@JShackles where you at bruv?!

HIS TIME HAS COME!

The trailer contains both:
1) Outsider who knows nothing about the current culture, trends, economic problems, or laws should be our new monolithic ruler!
2) He who is able to physically defeat our ruler should be our new monolithic ruler!

How do these magnificent and technologically advanced cultures have such moronic political systems?

Maybe it's a metaphor.

Maybe the whole point of the "ruler" is just to act as their one-man army and protect the people from danger. The actual ruling is done, say, via direct democracy, no parliament or anything needed.
Then it's totally logically to get the strongest person for the job, no matter what he knows about the culture. I guess the question of loyalty is important, like how are they gonna make sure he doesn't just break into their treasury and go his merry way?

I've been out of the PC gaming scene for a while now due to my 10-year old PC not holding up, but since it's also at its last-legs, I'm thinking of refreshing it.

If I have a budget of around $800-$1000, give or take - is Ryzen 2600/1070Ti a good get?

I see Agents of Mayhem available on Steam for 7,50. Is it it worth it? Also, will it run on my low end laptop that could run Saints Row 3/4 somewhat decently?

Reading on a different forum that MS has discontinued fullscreen exclusive mode in Windows 10 and has removed it, where the current (said to be inconsistent) implementation is an emulation.

Anyone had experience with fullscreen exclusive issues on Windows 10? I'm curious how this affects gaming.

"Benevolent God"

Yeah, it might not be the best idea to have the strongest singular identity hold all the power. What is to stop them from enacting their social policy as well? There's a reason systems of multiplicity and systems of tension have worked their way out for the most progressive political structures.

EDIT: Theoretically, Aquaman wouldn't be exceptionally stronger than the next-most-powerful Atlantean. It's the same issue with Black Panther. The two theoretically strongest dudes fight it out and the best singular combatant wins and gets to rule the land. They then give them even more power with a magical macguffin, but nothing crazy powerful. So it's not like Superman, who is vastly more powerful than the people he protects, it's just the best MMA fighter in the land who gets to run the country. Seems like a bad idea.

I don't have any experience with it myself (maybe the stuttering isn't bad enough for me to notice it?), but a couple of posts in the "PC Questions That Don't Really Deserve Their Own Thread" thread elaborate a little:

What does Windows' "Fullscreen Optimization" option do and why does it make games like Battlefront 2 unplayable for me? I was getting extreme stuttering when performing actions for the first time when first loading up the campaign mode, and just overall bad performance throughout. I then found out about disabling this option and it fixed all my issues. Am I supposed to disable this option for every other game I play too?

"Fullscreen optimization" emulates exclusive fullscreen essentially making a game run in a mode similar to borderless windowed even though it requests exclusive fullscreen. This may and does lead to some issues in some games on some configs (seems to be dependent on a display device mostly) so when you're getting lots of stuttering then you should try disabling it for the game with this issue.

man, even WoW is anime as fuck now

Anime corrupts everything!

These recent in-engine cutscenes they have going on sorta-kinda make me wish they would do a Darksiders-esque game tho, they have the same chunky style of artstyle (or, rather, Darksiders has it also I should say). it works well for that sort of game (worked well for Amalur aswell for example)

Bah, Trails in the Sky doesn't seem to survive sleep mode - crashes outright both in DX8 and DX9 modes after waking from sleep.
Anyone with a laptop has experience with debugging issues like that? Or is it generally 'if it works, great, if not, there's nothing you can do about it'?

Since the start of the year i am looking to replace my MB, CPU and RAM and it is kinda depressing watching those prices. 8700K is still around 390$ here, mid-high range MB like ASUS Prime Z370-A is 210$ and then biggest disappointment is RAM, 16GB DDR4 above 3000MHz is at minimum same price za MB 210$. So in total we are talking about 800+$ for those 3 components. I mean i have money for that but i am not sure that i am ready to spent that kind of money, even though those components will last me for at least 4 years (i am still rocking my 2600K that i bought like year after release). But i am kinda getting tired of waiting for those prices to go down.

these thrash sections are kind of weird. i think the game was getting stale at this point so it's a good way to keep things fresh but also knowing you don't get to play as kirin makes it feel kind of weird since she's one of the "main three" and all. like, the moment i noticed that i went like "i bet this thrash thing was a kickstarter stretch goal or something", and i didn't even know the game was on kickstarter. it's kind of something i've noticed in a few kickstarter games, that maybe you reach certain portions of the game that feel a bit tacked on only to later on find out it was a stretch goal

it's not bad tho, and the game needed a twist at some point

also i probably should spend more time in the practice arena since i feel like the time pressure makes the duels a bit too stressful (compared to the other activities like the puzzles that are more relaxed) and maybe i just want to spend a long time making a dish as delicious as it can be

It was an average game, but I somewhat enjoyed playing it. But I highly doubt it would run decently on a low-end laptop, I played it on release and this game was very demanding, I was struggling to get decent performance on my old GTX 770 4gb with just 1080p resolution.

If you're not looking into content creation, an i5 chip is better.

Concerning Telltale games and follow up seasons

If i clock Batman season 1 for example and have my completed save with my choices uploaded to Steam Cloud and the Telltale account can i go ahead and delete the game and when i purchase Batman Season 2 will my choices get pulled down from the clould? or will Season 2 go to to my local save on my harddrive only?

edit: just realised my Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead Season 2 saves are gone :(

Downloading Fallout: New Vegas. Haven't really played it at all, rented the Xbox version from a friends, barely played it. Hopefully it holds up well.

Are anyone knew Faeria worth buying or not after it abandoning the f2p scheme?

Wait? When did Faeria stop being f2p? And what does it mean for us who already have the game in our library due to we played it when it was f2p?

Just want to double check...

I plan on getting a PC (i7 8700k, GTX1080, overclocked, liquid cooling, 16gb ram, etc). In terms of PSU as I'm a bit clueless on that, I've been told to go for a platinum rating 750W by a acquaintance, but how important is it? Could I get away with a lower rating to trim down elsewhere? The PSU recommended is a 650+ 80Plus.

Any decent 650W PSU will suffice. The EVGA G3 is part of the recommended high-end builds in the INANPC thread, but there's also the slightly cheaper GQ variant if you're looking to lower the cost as much as reasonably possible. I wouldn't buy a 1080 at this juncture, though, as the 1170 and 1180 are rumoured to launch late next month/early September.

Thanks for the answer. Another dumb question (inexperienced with this sort of stuff), is it safe to skimp out on the GPU and use my old one (550ti) until the 1180 comes out and swap it over on a overclocked CPU?

Absolutely. You just won't be able to use the latest drivers as Nvidia dropped support for Fermi-based cards back in May. You'll have to make do with these ones.

I have a Ryzen/nVidia combo and I love it.

Yeah, but Ryzen chips/mobos are cheaper, they come with a cooler (so more savings), and Ryzen 2 is supported in the same board, so the upgrade path is cheaper and easier.
