Eurogamer - Recommended

Simply put, if you can brave your way through first few hours you'll find your persistence pays off and you'll be rewarded with a fantastic addition to your VR library.

Play Station Universe - 9/10
https://www.psu.com/reviews/the-persistence/
It doesn't rip up any trees in terms of the horror genre, even in VR, but The Persistence is a game that understands how to deliver proper terror and tension for Sony's virtual reality hardware. Finally, we have a horror game that is fully designed for PSVR and the end result is something pretty special.

TheSixthAxis - 8/10
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2018/07/24/the-persistence-review/
In The Persistence, the team at Firesprite have concocted a rogue-lite survival horror whose atmosphere and hard hitting combat feel fantastic in VR. Thanks to an impressive array of comfort options it's also amongst the best PSVR experiences we've had, and for owners of Sony's headset it's damn near essential.

Gamereactor - 8/10
https://www.gamereactor.eu/reviews/680883/The+Persistence/
Firesprite Studios' PSVR game The Persistence is here to give you another reason to steer clear of space travel, except for this time it's because you're at risk of all your crew turning to bloodthirsty mutants as your ship is pulled slowly towards a black hole.

The Games Machine (Italy) - 8,5/10
https://www.thegamesmachine.it/the-persistence/the-persistence-recensione-ps-vr/
Despite the lack of variety over long playthroughs, The Persistence is a sci-fi survival horror that all PS VR owners should have.

IGN Italia - 8,4/10
http://it.ign.com/the-persistence-psvr/143005/review/the-persistence-la-recensione
The Persistence is a real gem, as well as one of the most long-lasting and complete virtual reality experiences you can find on PlayStation VR today.

Eurogamer Italy 8/10
https://www.eurogamer.it/articles/2018-07-24-the-persistence-recensione

Push Square - 7/10
http://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps4/the_persistence
The Persistence cleverly blends Dead Space-esque outer-space sci-fi scares with the addictive arcade loop of rogue-lites like Rogue Legacy, resulting in a PlayStation VR campaign that's both gut-wrenching and weirdly replayable. It won't take you a million lightyears to complete the likeable campaign, but a hardcore mode awaits when you've finished, and clever co-op functionality adds a little longevity to the experience as well. With a compelling gameplay format as well as some great gadgetry, this is one survival mission we thoroughly enjoyed.

UploadVR 8/10
https://uploadvr.com/the-persistence-review/
The Persistence offers something fresh and engaging by mixing different genres that we don't often see melded together so well. On a moment-to-moment basis the horrors lurking around every corner keep you on your toes and the give-and-take aspect of its roguelike nature ensures that no two runs are ever quite the same. The lack of Move or PS Aim controller support is a bummer, but it still plays wonderfully just on the standard DualShock 4. This is a dark, challenging stealth shooter that PSVR fans can keep coming back to for quite a while.

This Gen Gaming 9/10
http://thisgengaming.com/2018/07/24/the-persistence-review-playstation-vr/
The Persistence isn't anything original but everything it set out to do it pretty much nails. While I wasn't drawn to the story so much the combat and constant variety of new ship layouts kept me engrossed and saying I'll give it one more run. It's a tense, unnerving and action packed romp aboard The Persistence and any fan of horror owes it to themselves to give it a go.

Metro UK - 8/10
https://metro.co.uk/2018/07/24/persistence-review-dead-space-lives-7754375/
One of the best horror games on PlayStation VR, as well as an impressively inventive first person roguelike that Dead Space fans in particular will appreciate.

Trusted Reviews - 8/10
https://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/the-persistence
The Persistence isn't easy – and it can be frustrating – but then persistence tends to bring its own rewards. This is a thoughtful, well-balanced blend of action and survival horror, designed by a team that plays to the strengths of the new VR medium while minimising so many of its weaknesses.

Hobby Consolas - 8/10
https://www.hobbyconsolas.com/reviews/analisis-persistence-terror-espacial-psvr-282297
The Persistence is terrifying, makes great use of VR and its procedural level creation works great. We also like the local asymmetric multiplayer approach

PlayStation Lifestyle - 6,5/10
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net...ce-review-a-game-that-requires-grit/#/slide/1
Overall, the progression is solid, but there are a few moments where I felt it was sort of unfair (i.e having to backtrack with no health in sight) due to the procedural generation.

