Is there a way to trade now that there's multiplayer? I just saw a post on reddit about a guy stranded on an island and they were joking (or maybe serious) about trying to find and help them. But I wasn't sure what can actually be done. If so, someone could trade you one possibly?
You can transfer items to people near you, so that might actually be a possibility.

ERA space rescue lmao.

Better try to trade the parts seperately instead of as warp cell, maybe that adds the recipes.

Had my first mp encounter 10 minutes ago. We waved at each other, they shot, I hopped onto my ship and shot back. They died.

So, all my suit/ship/multitool tech has become obsolete and I lost my base and my farm on my freighter.
I won't need to start a new game after all...

You can transfer items between party member inventories. I think I might be being dumb though...

Muffin can you actually craft antimatter in NEXT?

Having the same problem, seems like I don't have the recipees to craft the stuff even though I do have the materials?
What platform are you on? If it's PS4 I could try to join you and make the two parts for the cell and give you them and see if that fixes it.

Edit: Nevermind, read the following page for ways to solve it, just seems to take a bit

The game is 50% off at $9 on Steam. How could I resist?

Hmm, for some reason Borderless mode acts like Windowed/Bordered to me.

It's offset so I can see the title bar at the top and it sticks over onto my side monitor a bit.

I have no idea what I'm doing anymore lol. So many things changed. I might start a new game just to get the hang of things with the tutorials, then switch back to my launch day save.

I gave it a few hours and I think I'm done. Lots of quality of life improvements since playing it on launch day, but it's still the same crafting-obsessed game it always was. Which is fine if that's what you're looking for. But I just get tired of the endless loop of searching for materials to craft a refiner to create better materials to craft starship fuel...

I might play around a bit in creative mode and just see what I can do there, but for the most part I think this is probably the end of me giving this game shots. It's a much better game than it was at launch for sure, and I will say it's worlds better than any other "stick plus rock" type game I've tried, but ultimately I think it's just not the kind of game for me.

Brilliant, appreciate it.
Okay wait, I have a recipe for the warp cell, and pinning it gives me the guide on how to craft antimatter and the housing, but the parts itself I cannot craft.

Maybe it's not a bug and you need to acquire the blueprints for those first in the space station market? It even says either craft or purchase a warp cell.

Do you have the warp cell recipe itself?

Not gonna lie this game has frustrated me more in the first 20 min than most recent memory game. First off how the fuck do I save? There is a spot for manual save and clicking it does nothing.

Second off why the hell does it start me on a planet that's killing me... Making me rush to figure out what the fuck I'm doing?

Lastly it shouldn't be this difficult to figure out how to build components in the first 20 min of a game. Hermetic seal? Pure ferrite? Can't get pure ferrite without an upgraded "gun" how do you upgrade the gun.. all I can install is a bolt caster which I have no clue where to find chromatic metal.

Otherwise.. game is cool lol

Edit: figured out the seal... Apparently I had to jump into the ship and it told me where to go... After the 5th time entering. Also accoridng to Google it saves when you enter the ship.. Jesus Christ

Pulse Engine: How do you recharge it? Went to my first base and couldn't find either of the two materials. I'm playing on Permadeath so I don't want to die.

Booted up my old save. It used to be a shitty toxic frozen shithole system. But it had my base, so it was home. But now I have a bunch of paradise planets. Ill take it. Thanks Sean!

Yeh I'm meaning the moment to moment gameplay is unintuitive and clunky, traversing terrain at speeds requiring the jetpack glitch and inventory management being a general nag. Space combat was also absurdly hard last time I played, being shot down by multiple ships in moments due to carrying valuable cargo. I just don't find the walking about and mining resources fun which most of the game revolves around. It's a shame really as I like some of the ideas like exploring space and different planets but once I've landed on a planet I've seen it all unless I'm hunting for static npcs or rocks talking in gibberish.

They fixed the gameplay feel with this patch. The movement is fluid and faster and the sprinting has been improved to be faster as well. The deadzone is better as well when it comes to aiming. You can tell they were looking into/studying 3rd person shooters when playing it.

They streamlined inventory management. Starter inventory has been expanded to 25 slots and starter ship space has been increased as well.

They have also streamlined the mining. Some resources were molded together to be one general resource(for when you have to charge things back up) and way more Flora and fauna are available to have as resources. Mining giant deposits now use a different ammunition so that you aren't running out of laser ammo too fast.

