Thanks!

There was. Then apple rolled out the 64bit update. That in conjunction with a LOT of piracy (here in Portugal) made me decide to just remove the game from the store.
I might put both games back on the iOS store but I will have to do some bullshit crap like putting the first part free and getting the rest up on the server and force people to go get it... or whatever. Don't know. Sorry. At least this way I am only focusing on the PC versions.
BTW did the first game get updated eng. localization?

Thanks for the response. I definitely check if there's an iPad version of every new adventure I hear about since it's my ideal way to play so any development along those lines I would support. Good luck with your game, it looks great.

Thanks. The game looked great on the iPad Pro because we were not stretching the image but rendering at native. Sniff... sniff..

I did, bought it on GOG a while ago.
The story is rather nice, and I like how you had to use the multiple characters together to solve puzzles, like someone distracts somebody, while another character does something else meanwhile. Perhaps it's a bit too open-ended in the middle of it, it's easy to feel a bit lost. Though I like when adventure games give you enough freedom for that to happen.
The only weakness I'd say is the last push to the end. It felt too linear and the puzzles weren't great.
The plot is fairly good sci-fi, a few surprises here and there too. I'd agree with Tizoc that the ending felt a bit lacklustre.
Definitely a good game, though.

Been away from Point and Clicks for a few months now, but with Unavowed soon and Lamplight City in September that's back to back solid releases. Now let's hope for Gibbous in October in time for Halloween and finish off the year with Strangeland and Guard Duty and that will make the rest of the year stacked!

Unavowed in, what, a week? Omg omgomg. Things I know about it:

640x480
Same world as the Blackwell series
Less linear than the Blackwell games
Er, multiple protagonists?

THAT'S IT

So excited.

You know, its funny. I built this PC last week, powerful enough to play Doom at 200 FPS... but the first game I'll probably complete is a 640x480 game

Does this genre get OTs? I looked at the list of claims and didn't see one for Unavowed...

EDIT: I think I need this:

Has anyone played the creator's previous game (Four Last Things)? Is it worth checking out?

Four Last Things was a nice quick game with a lot of charm and humor and a cool concept. I would definitely play another game of his

Go ahead and make an OT for it.

Thanks for the encouragement both of you. I'm a bit new posting here, so I'm not 100% sure I'll do it justice, but I'll give it my best. If there's a place to preview OTs maybe I post a link here for feedback?

Heh, that's pretty much my situation as well. Upgraded CPU + RAM at the end of June and aside from a couple hours of casual Overwatch I think Unavowed is going to be the first new thing I seriously sit down to play. Well, if I ignore that I'm probably going to dedicate some time this week to finishing Chuchel before Unavowed since I want to play some Adventure games this month...

Anyone play Chains of Satinav? I'm in the last third of the game and have been really enjoying it so far. Are the sequels worth playing?

Feel free to post the whole OT in here for feedback if you want. That's what I did last time.

Will do. For now I'm going to try working out of the Tips & Tricks thread to get started and will post something here when I have a draft I'm ready to share.

EDIT: A big help would be if anyone knows of any recent preview articles I could link in the OT for Unavowed. So far all I've got is RPS and Adventure Gamers. Can't find anything of substance on the other sites I tend to check :(

Alright here you go. There's a couple open questions mostly regarding the team working on this game which I've sent off to Wadjet Eye's PR email address. Not sure if I'll hear back before I post the OT. They're all questions that can be answered quickly by looking at the credits screen anyways, so it's not a huge problem.

Would like to get this posted late Monday or early Tuesday. Feedback welcome!

EDIT: IT LIVES!

Anyone play HiveSwap and any thoughts on it? Got it for free from a friend but dunno if I want to dedicate myself to a playthrough of it...

I mean, I'm gonna try it, but be interesting to see what experienced adventure goers opinions are.

I quite liked it - it has a fairly good sense of humour, some decent puzzles and some quite good writing, although it's hard to judge the overall story from one episode.
I wouldn't say it needs knowledge of the source comic either.

Looks great. Only suggestion I have is maybe expand on who Dave Gilbert is a bit more, that he was one of the very few making great P&C games when the genre was all but deemed dead by the industry.

