It's basically SCP: The Game, and I'm all in on this.

I'm glad we're getting more more surreal architecture in games. Too few games really mess with not so much reality but the way we interact with both positive and negative space in the game.

I have high hopes for this game.

Day 1 for me, always thought qb was cool but dont have an xbox. Its funny that remedy basically invented gaming bullet time and can still find ways to make interesting games with it.

> "Introducing the gameplay"
> 90% of the video is about storytelling

Remedy, I'm not worried about storytelling, I know ya'all are some of the best in the business at it. Kind of just want to learn more about the gameplay. This video didn't really say anything that we didn't already know from E3. I'm also slightly concerned about the world; everything shown so far looks same-same. I hope the building/world will have some variety.

hey, thanks! story is super important to us, so it's great that you're a fan.

as the video says, this is just an introduction to gameplay, so an overview of what you can expect and how we're approaching designing it. the game's still in development, things are still subject to change, but we'll be revealing more details down the line.

oh it will - we'll be talking about that in future dev diaries!

Super excited for this game. The destruction looks so good. As someone who loved Quantum Break's time abilities, I have no doubt Remedy is going to nail these telekinesis powers, at least from what we have seen so far.

I love that they are moving to less linear level design and more environmental storytelling. The best way to tackle stories in games for me.

I think the fact that they described it as Metroidvania like really got me interested in this game, as opposed to say Quantum Break. With this sort of surreal world that they're building, and the movement abilities and powers, I think there's potential for the level design to be top notch.

If Remedy can actually announce a large game like this one year and release it the next, I will be very impressed. I normally expect civilizations to rise and fall during the time Remedy announces a game and the time I can actually play it.

Do we know if this game is large compared to their other games? It seems smaller in scope than Quantum Break and Alan Wake.

I loved that Remedy came out and talked about how this game is heavily influenced by SCP because let's be frank, this is SCP with guns.

It's one of my highly anticipated games next year.

I've been there Day 1 for every Remedy game since Max Payne and I'm not gonna let that streak die with Control! As others have echoed, I, too, loved Quantum Break. I am especially impressed someone from Microsoft took it upon themselves to give the game a much-needed Xbox One X enhancement. I'm expecting even better results with Remedy surely taking advantage of the Pro/X themselves.

I wish I could watch those dev diaries, but I have a strict rule of doing a media blackout for games that I am super hyped for. I do appreciate the idea of these and Remedy giving insight in that type of format.

hahaha scp with guns! that made me laugh :D

we can't not acknowledge scp when people bring it up, that's for sure - I can see how people make the connection, being a fan of scp myself! but the primary inspiration for our writing team is still new weird. I think it's very exciting, personally, because new weird isn't the kind of genre you see often in video games, and I'm really interested to see how players react to our take on it.

I mean, Quantum Break was like 6-7 hours at most not counting the episodes

I can see Control actually being longer. The devs even mentioned there will be side missions in this for example.

Length of actual gameplay is not indicative of scale and scope. At least that's what I interpreted what "large" meant.