Space combat is still just alright though, at least there is now a benefit of third person camera angles for space exploration. I wouldn't mind if they just copied some things from Star fox or another good space combat game to improve it and make it more fun.

You now also get two different money resources for scanning and registering things. Scanning now zooms a bit and reveals map locations far away (like if you were using binoculars in another game).

There is a landrover esque vehicle for faster planet traversal. Doesn't take that long to find the blueprint and build.

Yeh I can craft warp cells and antimatter housing, is just antimatter I'm stuck in. Doesn't appear on the crafting screen when I open it with A. Gone into log and clicked on Antimatter though and see it has a checklist there with what I need. Only has three steps (refine chromatic, refine condensed carbon, press a to craft) but the last part has me suspicious of if it'll work as it's not in the crafting menu at all.

Lastly it shouldn't be this difficult to figure out how to build components in the first 20 min of a game. Hermetic seal? Pure ferrite? Can't get pure ferrite without an upgraded "gun" how do you upgrade the gun..
Build a refinery and put the dust in it to get the pure version.

I took a quick run with my existing save, discovered all the defunct tech and resources and am kind of sitting on the fence like you. But It seems like it's going to be a grind either way and it's probably worth starting over to properly familiarize with everything that's new.

So I think I'm going to mothball the old save for now, start over and see if its worth revisiting the old save later on.

I feel like starting again but I have nearly 500 million credits and I've never had enough to buy a freighter so... I'll go check if my base is still there LOL.

You can see what resource is needed by looking at what you're trying to make/charge. It will say it needs X of some item. The log shows what those items are made of if you can't remember

So, I played the game extensively since launch and for a bit after each update, except for Atlas Rising. I feel very disconnected with the game, and would like to start over (I hear they improved the flow of new games) but I'm worried about losing my base, upgrades and moneyzzzzzzz.

I need some encouragement (or discouragement). Was easy to get to a good economic level for new players/games?

Maybe you get the blueprint as soon as you have the materials? I have neither antimatter nor the housing recipe. I'll try it.

Didn't you just call me a drive by poster mere pages ago and now you're actually responding to my concerns?

Which face will respond to me next?

Ok weird, just seems to be a bit of an unusual lag. Warped to a new system. Went to the space station, on my way to the first planet and suddenly clicks that I have the chromatic metal and pops up with the crafting antimatter mission on the bottom right. Seems it's able to sort itself out but just takes a bit to get there. Didn't do any related events lol, literally just warped, went to station and left to go to a planet and it popped up. Didn't buy anything or sell anything.

Entering planets and flying through the clouds then seeing the ground pop into view beneath them once you're through is something I didn't anticipate and really delighted me the first time it happened. Also melee-jumping in multiplayer is some of the funniest shit I never expected. Lots of stuff so far taking me off guard with delight.

Jeez, this is a huge update. It's basically an entirely new game at this point like.

It really feels like 'No Man's Sky 2.0,' not a sequel but sequel-esque, you know?

Heads up to long time players but you can now fly your ship underneath those floating mountains (if it'll fit). Feels pretty cool.

To be fair, your first post here was pretty bad and troll-ish. I made a judgment call on it and I'd like to apologize since you have posted real concerns about the game later on in the thread.

Now you can read my post summarizing changes or the OPs post or you can ignore both, but I'd at least like you to come out of this thread feeling informed on what has changed in the game.

The bottom right of your screen shows you what your next objective is. Follow the objective list and you will be fine.

Looks like I'm starting all over. RIP 440 million credit :(

Or maybe I should just build a new base somewhere... I don't know what to do!

So I just looked and even if you don't find a warp cell randomly you don't instantly get the recipes for antimatter and the housing. After installing my warp drive the main quest now directs me towards finding a source for antimatter.

Good that your case resolved itself, hope it works that way for others with the same problem too.

FYI our old bases are "archived". If you build a base computer somewhere you can apparently get your old base back, but in the new spot.

I started a new save at least to learn what's new, because....everything is new. Like even all the elements. I might or might not go back; the only thing that would pull me back is avoiding that grind, because everything else I had attachment to is gone or changed.

On the plus side, you apparently can get a free starting freighter just for saving your first freighter from attack.

Did someone say you can give things to people in mp? Can I load up my old save, gift all my expensive stuff, then load my other new save, hop back in mp with my buddy and him give it back so I'd get all back in my new game?
