Why DP3? Both films have been amazing and it would be a shame to lose Reynolds as Deadpool.
I'm stoked to see Feige and co get their hands on the villains Fox owns, more so than the x-men and the fantastic four.
That's hard to believe, given the X-Men films of the past which while have been uneven in quality haven't produced anything as bad as that (Wolverine Origins excepting).
Yeah both of them will tank, the whole delay and re-shoots plus Simon Kinberg as a first time director for Dark Phoenix and one of the writers of Last Stand don't really give much hope. I wouldn't be surprised if either or both were shelved.
Disney haven't spent a cent on these films. They would be stupid to release a bad X-men film and futher damage the brand when they are going to reboot it. Look at the damage Justice League did.

The whole thing with New Mutants sounded like it ran into the same problems as Suicide Squad. Even before this article came out, we had known about some reshoots that brought the movie closer to the Director's original intent.

I don't believe any of this. New Mutants I could see being released as a straight-to-streaming film, but Dark Phoenix sounds like too big of an investment to drop... even if it was as bad as Fantastic Four.

It depends. If they are considered to be a possible detriment to the future MCU movies, they won't get a theatrical release. Maybe straight to Hulu.
Successful MCU X-Men movies stand to make Disney more money than they'd lose by shelving two Fox movies that they didn't even put up the money for.
This malarkey. Disney has no say for 2 years, and fox put too much money into both for them not to see light before coming out.

I remember Kevin Feige said that when the rights of X-Men, Fantastic Four and the other Marvel superhero properties that were owned by 20th Century Fox are given to Marvel Studios and of course Disney, they will give their control after the Fox-Disney deal is done.

Disney doesn't give a rats ass or have any say about the X-Men right now. Their plans for them are likely pretty far away before they're realized.
Fox is going to release these films, one way or another.
There's zero chance that Anya Taylor Joy would be the actor to get dumped if someone else was a problem on set. She's going to be huge.
Marketing budgets are huge and rival production costs - why not call it a sunk cost and move on if it's going to be a detriment to a brand you're about to rebuild.
