Games with Gold for August - For Honor, Forza Horizon 2, Dead Space 3, Epic Mickey 2

Dead Space 3 is not a bad game. Sure, it may not be as great as the first two but it's still damn worth playing.
I only have a ps4 currently, but that is an amazing lineup.
Everyone should jump into For Honor and FH2.

Awesome stuff. Microsoft is killing my backlog this year between all great Game Pass deals and occasionally some solid Games With Gold too. If it's engagement that they want then they are succeeding because they are getting most of mine. Excited to play For Honor and Forza Horizon 2 in particular.
Best month Games with Gold has had in a very long time. Not a single indie game in the lineup and some really high quality AAA games at that.
It's a great time to join in on the war, the games had a lot of momentum since e3 and all the updates so it's been more fun jumping in and out lately with fresh players
I already played most of Horizon 2 unfortunately but it's good for people who haven't yet. For honor...you'd have to pay me to take that.
As for the 360 games well I guess I can finally see just how awful dead space 3 is for myself. I've only heard horrible things about it.

I might be wrong, but I think they gave it just before it was delisted.
I'm not very into racing games, but FH3 is one of the best racers of all time.

It definitely is, but by any other standard it's still a great racing game.
It's my favorite thus far. 3 seemed too cluttered and had a more complicated progression system and I enjoyed the setting better in 2.
Damn I'm glad I didn't jump on For Honor a while back. I'm down to get back in.

Say what you will about Dead Space 3's monetization, it was still an absolutely incredible game without paying a dime for them.

8-10 hour campaign, solo or co-op.
It's pretty meme-filled with a cringey story, but it has fun set pieces and you can play it on a really hard Realistic mode without the UI so that adds some real challenge
And there's versus AI//PVE to play instead of matchmaking multiplayer

Nice to get FH2 digital, I'm recently revisiting the series to pick up on the DLC I'd never touched, and while I have a physical FH2, a digital one is more convenient.
Oddly, though, FH2 is something of the red-headed stepchild of the series for me; I played through the first and loved it, and still kept going until I'd completed every race; I played through the third and loved it, and still pick it up for the occasional Forzathon, I played through FH2 up to the Final Showcase and then... stopped. I'm not entirely sure why, to be honest, but it might be time to think about giving it a second chance.

In a week it will be, and it's an incredible game. And despite what almost literally everyone else has said, I thought it had a great single-player campaign. Sure, it's basically a super long tutorial, but I had an absolute blast playing through it and I thought it had some awesome set-piece fights.
