Talk about cringeworthy. Out of every episode ive seen of any show, including Walking Dead and GoT, this had to be the most uncomfortable episode to watch because its so cringey.

If this isnt it for you, whats the most uncomfortable episode youve watched of any show?

I think Scott's Tots is probably it. If something beats it, I can't think of it. It's SO tough to watch.

Very cringeworthy. I actually enjoy some cringe comedy and find a lot of the The Office to have that awkward type of humor to it (The Dundies would be an example of it done right), but Scott's Tots specifically was just cringe and didn't have the humor, besides for a few little bits.

But by that time, the show was already on a downward trajectory.

Basically Michael Scott (the main character of The Office) promised a group of kids years prior that he would promise to pay their entire tuition for college. Then the day before they graduate, he has to go in and tell them thats not happening.

And he only tells them after hours of the students celebrating him and singing him songs and stuff.

I'd say it's probably the most uncomfortable episode of The Office, but I feel like almost any episode of Nathan for You trumps it. "Hotel/Travel Agent" is one of my favorite heart-churners.

Marking spoilers in case anyone's sensitive to it, but if you don't care and want to know why:

It features a sound proof "fun" box for your kid in the hotel room so that parents can still have sex while on vacation with their kids. This is tested with a real child while several porn stars engage in an orgy a few feet away from the box as the child's parents look on.

This is also a fantastically difficult to watch Nathan for You moment.

Wow, we had the exact same topic on here a couple of weeks ago.

That being said, yeah, it's definitely up there.

I'm watching the original UK Office and honestly, it's way worse with the discomfort. It's a constant haze of depressing soullessness - it's like the US Office without those glimmers of hope.

It's fantastic. Watching them wrestle Martin Freeman's shoe off to whip it over the pub and steal his win is way harder to watch.

The Office (US) "Garden Party" is up there, too.

Yep, then continues by making it up them by giving them laptop batteries lol.

Even the B plot with employee of the month, while not ad bad, added to the episode as well.

Scott's Tots is an amazing episode, tbh. That episode sets out to make you feel uncomfortable as fuck and it hits a home run

Scott's Tots always came off as kind of contrived to me, like the writers struggled to come up with the most socially irresponsible setup. Always thought Phillys' Wedding was peak office cringe with the dinner party coming as a strong second.

While I'm aware that The Office reruns are on a constant loop on some channel or another, are they REALLY REALLY on all the time everywhere because there seems to be an Office thread twice a week and people in general are spending 40% of their free time watching The Office in the past year or two

When this thread pops up (average time is every 5 minutes), my response is:

The episode where he involuntarily outs oscar is 1000 times worse

Its definitely one of those shows you can easily have on in the background and binge but not pay attention to it. The same with Parks and Rec

It was absolute peak Michael Scott. One of the best episodes ever. The lap top battery giveaway gets me howling in tears however many times I see the episode.

I didn't think it was cringeworthy, I actually felt sorry for Michael Scott. At least he didn't run away from the problem, he did the hard thing and told them the truth.

If you want an additional dose of cringe, the plot of "Scott's Tots" has occurred in real life more than once.
