ERA, I dun goofed.

I have a dinner date with a girl I'm seeing tomorrow.
Problem is I have to cook for her.

Now you're thinking "Why is this a problem Jindrax?".

Well... she keeps accidentally overcooking her food, or making silly mistakes.
So ofcourse, I've been teasing her about this for the past few weeks...

So now I have to cook... And it's going to have to be good.

I do cook for myself daily... But it's mostly variations of chicken or Turkey with vegitables and rice (gotta get those gains yo).

Could you guys suggest me something to cook for her? She's not a picky eater so any recommendation of something tasty (but also not too hard) is welcome.

Jambalaya or any other rice dish where you can basically throw in whatever meat or vegetables the two of you like are always super easy and tasty! Simple things stir fry are usually crowdpleasers too. You're gonna have to give us more info on what your date is like!

You should definitely surprise her in an unexpected way . . . ask her for help. If you say she overcooks her food or makes silly mistakes, get her involved in some way that will have a minimal impact on the finished dish but also get her close to you while you're cooking. Maybe you can do the stir-frying like Robin suggests, but have her dice up some of the veggies instead of browning the meat. Then while she's chopping look at them and say 'Wow, those looks great, can I taste one?' She may put it in your mouth for you. That's cute and fun. And you'd better update us on how it goes.

Do you have a grill, OP? If so, a good burger or steak always gets the job done.

If not, try pasta. Don't get too fancy. Also, maybe you could do a practice run tonight. Make a single serving of whatever you cook tomorrow and see how it turns out?

Have you been reading my fanfics??

I'd probably be thrilled if my date had dino nuggets for me.

Mix one table spoon of sambal oelek with 0,5 dl soy and 1 dl creme fraiche. Slice up chicken and put in an oven pan. Pour the mix over it. Bake at 175 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile prepare pasta or rice. Super simple and super good.

I like to do chicken breast stuffed with pesto wrapped in Parma Ham along with roasted asparagus....and I personally go for noodles, but new potatoes are quite nice.

This gave me a semi.

In all seriousness, this is a great idea.

Get yourself a girl who makes googly eyes at you like ScarJo does to Jon Favreau

Don't worry about what you cook, it's how you cook it. Stick with what you are familiar with, and only partially cook it when she arrives. Ask her to help you finish that way you two bond and do something together, and teach her what you did. she will appreciate doing something new and cute with you

On the other hand, if you just buy take out and disguise it as your own cooking, it would make for a hilarious story later.

Avoid chicken if you're worried about overcooking something. I'd say a nice steak (not a whole steak each, cut it in half and then slice against the grain) with fresh greens and a chocolate mousse for dessert. You don't want to make anything too spicy or oily but you do want to make something sexy and luxurious.

I made a really good meal the other day:

Pulled barbecue chicken in the crockpot
Corn-on-the-cob soaked in milk and butter
Sweet potato casserole

Summer-y and relatively easy to make. My wife dug it.

Thai red/green curry. Not too spicy, easily prepared and tastes delicious.

The real question here is what are you doing for dessert cause frankly that can sway this whole thing.

Lot's of overcooking (pasta, eggs) and silly mistakes (adding cream, garlic or parsley) potential.

True, but I don't know anything that's easier but makes you look good.

It pains me to see how this is spelled, and the fact there is tortellini in it.

My only reservation here is some people may not be into the idea of raw egg yolk served on top of the pasta.

You make the "sauce" from eggs, parmesan and some pasta water, then black pepper on top. What kind of savage adds egg after it's done?

Pasta Carbonara with a nice bottle of wine. You can make it in front of her, just prepare everything, it's easy as all hell to do.

This is my go to when I want to impress my gf.

Grilled chicken with steam vegetables is also super easy and looks impressive to make as there's a lot of pots and pans involved. Nothing like a working over a steaming stove to make bae swoon.

Uh...a lot? A fair amount of recipes consist of the 'sauce' base being egg white & reserved pasta water, then using the yolk after it's been served in the bowl.
