Recommend some good vacuums

You can get a little dyson for under $300 these days.

People will tell you dyson is a scam, and I don't know, maybe it is. I just know we went from buying a new vacuum cleaner every couple years to having our little dyson work for 9 years now with no problems. It was more up front, but a way better value overall.

Ooh, would appreciate recommendations as well. Have an old, small Oreck vacuum that feels like it might be on its last legs.

All you need is the Dyson Animal

I just got a factory refurbished Dyson dc65 animal for like 300 or 200 bucks off. It was 189. Livingsocial.com irrc.

It's amazing for how cheap it is, the build quality is pretty good (lasted over four years and counting), the bags are easy to replace and last a long time, and the suction has remained consistent. They're far better than Dyson's in my opinion.

They have cat and dog version (eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/Miele-Comp...=miele+dog&dpPl=1&dpID=41iCnSjr9mL&ref=plSrch) and I'd be shocked if they weren't worth the money.

Miele. Don't bother with anything else. Buy the cheapest one and then get the accessories you need unless the bundle is cheaper.

A few years ago we took our old bagless vacuum to a repair shop and the guy just said we should throw it out and that bag vacuums are better. We bought a Hoover after that and personally I find it to be true. The bag vacuum cleans much deeper than the bagless one ever did, and depending on the size of the space you're cleaning, you really don't have to change the bag that often.

I've had really good experiences with Shark vacuums, I have the duoclean and it works well.

The beater bars pop out easily for cleaning and have channels to run a knife or scissors along to cut tangled hair, which is amazing when you have pets.
