You know what, that's a legit great design for the product. It's not going to be hugely appealing to expensive, well-tuned decks or likely to raise the overall power-level of the format, but it's something that a deck that doesn't ramp that hard is going to want a lot of the time playing against those sorts of decks, which is exactly the situation for someone playing a Commander deck off-the-shelf against customized ones.

And as a bonus it's just sort of a nice card for mitigating manascrew, which can still totally be a thing in Commander due to a lot of decks just not doing much in the 1-3 mana range. It's rarely going to be a feel-bad card since in the worst scenario it's a 3 mana scry and that's totally a thing to be doing with your mana when you don't have plays.

It's way too conditional. No tuned deck whether casual or competitive will want this land considering that there are so many good colorless utility lands available.

Can you just copy Arixmethes with Vesuva or Thespian's Stage while it's still a land?

Because turning a Thespian's Stage into a 12/12 that also taps for mana seems pretty good second place to a Dark Depths.

Drafted M19 yesterday and the price pool was crazy, Bolas, Crucible and Resplendent Angel. Finally got my Bolas too since I drafted an insane deck and went 6-0. People in my pool really didn't see the signals, too many of them shared green while I got passed 3rd pick murder :D

Also had three BR tap duals so it was too easy to splash. Usually when the prices are this good my decks suck!

Alright, so life has hit me and shit happened, but ready to get back into Magic. Figured I would ask here first before just buying from elsewhere, but I want to get into Modern and was looking to buy a deck. If anyone has one they are looking to get rid of, let me know and hopefully we can work something out.

In the past I've played Merfolk, Affinity, and Dredge. Would be interested in anything else that is at least competitive.

Affinity has moved into green for hardened scales and ancient stirrings to be better against the artifact hate KCI attracts, merfolk is mostly the same having given up the green from Ixalan but also essentially a bad humans deck, dredge is dredge good one time bad the next depending on SB slots. Hollow One appears to do its job better but it won an event recently.

Grabbed two Battlebond six-packs from the GameStop B1G75% sale and cracked the Kenrith twins, literally the only planeswalkers that I find tolerable lol.

Grabbed a Master's 25 three-pack too and didn't get anything of monetary value but YAY I finally have Armageddon!

So if i cast one partner commander twice and the other once, does that count as three casts for those spells?

Very cool card. Shame there's only like a dozen ninjas in the game - hard to build a deck around.

If it doesn't say ninja it doesn't count!

I can't imagine anything lamer than a dude using a ninja deck full of Changelings or whatever. Feels so against the spirit of a tribal deck.

Aminatou's preview article goes into a lot of detail about her.
* Aminatou can see the future and manipulate fate through the touch of intangible moths she controls. She adjusts her own fate often, making it to grow up to be a great singer at times, a queen at others. Because of this, she is extremely knowledgeable, but she is still childish and fickle.
* She only has parents when she wants to.
* She's eight years old. She sparked for no apparent reason--she claims she saw the future where she sparked and wasn't interested in waiting.
* They deliberately aimed to make a little girl character that wasn't the delicate and accommodating, but also didn't fall into the equally offensive stereotype of a girl who proves her "strength" by rejecting anything girly. She happily wears dresses, but she isn't infantilizing.
* Aminatou is from an undefined West African plane, not Zhalfir (which also has some Roman theming). There are no plans to make that plane right now, but if there's a good response, they'll look into hiring a cultural consultant to develop the plane.

So far the Esper deck is looking the most interesting. Both Yennett and Aminatou look like cool build arounds.

Enjoy that lion art now since that card will probably get emergency banned
Sounds like it's art exclusive to the DnD book, so no card.

A bunch of other cards were revealed for the Commander decks in today's official stream, but they're reprints, the full reveal is tomorrow anyway, and I'm lazy.

I'm glad they're (ever so slowly...) reprinting more of the tapped fetch-lands - I really like them. However, and I know I am a sucker for old borders so that's part of it, I don't like how they adjust the art / how they look in the new frames. It just makes it look cheaper to me.

Flood Plain in a Duel Deck: https://scryfall.com/card/ddi/34/flood-plain
Mountain Valley in Commander 2018: https://scryfall.com/card/c18/268/mountain-valley

Anyway, looking forward to the full spoiler reveal tomorrow... and then to the Interests page to see the fallout in the following days :\

Any hope of us getting the decklists today? Doesn't seem like they can stretch spoilers out for another week
