Is it ok if I just stick to main story line in Yakuza 0 and come back for the minigame:
Basically, can I come back after beating the game and finish up Majima's storyline where he's runnin' Club Sunshine? I did make it to the point I'm suppose to have a dance off or something with Club Mars. So I am definitely gonna do that part before moving on

I kinda wanna just finish up the main story and come back to finish the other content. Is that possible or nah
Yes it is.

It's called Premium Adventure mode, which is literally just you continuing from the point where you ended the story and are free to finish up any unfinished side content as well as just dick around the game's world with no story restrictions. You can even change costumes in that mode!

Yeah, absolutely. You get Premium Adventure upon beating the game, which unlocks costumes (among other things) and enables you to continue right where you left off.

EDIT: Beaten.

Ended up stumbling upon a page that has quite a few different Yakuza interviews from Japan:
http://fftranslations.atspace.co.uk/rgg/index.html

There's a whole ton of info I hadn't heard of before, its well worth a read but its spoilery stuff at points so tread carefully. But one awesome non spoilery piece of info is the Suda51 guest appearance in Yakuza 2 (I've no idea if this character shows up again in Kiwami 2):

■ Lots of famous people appear as voice actors including Tetsuya Watari and Hiroshi Tachi, but are there are other shock celebrity performances sneaked in there?

■ First of all, the voice of Chairman Yamazaki who appears as an opponent in the arena was provided as a cameo by Goichi Suda (*1). The leader of Cabaret Grand, Suzuki, and the voices of the youth around Kamurocho were also a cameo by Kazutoshi Iida (*2). (Sega)

――T-thse are quite some amazing cameos for game fanatics! These people are so famous that it would be shameful for long-time gamers not to have heard of them. For those who are unaware, refer to their detailed profiles below. (Editors)

*1) Born in 1968. Joining Human Inc. in 1993, he led creation of Twilight Syndrome, an adventure game that was the king of its time. Later, in 1998, he went solo and established Grasshopper Manufacture, creating several hits such as The Silver Caseand Killer7. He is well-known as a competent director at the forefront of the gaming industry.

*2) Born in 1968. After graduating from university he joined Artdink, becoming famous in 1995 for planning, directing and working on graphic design for Aquanaut's Holiday, a title that broke out of the existing borders of gaming. Later, he worked on games with a unique worldview, such as Tail of the Sun and Doshin the Giant. He is a playful person who even wrote a short review of the game he made himself on Doshin the Giant's Amazon page.

Hey guys,

I discovered Yakuza with 0, then followed up with Kiwami and 3, which I just finished yesterday.

I'm planning on continuing on with 4, 5, 6, and finally Kiwami 2. I consider that since chronologically I already skipped it K2, I might as well save it for last since it's the most recent release with all the gameplay improvements.

My question is, is there any reason I should play K2 before I continue with the rest of the series or is it okay to stick to my plan ? I'm afraid playing K2 now would ruin the others by making me go back to ugly low res graphics and older gameplay (going back to 3 after Kiwami was hard but now I'm accustomed to it).

Other than some Kiryu substories in 4 and a very tame name-drop in 5 i cant really think of anything that would be harmed.

2 is tied with 6 as the most disconnected game in the franchise lol

2 is referenced briefly in 6 as well, but not in any big way. Its part of one minor characteres motivations but its nothing that will ruin the game if you play them out of order.

Regarding the Yakuza 0 substories; is there a way to go back and complete any that I might have missed after the main story wraps?

Finished Yakuza 6 last week, it was great but hasn't beaten 0 imo.
Now I can continue my complete Kingdom Hearts playthrough until Kiwami 2 comes out in the West. 2 is regarded as the best Yakuza game, right?

0 is the most repeated best game choice I've found, with 2 not far behind. Among people who've played it though it's rare for me not to see Ishin top 3 as well. Personally Ishin is my favorite game :D

This is debatable. Every game in the series is good, just varying levels of good. 2 has the best villain easily, but some plot twists are a bit nuts (like pretty much the rest of the series to be honest). I purposely hold off ranking the games because I keep changing my mind, and because everyone has different favourites. I really love 3 and 5, other people can't stand them.

Yeah nothing is missable.

Well, just to be pedantic, there are at least half a dozen missable story related trophies that occur in every other chapter. So if your going for the plat you'll probably miss these trophies on the first playthrough, most are really obscure. Thankfully these can be grabbed in the Legend Difficulty run, but you need to look them up first as I'd argue most are not ones you can get without a guide (like breaking the safe in chapter 12? I think it was, or letting the food go cold etc.

