Oh, I was wondering about the jury format... Seems beyond stupid and it has so many chances to backfire. As much as they have done stupid twists, this one takes the cake unless there is some element of the twist we are not familiar with.
The people on extinction island that make it to the jury will vote for the one that sticked with them, right?
Yes, the system seems designed to completely screw up the game.
The only positive things (that on one hand are very fucked up) to come out of this is that they get such a backlash that makes them chill with the over the top twists for a couple of years.
I wonder how Jeff is going to sell the "make big moves" after the merge when there is going to be nobody in the jury to see them. I guess they have to go really hardcore with the conditions on this island ot avoid people getting a free pass to Ponderosa, but we'll see...
Also, don't think I saw it posted here, but the new seasosn of Survivor Australia begins the 1st of August.

Is it true that Russell Hantz is on AU Survivor this season? I know there were rumors a while back.
I don't think so. I think the cast has mostly been revealed by this point and I didn't see anything. Don't think there's been anything said about Russell on it since that Inside Survivor rumor.
If it's true that Russell is in Survivor AU, that's something that the show WON'T reveal until the 1st of August.
Inside Survivor is unlikely to get something that big wrong. Also, Russel would definitely be the very last cast member revealed.
Well it wouldn't surprise me after the stunt NZ pulled! But my guess is if true his reputation will still haunt him. A shame, his idol play is unparalleled; but when you play the crew more than the contestants you're going to get burned.

The worst part about this is it most likely means they are labeling him as a "Champion at life" lol
Maybe a good thing out of this is we can get is crazy drunk rambling on RHAP again.
Survivor Maryland doesn't have the production value, but this season has been amazing.

I'm really hoping Russell puts on a good show. I wish he would be back on US Survivor sometime. Surely they want him back? I assume he's just not thrilled with the idea of taking two months off work to get voted out ASAP just based on who he is alone?
Wasn't there a specific reason he hasn't returned?
I know his nephew hasn't because he is psycho.
I took it as just CBS having Hantz fatige in general. Brandon crazy on Survivor, Russell just running his mouth and then Willie getting ejected from BB all in a short time span made them want to lay back on any more Hantz'.
Just finished up watching Survivor New Zealand.....
Now looking forward to seeing Russell's return and watching Survivor Australia on Wednesday!
Glad to see Lisa edge out Tess. She played a better game and deserves it. I respect how Tess played as well but she mostly let everyone in her alliance strategize for her and went along with it. She was a beast on those final two challenges which got her into the final 3. Dave I think was hurt by Matt revealing they were childhood friends right before final tribal but I don't think it would have made any difference in the outcome. He may have got a vote or two but Lisa still wins.
Now looking forward to seeing Russell's return and watching Survivor Australia on Wednesday!

Makes more sense to leave it here honestly. No ones watching that that didn't watch US Survivor anyway. You might catch new viewers too.
I think it has to either be a AUS season 3 thread or a general thread for non US survivor? I don't think a dedicated AUS season Survivor thread would get more than 3/4 pages total, but either way, people can have the discussions divided, since there is going to be overlap in time between AUS and US seasons.
I'm pretty sure the last Survivor AU thread was more than 4 pages

I was proposing the non US survivor thread because it seems like some people are also watching Survivor New Zealand and Survivor South Africa, and those definitely wouldn't stand with threads on their own.
I enjoyed it. It's worth the watch.
Also in regards to a new thread for Survivor Australia, I'm all for it but would prefer something like a general Survivor thread that encompasses all the non-US shows. Like llehuty said, I don't think there would be much activity in threads created specifically for the non-US shows. I only know of a couple people, including myself, that watched Survivor New Zealand. I would be surprised if we even made it to page 2 had we created a thread for it.

I suspect so. SoleSurvivor is doing the OT and he set up the fantasy league last season. If he doesn't want to for some reason, I'm happy to set it up.

Sign in/Sign up at Fantasy Tribal Council and click JOIN PRIVATE LEAGUE.

For those new to this - pick any 8 people right away and click save changes. Then on the next step, choose which 5 are starting (earning points) and which 3 are benched. You can keep changing your picks and who is starting until about an hour before the season starts on Wednesday, Sept. 26th. Better to have picks you don't like then forgetting to sign back in and pick no one at all. The website has a rules category so you can see how points are earned and lost, but honestly - no way to really know how anyone is going to do pre-season. You're mostly just picking faces/personalities that you vibe with.
My goal is to have the Season 37 OT up on Sunday the 23rd, a few days before the season premieres, so that episode one commentary can start on the first page. I'll be crossposting this Fantasy League info into that OT at that time, but we can all get a jump on this now.

Going to jump in this season I think. I haven't watched a season with any consistency since China, which I loved.

Welcome back! A lot has changed. I got back into it about 6 years ago now and it's been a blast ever since.
Yeah, I got back into it by watching about of YT videos by Perdidium (or something like that), which convinced me that it was worth another shot.
On the downside the videos spoiled most of the seasons so catching up on the backlog won't be as enjoyable.
