Before LRG i didn't even know that there are "collectors" of video games who only want a small quantity of copies released. I only thought that there are collectors of physical releases whon don't care if there are 100k or a few million.
Specially with the numbers of copies from LRG i don't think it the numbers really matter. It should be not that important if LRG sells 3000 copies or 14000 copies.
I don't know how many games from the PS3 are available on the PS4. Are there still many PS3 download exclusives who didn't got a port to PS4? The Cave (that would be awesome), Costume Quest and Stacking from Doublefine would be in my mind.
I consider those folks less collectors... more speculators. Many of them are buying to potentially cash in years down the road... which is fine, you do you and all that, but it becomes less about the game and more about the gamble at that point.
Also, I didn't even consider a PS3 Costume Quest release, but now that they're trying to get PS3 games published I guess anything is possible! I know Double Fine didn't own the rights to publish Costume Quest on PS3/360 for a while (owned by THQ), and I feel like I read that they got the rights back several years ago, but I can't be sure.
Still, my preference would be for a newer system, ideally Switch, but PS4 would be great too. I'd definitely buy a PS3 version, but only if the other two weren't available.
Edit: Yep, they own the rights.

I really feel like Costume Quest would be a great fit for the Switch. Doug... any chance you could look into porting it like you did with Cosmic Star Heroine?
UPDATE:
Completely forgot about this. Costume Quest is getting an animated series on Amazon this year. In fact, Walmart even has an preorder up for the reissue of the graphic novel that came out a couple years ago. It totally makes sense that Double Fine may want to introduce the game to new platforms. Here's hoping.