VRFocus - 8/10
https://www.vrfocus.com/2018/07/review-the-persistence/
Overall, The Persistence is a great sci-fi horror experience that cleverly uses VR to slowly ratchet up the tension and fear. While never entirely terrifying, it does still work well as horror, with just enough randomisation to
keep you coming back for more.

Hobby Consolas 8/10

3DJuegos 8/10
https://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/analisis/28946/0/the-persistence/
Roguelike and survival horror elements joined in a very enjoyable sci-fi PSVR experience.

GamePro Germany 8/10
https://www.gamepro.de/artikel/the-persistence-der-tod-ist-nicht-das-ende,3332942.html

Playstation Official Magazine UK 9/10
Stuffed with clever, creative ideas and brilliant weapons, this challenging sci-fi horror is structured perfectly for PS VR. If you've got the nerve - and the stomach to match - it's a must.

God is a Geek 8/10
http://www.godisageek.com/reviews/the-persistence-review/
This is one of the better VR titles available on the PlayStation 4, and the variety at which you get to customise your character paired with the survival horror make it a fun game to play.

JeuxVideo.com 7,5/10
http://www.jeuxvideo.com/test/89378...vival-horror-incisif-en-realite-virtuelle.htm

GameOver.gr 7/10
https://www.gameover.gr/reviews/37902-the-persistence-review
By combining the "roguelike" design with the intense atmosphere of a space horror game and the immersion of the VR technology, The Persistence offers a rather enjoyable experience, even though it has some problems like the poor A.I. and a constant repetition of the environments

PSX-Sense.nl 9/10
https://www.psx-sense.nl/326430/review-the-persistence-ps-vr/
While the story is run-of-the-mill sci-fi tropes, the execution is fantastic. Great atmosphere, impeccable tracking, thrilling suspense and fantastic controls add up to one must-buy title for you PlayStation VR set if you can stomach the survival horror genre set in space. The roguelike element that causes the ship's layout to change constantly is a welcome addition and keeps the game feeling fresh. A special mention must go to the highly original and entertaining multiplayer. Highly recommended.

Overall a very good 80 at Metacritics, well done Psygno...äh I mean Firesprite ;)

Well damn. I wasn't so much fond of the demo to be honest but I'm going to check the ongoing reviews and keep an eye on this.

Why are all the "complete" VR games horror games? Why am I such a coward?

I did a video review for Push Square, too. No anus gags, but some PS4 Pro gameplay footage:

Thanks for posting our text review in the OP. This is a really good game; I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This just sold me on VR. I'm sure Sony is only a few more games away from that killer app. Now to get one ....

PSVR is gonna be fire these next few months with exclusives:

- The Persistence
- FireWall: Zero Hour
- Blood and Truth,
- Astro Bot: Robot Rescue
- Déraciné
- Dreams

Sony isn't giving up on PSVR based on first party support.

And also third party support looks like:

- Beat Saber
- Ace Combat 7
- Wolfestein: Cyberpilot
- Zone of Enders VR
- Vacation Simulator

Now is the time to buy PSVR!

Got to play this at E3 and had a blast. The devs were such a joy to talk to and they truly love what they do. They had officially just gone gold when I played it on the last day of E3 and the whole team was ecstatic. The way they have integrated co-operative play is very unique and fun. The atmosphere was totally creepy but not so scary that I couldn't tolerate it. Most of the time my adrenaline was pumping during enemy encounters because some rooms can feel very overwhelming.

All in all, a terrific experience

I'm absolutely getting this. I'm however going to wait a few weeks. As much of a VR convert as I am I've finally discovered the one drawback of VR that I can sign off on. There has been a heatwave where I live for several weeks, and I'm unable to use my headset without sweating profusely. It's just to hot for me to use it for more than a few minutes at a time.

Looks really cool, shame it doesn't have motion controller support though :( Motion controls are half of what makes VR special.

I know that feeling. We've had a string of 100°F days over here and summer generally doesn't have enjoyable VR weather so I won't be getting this game until the fall unfortunately.

Wow! It looked interesting but the good reviews are really quite surprising. Definitely gonna pick this one up come fall.

Summer plus VR just doesn't mix for me.
