The fact he can perjure himself so easily is telling... I don't understand how people can ever trust what this man says.

I would've said before it was "impossible" but I'm moving my prediction to "very unlikely"
Well that really sucks. Hope he loses anyway.

Also I've been watching the press briefing and that security clearance question was obviously pre-planned from a pro Trump outlet. You can see her reading a straight up scripted answer after. She even messed up reading one of the words off the paper.

I did a cntrl+F on that article and it does not bring up the specific quote "no collusion, no collusion, no collusion." Infact "collusion" does not appear in a Gulliani quote in that article. Or maybe I am just seeing it wrong.

Are you sure the specific quote comes from the article you linked to?
Oh I thought you wanted a link to the article about Guiliani demands for a Trump interview with Mueller.

Me too, man. If it's any consolation he's actually getting a lot of heat back in his district for a variety of things, but he never shows his face there and the voters there are pretty solidly red (it's rural as fuck).

Yes, that article where Guilliani says that Muller can ask trump about conspiracy but only if trump's answer is limited to "no collusion, no collusion, no collusion."

The bloomberg article doesn't have the quote. I wonder which interview Schiff is referring to.

it's a joke, dude, not a quote.
trump's lawyers saying Mueller can ask about collusion, not obstruction = real
"no collusion, no collusion, no collusion" = joke about Trump endlessly repeating "no collusion" all the fucking time whenever the topic of Russia comes up

So.Cal.
Where have Democrats said they wouldn't meet with him? They want to have a chance to interview him in the Senate, like they have for every SCOTUS Nominee since the 18th Century...
Projecting, and making shit up, as always.

The modus operandi of this administration is;
"fuck it, just lie - our side won't care"

I never actually take the time to post here, but I smiled at the thread title.

Damn, probably explains why he's such an asshole. He doesn't ever have to worry about losing.

Can you not do this from now on? Those aren't actual quotes, and you know it. Or if you don't, tell your handlers you need more time to understand American grammar.

Are you aware that the platform known as "Twitter" has a character limit for posts? And that those who use this particular service called "Twitter" may paraphrase quotes to capture the essence of what someone is saying?

Though it is perfectly understandable that you may be unaware of this fact of how "Twitter" works. Here is the link to the documentation, maybe it will help you? https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs.html

I think it is also worth mentioning that the paraphrase in question is based off of a highly infamous quote from a debate watched by millions of Americans - but maybe those who are less knowledgeable about politics may not know this, so I apologize.

Jesus, I'm crying so much right about those kids that were separated from their parents at the border. There is a chance that some of those kids will never be reunited with their parents. AAAAAAAHHHJHGHHHHHHH!!! Fuck the Trump administration.

I'm familiar with the reference, I just don't think pretending to be a dog in a comedy sketch/novelty Twitter account is living your best life.

As Pixieking suggested, I feel like it's a little passive aggressive to bark instead of just saying "why are you racist?"

I mean just look at the followers and ratios - it's an objectively successful gimmick and a rad shorthand. That dog us living a reverse dog's life.[/Quote]

I think that is pretty much a certainty at this point, sadly.

Sabato just moved 17 races our way:
French Hill (R, AR-2) Likely Republican to Leans Republican
Vern Buchanan (R, FL-16) Likely Republican to Leans Republican
Charlie Crist (D, FL-13) Likely Democratic to Safe Democratic
Steve King (R, IA-4) Safe Republican to Likely Republican
David Young (R, IA-3) Leans Republican to Toss-up
Peter Roskam (R, IL-6) Leans Republican to Toss-up
Trey Hollingsworth (R, IN-9) Safe Republican to Likely Republican
Jackie Walorski (R, IN-2) Safe Republican to Likely Republican
Andy Barr (R, KY-6) Leans Republican to Toss-up
Mike Bishop (R, MI-8) Leans Republican to Toss-up
NM-2 Open (Pearce, R) Likely Republican to Leans Republican
Steve Chabot (R, OH-1) Leans Republican to Toss-up
OH-12 Special (Tiberi, R) Leans Republican to Toss-up
Mike Kelly (R, PA-16) Safe Republican to Likely Republican
John Carter (R, TX-31) Safe Republican to Likely Republican
John Culberson (R, TX-7) Leans Republican to Toss-up
WV-3 Open (Jenkins, R) Leans Republican to Toss-up

Highlights:
  • AR-02 looking more and more like one of the sleeper pickup races.
  • Nazi Steve King's district officially on the map.
  • Looking more likely we gain NM-02 again a la 2008, especially since Yvette Harrell is a very bad Republican candidate.
  • OH-12 special officially a tossup
  • MJ Hegar has made TX-31 competitive, and she has more money than Carter.
  • Ojeda now officially rated a tossup despite being in a Trump +10,000 district.
He also thinks Democrats now have slightly better than 50-50 odds to win, the first time he's rated us higher than a tossup. However, he also offers this caveat:
Put it all together, and the Democrats now look like soft favorites to win a House majority with a little more than 100 days to go. The usual caveats apply: There is time for things to change, and the Democrats capturing the majority is not a slam dunk. We recently were discussing the House map with a source who recited reams of positive indicators and data for Democrats. After hearing those, we suggested that, based on what this person was saying, the Democrats should win the House with seats to spare. The source then said it will come down to just a few seats either way. By the way, such a close outcome — a House where the majority party has 220-225 seats or even less (218 is the number required for a bare majority) — remains a distinct possibility, and the presence of so many competitive House seats in California, where the vote count takes weeks to finalize, could delay the final House outcome.

I'm happy about this and it needs to happen (without hyperbole) for the existential safety of the democracy but I am weirdly uncomfortable with the expression "our way" which is odd because I think the current GOP is completely amoral and objectively indefensible.

I assumed I could use "our way" as a by-phrase for "toward the party that actually cares about being a check on the president and strenuously opposes his plans to harm women and minorities, destroy the country's reputation, and collaborate with a hostile foreign power" and not have it tsk-tsked as a ~~~problematic expression~~~.

My mistake.

EDIT: Did not mean for this post to sound so terse; I apologize and should probably go to bed. Upon reflection, I can see how "our way" might sound overly tribal and divisive, but given Republicans' behavior I don't feel too bad about using it.

I don't like the "our/we" vocab for the simple fact that there are people who read and engage in this thread that aren't members of the Democratic Party, and I don't like the "us/them" narrative is sort of plays into. It's pedantic, but I wish people just said "17 races moved for the Democrats" or whatever.

For Twitter, sure... But this is also the platform where I've read a 31 tweet thread about a crappy Medium take on videogame history, but haven't seen a link for the article itself anywhere on my timeline. Twitter is made for gimmicky stuff like "Here's a link to an elected official dog-whistling racism, I'm going to make a joke out of it whilst also trying to signal-boost how bad it is". But I think forums allow for more depth, so just going "woof woof woof" is a bit... pointless?

All my own opinion, of course. *shrugs*