Hey all -

Apologies if this is too much self-promotion, but I'm just really proud and exhausted and overwhelmed.

My brother and I have been working on our own game since 2012. It's a point & click adventure game that's inspired by the old Sierra and Lucasarts adventures. It's called, "Arkhangel: The House of the Seven Stars". It's finally out.

Why the hell did we do this? Well, I had an idea for a short story many years ago, but I didn't really know how to really tell it. It gnawed at me for a really, really long time. I'd think about. Sit behind the computer with Word open. Smash my face against the screen and then put it on ice again. Fast forward to 2012. I had just bought an old Roland MT-32 and Sound Canvas on eBay and started re-playing a whole bunch of old Sierra/Lucasarts adventure games the way I always dreamed of playing them as a kid (because I'm a turbo nerd) when it finally clicked. I knew how to tell the story in this context. I called my brother and asked if he'd want to do this with me and he was like, "Aw yiss." We spent months building up this massive mythology and fine tuning the primary story arc. We have also expanded into doing a tabletop game that will go into kickstarter mode this fall (more info on that at a later date).

The only problem was I had no idea what I was doing. I've been in the games industry for 18 years, but I'm an audio director and sound designer. I didn't know how to build a model or make a visual effect or create a cinematic or design a puzzle...so I just hunkered down and learned stuff (and broke a lot of stuff in the process..and yelled a lot). Plus, Adventure Creator was a godsend.

Over the course of development, our dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He passed in 2014. There are a lot of underlying themes in Arkhangel that circle around dealing with terminal illness, loss, depression, anxiety, addiction, etc...The last time I saw my dad, we did a little VO recording session because I had put him in the game (he, my mom, and my oldest brother are the proprietors of the local saloon in town). We didn't end up using the VO files (the game is all text...no voice over), but it's something that I will cherish always.

Anyway. I don't want to take up more of your time, but I wanted to send you some links if you are interested:

Here's the launch trailer -

Here's the Steam bundle that contains the game with the soundtrack. Chad Seiter is the composer for this. He's worked on stuff like ReCore, FRINGE, LOST, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, etc... He's one of my oldest/best friends and my god, do I love the score that he did for this. I might be a little biased, but I think it's his best work. - https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/7391/Arkhangel_The_House_of_the_Seven_Stars__Game__Soundtrack/

Here's the core game - https://store.steampowered.com/app/868580/Arkhangel_The_House_of_the_Seven_Stars/

So. Yeah. It's been a crazy couple of weeks for us. Is it a perfect game? Of course not. I only see the flaws right now. There's a lot of stuff I wish I could go back and change. I wish we had more money/resources (and people...doing this with only two people was insane) and I still have a lot of learning to do but…it's time to let it go and move on to something new. I'm pretty damn proud of this little thing. Check it out if you dig this sort of game. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I played the game. If I have to describe it in one word is "ridiculous".
Ridiculous because you can literally press all the items in the games an get a joke. I am not kidding. The most time I was reading what the character had to say for the items than playing the game itself.

Also I was never was a fan of the following or knew anything about it. I was fine following the plot of the game.

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/08/08/wot-i-think-unavowed/ By John Walker

I am 100% sold on this now.

If Unavowed had been released in the early '90s, it would be remembered today as one of the all-time classics of the adventure genre.

This is an epic. A huge, ridiculously detailed adventure, that successfully borrows one of the most complex and complicating features of BioWare RPGs without screwing it up! In fact, it makes the character detail in every other adventure look sorely lacking, and raises the bar so much I expect most others will just pretend Wadjet Eye didn't do it. Absolutely get your hands on this, and if you're hesitating because the whole "retro" approach puts you off, make the exception in this case. It's worth it.

Wow, John "I hate (adventure) games" Walker giving the game such a high praise is incredible.

John I think is usually happy with WEJ stuff. I think his main bugbear has been AGS or screen resolution related.

Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure has now a steam page.
Plus a new trailer that looks phenomenal and the announcement of Doug Cockle (Geralt, The Witcher series) as a guest.
The super nice people of Stuck In Attic could use some help with the steam wishlist thing. :)

Oh boy, I can't wait for this game to come out!
