What's the screen resolution? How's the upscale? What emulator are they using? Is there input lag?

These informations don't seem to be available on the web site.

Edit: also what arcade parts are they using? Is there an option for convex buttons?
The company will be showcasing these at Evo and I will definitely be there messing around with them! With Evo already next week I betcha all the hardcore ST players will have all the answers.

So Walmart selling these for $299.... has to be a price error right? Are they really selling these intentionally for a HUNDRED dollars less than MSRP?

Awesome, I ordered a couple of these since they're unexpectedly cheaper at Walmart. I was originally going to wait and see if these are legit but this way I'll be able to check them out to see if I'll keep my preorder.

Hard to tell if it truly is indeed a price error. I've seen a few people promoting the product on Twitter saying "You can preorder right now for $300-$400!" and I'm sure these guys were paid to do it. You would think they would of caught it a day later, but they are all still $300

This is a pretty good fit for me. A smallish cabinet works space-wise, and the price is definitely more palatable than the higher-end custom MAME cabinets. Would be nice if you could pick and choose or swap out titles though, but I couldn't pass up on the pre-order deal for the Rampage cabinet.

I definitely dig some of these titles but not enough to want a dedicated cabinet of them. Gonna keep an eye out for their 2019 releases.

Get me some Ghosts 'n' Goblins up in here and we'll talk.

Edit: Wait nooooo that's in the Final Fight cabinet. Fuck fuck fuck.

Edit 2: Thankfully I don't really have a place for this at the moment. Hopefully the company and product are around when I move into a house next year.

I remember seeing the Wal-Mart site selling these, they are interesting, I must admit, but there is no way that I have the money, nor the space for that in my house :-D

If they did this, but for japanese style arcades, like blast city, neo geo or capcom impress, that would be perfect.

Those would never be logistically feasible because of the way those cabinets are designed and the plastic molding. The ones here can be packaged neatly and compactly because of all the flat panels and the wood.

Just FYI their twitter said in a reply that the Final Fight cabinet is temporarily delayed and they will have news soon on when it will be available. That is definitely the one I am looking for, but the SFII one is tempting too.

Was so tempted to pre-order from Wal-Mart for that lower price, but am going to hold off to see how the quality is on these things first. If they're going to be bringing demo units to EVO, then we hopefully shouldn't have to wait too long to get some unbiased impressions. Am also more interested in the cocktail units that they're working on...even though I don't really have the space for any kind of arcade machine in my place, lol.

Would also only want to get one if they're either easy to mod and add more games to or remove whatever is inside and plug in a PC/Pi/whatever instead. And I guess for that kind of thing, the SF2 unit would be the best choice, since it has six buttons.

I'm really torn on getting one of these for my basement vs just building my own full size mame cab. I wonder how easy this thing will be to install MAME on.

I wish I could preorder the Final Fight cabinet. That one seems to be nowhere.

I want the street fighter cab and a low end pc to run retroarch/finalburn alpha. Street Fighter 3 needs me on a cab! I dont want to dedicate my ps4 just for my SF30th collection.

Damn, these are cool! I want the Street Fighter and the Final Fight cabs... Probably the risers as well. I'm curious if these have a scanline effect in place. Hopefully!

Based on.the video it looks like you could plug in any HDMI out device into it.

Oh really? That would be great. From what I saw, it looked like a proprietary ribbon cable that connected the control box to the monitor. I also saw some tweets from the company that it would be a closed system.

It's in their best interest to have a closed system, otherwise why buy more than one?

Yeah, agreed. After checking the FAQ mentioned, it seems like it will be designed to prevent modding

Can I modify my machine to play additional games?
No, our systems are closed, and proprietary. No modifications can be made.

No doubt it will be proprietary and a closed system, but people are going to try.

Also the whole "You could build your own AND for cheaper!" was bothering me so I decided to look around for something exactly how Arcade1Up advertise and I found an EXACT alternative.
Already sold out, https://www.recroommasters.com/19-X...spberry-Pi-and-PC-p/rm-xt-alpha-emulation.htm is also 3/4 a size of a normal arcade cabinet and nearly match the dimensions of the arcade1up machines.

For that recroommasters cab you get
+Bigger LCD as it fits up to a 19"
+More and better buttons confirmed Suzo Happ connects to USB Pi Controller, not sure if it works on PC, but I think it does
+Sticks tilted downward, which is how I remember them
+Customization, as you can connect via HDMI as you supply your own monitor.

-More expensive $350 + $100 (S/H to NV for me, company based out of GA), Pi is +$50, monitor is +$80 = ~$600
-Monitor is not flush and looks weird with a monitor sitting on the cab.
-No authentic Arcade Stickers (I never realize I wanted the authentic SF2 Arcade stickers until I saw this model lol)
-Spend time tinkering with RetroPi and Pi

^ I have a Recroom Masters sit-down pedestal cabinet w/ a benq monitor, running PS4 & DC and it's phenomenal. Much more expensive than these cabs when all is said and done, but a ridiculous amount of flexibility. Their arcade sticks are very high quality and use Brook converters, so you have a lot of console/PC options.

I guess my point is, I would maybe wait for impressions on these. There are a lot of unanswered questions- game performance and stick button quality being the two major ones. If you are serious about having a nice arcade setup, it might be worth putting a little extra aside for something that's of known quality and flexible.

So I tweeted them about the lack of scanlines/crt filters and they seem to be clueless about it. The last answer makes me think that whoever is in charge of their twitter has no idea what scanlines/crt filters are and believes we want a real crt in there.

My issue with it is that it firs widescreen monitors only and a 19" widescreen monitor has less real estate for gaming than a 17" 4:3 one
This is a concern. I also don't like the default art on the Rec room one. But I'm not feeling good about being able to customize the games on the 1up machine so I'm leaning towards Rec room arcade. I'll wait for impressions from Evo though before making a decision.

I'm positive I'll be able to take whatever shitty system they have in there and replace it with something like an odroid and use the gpio connection to use my own hardware

Especially if they are serious about not having scanlines/crt filters

I want this...but I want a two player bartop machine for MAME even more. If I could find such a kit, I'd go with that instead.

Still, I'll see about the reviews for this...

I never thought of it like that, I could of swore the 19" was more screen real estate but you are probably right because of aspect ratios.

Also, no doubt they are looking to capitalize on the NES/SNES Classic market this holiday season.

I've literally watched every video that company has put out and I just lol when the CEO says he played Street Fighter growing up then proceeds to button mash, not even a fireball. Also at once point he says the SF cab has SF1, SF2, and SF3 like really? Definitely will confuse some people, but the stickers clearly show 3 versions of SF2

If you are in the US GameRoomSolutions has a very nice noob friendly kit. It will run you about 500$ fully decked though (pi3/odroid included)

trackball one seems nice, I used to love playing Crystal Castles but only one shop ever had it that I knew of and it wasn't a place I could visit regularly as a kid. I don't think I ever got to play Millipede.

I also remember all the times my palm would get pinched by the cabinet because of the trackball, lol. Probably the only thing keeping me from splurging on it (that and lack of any actual room to place it).

That guy claims the ribbon cable looks similar but it doesn't at all.
Yep, they look different to me. Also, these are two different companies so doubt it's as easy as swapping cable onto a different board. The Arcade1UP has a laptop display ribbonlike cable. Also that MyArcade can be connected through USB OTG Cable which it uses the Micro USB port for charging. I haven't seen any ports on the Arcade1UP yet

That looks like an scsi/ide cable rather than a laptop one. Which leads me to think it has a gpio connector on the board.

I seriously doubt they developped a brand new sbc just for this.
