

a big purple circle will show up when a barn find is available - you can't miss em on the map

The circle with a barn in it represents the area containing a barn find. You can go into drone mode and zip around to mark it and drive there, or you can just drive around until you find it.

Purple? OK. What are the brown/tan/orange area circles?

Oh, ok, so there's an actual barn icon?
Only after you've found the barn. You have to drive/fly the drone around to find it and make it show on the map.

Forza Horizon 3 is one of the best games of all time IMO. Absolutely amazing, made all the much better by the Australian setting as an Aussie that visits 3 of the locations regularly.

From what I recall, the barn finds wouldn't show up until you got a call from your garage-dude and he'd tell you about it and that would put the purple circle on your map. I guess it has been a while since I've had barn finds "available" though, so I might be remembering that wrong.

It's a great game that I have to get back to it someday.

Does the version you bought include the DLCs ? Especially the hot wheels one.

I probably would have just waited for 4 but honestly it's a fantastic game you won't regret it. Don't forget Forza horizon 2 is free with gold next month too that's also fantastic but might seem a bit limiting after 3

That's a shame, I only like arcade racers.
I was the same, only really played need for speed. Got Forza horizon 2 when NFS was taking a year off and absolutely fell in love. I don't even buy NFS any more .

Fh2 is free with gold next month. Definitely recommend trying it out I'm confident you will like it

Yeah in the Xbox Sale it includes Everything in the Platinum version, I think it was/is $39.99 and I got it for PC and MS gave me a $10 coupon to start the sale. One of the best deals I have bought for $30
