What was the size? The update I saw queued actually showed 0 bytes in size on the completed page.
Tried a new start and the planet had 70% toxic rain all day. OFF TO A GREAT NEW LIFE ON PLANET DEATH!
You won't be happy, all the starter planets suck on purpose to teach you the survival mechanics.
Just grit your teeth and focus on leaving.
3 crashes in about 2 hours on PS4 Pro. Frustrating.
I'm enjoying the game so far. The crashes have been quite bad though. One of them actually made the TV itself reset. Another one was a hard crash that made me unplug the PS4. 3rd one was the normal blue screen.

PC version continues to be rock solid in terms of crashes, none in the length session I just ended. Also performance definitely seems to be a bit better on average.

Why is it that when i try and join a RANDOM game i always get put with the same 2 people? I try leaving a game and re enter and its always the same guys that dont want to play together and dont talk.

There are A LOT of audio glitches on Pro. I went on a long swim from my little island, and every time I jump out of the water to get air there's an annoying BZZZT.
Planetrise on a toxic hellhole. Not the first planet but the second (needed my custom character first). Here's hoping I find some nicer ones.
So, 7 hours non-stop playing, now I switch to Fortnite just because friends want to play, but I can barely stop playing it, Jesus Christ, what have they done. :)
Installed on an SSD. CPU OCed to 4.4, GPU isn't overclocked at all.
I'm running the game at 1080p max settings.

Find crashed freighter. Dig up the buried cargo holds. Need pure Ferrite to unlock to go get some to build a refinery and crack them open. Absolutely loving this loop, much more structured and intricate than before.
The update just launched and a lot of people are exploring it solo for the minute. Wouldn't expect it to be a hive of activity right now. Are you just looking to play together in general or do you need a hand with anything?

played for 2 hours...that´s the same mess as the game was when it launched...crashes galore on PS4 Pro, audio is gltichy sometimes, the fans blasting away and graphically i don´t see much changes but i haven´t played the game since launch so my memories could be hazy...

Frame rate on base ps4 on-planet slows down when you are running to places. A few audio glitches. I built a wood shack. But then when I went to find buried technology, I dug down to the site. When I got to the site, there was no actual technology there. Swell.
The multiplayer is awesome.Getting paired up with people and working together is amazing, pretty big change overall and it really feels like you have to work for everything now which is kind of nice. I was pretty far along but decided to start fresh for this expansion and it's pretty great so far.

It's less daunting than you think:
- Destroy some rocks for some Ferrite
- Fix your scanner
- Scan for sodium (yellow plants)
- Scan for oxygen (red plants)
Anyone else run into someone on their starting planet? Myself and a space buddy fixed up our ship together then flew into space to the next planet. He came waved to me then logged off at that time. Was really cool.

What happens to decorations that you delete either on purpose or because say they were attached to a wall you broke down? I had some lights on a wall and putting up new ones have to be made again. Are items like these completely destroyed and not able to be saved? Not a big deal, just making sure they're not somewhere I haven't seen to be used again.
Did you rebuild your database? If not, try that. Fixes a few dozen different crazy problems.
I want to visit as well, is the universe the same or do we have to use the same system?I'm on ps4+pc so should be able to head over anyway. Won't play until next week though. Hiking in Scotland...
It's not THAT hard. Also, the point is to explore and FIND that planet, not get it right out of the gate ;)
yup, same here...must laugh a little bit inside because i remember i was bringing up crashing issues with the vanilla version in the "do you give nms a second chance" thread and the people were like "no, the game didn´t crash!" and now it´s crashing for many more people than back on the initial launch days 2 years ago .-)
It's kinda unplayable for me I've had two crashes to menu, having to restart the game. Sound is also glitching and giving me audio pops as well as sounding like a crashed commodore 64.
It's a shame what I did play was fun.

Is there a way to turn of chromatic abomination off. /puke. I turned off motion blur but I still find the image to be blurry,
How about not using anecdotal evidence In a handful of situations to say "many more people". You have no numbers at all for crash reporting. You just have your own confirmation bias.
It has crashes, but you can check the hyperbole and assumptions at the door. :)