Either way I'm planning on playing all the localized entries, guess I'll see for myself :)

As someone who knows absolutely nothing about baseball those stats at the end of the baseball minigame are very intimidating, even after some research i still was very confused. I guess for a pitcher a small ERA stat is good, for everyone else a high RBI is good and HR are home runs which very good. So far thats all i got.

Also during games the text scrolls so fast and i know nothing of the letters that pop up lol but hey i won the first 2 teams, gonna roll with it.

Finished Yakuza 0. Got a bit tired of
fighting Kuze over & over
but beyond that it was really, really solid. I couldnt help but get distracted with some of the side stories they are sooooo good. Already beaten Yakuza Kiwami so now I await Kiwami 2

So guys, I have played every single mainline Yakuza apart from 2 and 6. I got 6 day one but I wanted to wait until I am in a good mood to play it (because it is the last Kiryu game and It is very special to me because if that). Now I am in a bit of dilemma, should I play Kiwami 2 or just play Yakuza 6? The choice would be obvious if it weren't for Yakuza Kiwami 2 improving the engine so it might be jarring to play Yakuza 6 after it.

What do you guys think?

Yakuza 0 down, hands down one of the best games I've ever played.

Oh Year I forgot... I stream on Twitch and I am pretty active supporter of Yakuza in Europe on Twitter, to my surprise, the Community Manager of ATLAS/Sega Europe Sent me this:

BA (batting average) is what you should be looking at most for a hitter. Typically you want to start the top of the lineup with speed and BA, while putting power in the cleanup position (4th). Yakuza doesn't expect you to know the ins and out of baseball though, so you should be fine regardless of who you put where.

Thanks.

I guess I will wait so that I know everything there is about Kiryu before 6. Thinking more about it, I played 4-5-3 -||- so I guess I can get used to 6 being less optimized than Kiwami 2.

Cant wait to see all the Yakuza 0 PC mods/pics :) Not long now! Meanwhile I sit here impatiently waiting for 3's PS4 release the week after 0s. This might be my most hyped for a remaster I've ever been.

I'm with you, shadowman. I bought the PS3 for Kenzan and Yakuza 3 and can't wait to revisit it. The Ryukyu setting is just so calming and I really adore the slow start with the kids.

I've just played through chapter 13 of Kiwami 2. The ending when the identity of Sayama's father is revealed has finally been a moment that really resonated with me. The final dialogue between father and daughter is just so sad and beautiful.
My new RGG dream spin off game would be a third person shooter in the style of a Max Payne or Stranglehold coupled with the usual RGG way of storytelling. Sayama and Kawara would be the two playable characters, working together as a team on a job in Hong Kong or something. Too bad that can never happen with the way things turned out, hehe.

It will lead to so many easy model swaps, it'll be hilarious. Can't wait for Nugget fighting against Kuze, haha.

So far (im in Y6 chapter 13) there's definitely been some references to Y2 stuff in here, nothing big but enough for me to say "oh yeah i remember that, thats cool".

I like that idea, more action/shooters would be good and the team learned a lot from making a good one with Binary Domain. Myself, I still want my Noire detective story with Date - part exploring, collecting evidence, with a pinch of combat. Basically LA Noire but better and with Yakuza level story telling/characters.

Oh, and of course the Yakuza dancing/Karaoke spinoff needs to happen.

I clicked the online raid button for the first time in the clan minigame and immediately backed out lol it was all high level guys up there with max level, so i didn't even tried it.

Yeah. Online stuff is all high level characters in 6. Kiwami 2 at least adds a rotation of hard AI battles to play (I think its once a week or something like that they change). I found them pretty fun myself.

Yakuza 3 PS4 demo can be downloaded in Korea.

Really? Wow, didn't expect a demo for this one since its a simple remaster. I'm stuck out the house for now, for anyone near a PS4, can they confirm what the demo contains? (the PS3 demo I think took place in Kamurocho with a couple of boss fights against
Kanda's boys and a few "men in black"

Watched a stream of the Korean demo and it seems that it's straight up the first chapter of Yakuza 3 (it's been a while so I might misremember). Graphically it's about what I expected: Really smooth & higher res while pop up and draw in seems to be about the same as on PS3. Did not remember the character models looking as weird as they do, haha.

Yeah. From what I've read its the first chapter, except the density of crowds now is way, way higher. Basically its a high res PS3 game with a much better frame rate. Which is exactly what I expected and wanted. Now roll on 4 and especially 5 which should look even better.
