Alfyn is living the bench life for me haha.

Same here. I might try to find a spot for him later, but right now he's taking a break.

But Alfyn is amazing!
His concoctions are an awesome way to break elemental defenses without needing to have access to magic. Wanna hit every enemy on the screen twice with thunder? Just throw some powder at them!

Ophilia can die on the bench, as far as I'm concerned.

What is Arianna working as? This game is too deep in the sex worker department even pervy Xenoblade 2 does not even hint at sex this much

Ophilia is MVT saves my butt too much to ever bench she is my second highest level and now has a Skill that allows her to heal beyond her max HP she is just ridiculously good

Do you have Victor's Hollow unlocked? It's east from there. If not, then fast travel to Swarkii, then go left, right, right. See below map if you need further guidance.

Thanks for this. God damn I feel like an idiot right now.. 23 hours in and never even realised you can fast travel. I have been walking everywhere.

We all should celebrate the noble ways of beating up strangers in towns, only to loot their stuff and/or steal/buy things from the other inhabitants.
Purchasing is totally noble!

Challenge... depends who you challenge.

Stealing candy from kids though, that's really low. They're worth like 10 gold or something.

That's what I call a "Tressa". :)

(And Tressa brings me money.)

It makes this game very diverse and well balanced when everyone can find a favorite even among someone else's least favorite. Tressa is pretty cool with me since I spend 2 hours getting 400,000 whatever that money is called here at the money grind cave lol but already spent it all on weapons in Grandport much grind that money cave again soon

Yeah, you buy the candy from the kids. They're totally ripping you off and will be able to buy more candy than they had before after you pay them! ^^

Yes it's an underrated joy of the game because it's not immediately apparent: everyone's playthrough will be totally different based on where one starts and personal preferences.

I switched up my team a lot while doing chapters 1 and 2, but kept to my favorite four for their chapters 3 and 4.
My goal is to finish their chapters 4, go find the secret sub jobs, and go back to the other characters equipped with these secret jobs for their respective final two chapters. Should make the game more enjoyable... despite Ophilia.

I enjoy having favorites but doing every chapter 1 so far and now almost all chapter 2s I really love how the paths are connected by NPCs other travelers interact with so you can't really bench anyone and get the whole feel for the lore and story

I often hate religion themes but Ophilia is still one of my favorites you should get her an attack subjob like warrior or hunter if you are finding her weak I forgot what she is for me right now since I am in the middle of a cutscene can't check

Prim needs a dance animation I can't take this chapter 2 seriously what the hell was that? Oren is correct what was these devs thinking?

They should definitely add Challenge and Provoke to the reputation system. And for a good/bad reputation to have more meaning.

I can't believe I almost went with Olberic as my main glad I did not his story is okay but the batter anyone thing is not cool when he does it because I keep thinking of him as a Noble Knight
H'aanit is less grating in that respect

They should definitely add Challenge and Provoke to the reputation system. And for a good/bad reputation to have more meaning.

both these would have worked better than giving this negative hit to a Scholar trying to find out someone's background info

All characters need more animations, including NPC. Even SNES games like FF VI have better combat animations, OT has lots of cool spell effects, but the characters are really static.

You don't have to challenge everyone lol
He should have stayed in town and married the widow and raise the boy going after that dude is less interesting to me than the other paths, I mean if your King is dead you already failed beating up old ladies is an L upon Ls lol

this is true but Prim's dancing being such an important part of her story puts a huge spotlight on the lack of animation
I wonder why this was the case for everyone, I mean animation was a huge part of sprites the design they went for. Would love to know what was the limitation here the Switch or UE4

Yeah Primrose could have used more flair on the scenes, I think they all put that time and money into making all those towns though. Following Tressa into her final chapter and sharing her sense of wonder at the town is amazing, and I get to do that with seven other characters? Cool.

More like a limitation of time and money instead of platform or engine.
hmmm, this is why I like Nintendo polish like this would not be something I would be concerned with as rushed or lacking funding but Square Enix has done these things to even the flagship titles so I would guess you are more correct than I

can't you tell I've been playing this game too much my sentences sound old english LOL

I would still put animations and those close-up art of the characters when they speak to each other you see that in a lot of JRPGs the towns are great and all but if this is seriously time or money related then the sequel is going to look a lot different if they add these things I am wishing for. And seriously I think they messed up and it is too late to address these things, this is now what Octopath is regardless so even though I wanted these things if they add them to the next game the backlash is going to be real loud I think.

Wish I could remove the protagonist from the party. I like Primrose well enough, but she's grossly overleveled compared to other characters. What a stupid restriction.

where do I look at town status? If I unlocked something with Cyrus something that changed the town where can I see this?

Do you challenge everyone to a dual when you can? I am confused as to when to really do this, outside of someone blocking the door.

Love all these Olberic jokes. Still can't get over when I played the first demo way back. Olberic trains kids and old people in battle by obliterating them into dust.

Beat the final boss last night and I'm pretty sure I've completed all side quests at 114 hours. What a ride.

I think the Japanese script makes it a little more clear-cut.
What are the differences with the Japanese script? In Spanish it was pretty clear that he wanted her as a replacement for her daughter (they were talking about how he misses combing her hair, but as they announced the "replacement" it become apparent that he wanted something else...).

IIRC, just makes the implication a little more obvious.

Do spells automatically use your best magic attack weapon or do you have to take note of which it is and cycle to it before you cast?
