Mine is also loud as fuck. Ps4 is an overall cheaply made console overall. Really night and day compared to the ps3
Remember back at the last place when everyone swore it was supposedly the most silent console ever made what happened? Did the one x finally wake people up? And realise how loud the pro is? I hope my spiderman pro gets the one with the good fan.
The XB1S and XB1X both have an internal PSU. Only the original SKU doesn't have an internal PSU.Thing is Sony consoles are built with the Power supply inside de console. While Xbox consoles use an external power supply (The brick) and the console not only has alot of empty space inside, where the air can flow more freely, they can also use bigger fans (a bigger fan dont need to spin so fast so it makes less noise).
Do those get loud? The XB1S and XB1X both have an internal PSU. Only the original SKU doesn't have an internal PSU.
Ugh could you imagine an AC unit and that PS4 together? I'd blow my speakers out trying to overcome that noise. With you 100% because its absolutely unnacceptable imo. That said, you live in a house that is 26 celcius!?!?! Jesus, that would push me to the brink of insanity on a daily basis. Buy an air conditioner you poor soul.
Signed, somone from northern Canada that keeps his house at 18 year round.
How is this defending a company? If a company is doing something you don't approve of it would be illogical to support them. For example, I don't like Disney animated films so I'm not going to waste my money watching their films.
Clearance to the wall is over 10 inches. Do you want me to film it being a jet engine in the middle of a carpet, because I can do that? I used to have it on top of my subwoofer where it had two feet in every direction and it was exactly the same as now.Not only right side. The back of the PS4 is really close to the wall too.
Not saying that the consoles are not loud, but when it's so close to walls and obstacles its bound to happen.
I'd pay 50 bucks extra for a PS4Pro with a more silent cooling solution, as I'm not pulling my console apart. I'll work on a desktop PC if need be, but taking consoles apart terrifies me for some reason :/.
No AC. 26C is not the norm, I'm in Finland after all. It's most often around 22C which hardly chances the jet engine noise.
Yeah it seems to be that way. The closest I got was popping the top off and replacing the stock 5200 rpm 500gb hdd from my first PS4 with a 1tb 7200 rpm hdd, and that was relatively easy, but the rest of the console just did not seem like it was made to be accessible. Hell, even though the hdd swap wasn't too bad, the software set up was enough of a pain in the ass that I decided to just stick with the default 5400 rpm drive that came with my Pro when I bought that and just pick up a 2tb external 3.0 drive for the rest of my storage needs. To be honest, I really wanna put SSD's in both my X1X and my PSPro, but......I'm a coward lol.I took apart my ps4 to clean it. I would consider it a much more challenging assembly than a typical desktop pc. It appears to be made serviceable, while still dissuading most users from getting in there.
Well you stated that rather than criticize Sony's consoles for their loudness, people should just shrug it off and go buy other consoles instead. I interpreted this as "please don't attack Sony, just leave them alone and go elsewhere if you don't like some aspect of their products!"How is this defending a company? I own all three models (2013 day one, H5 sku, 2TB S, Scorpio X) and the sound levels are very similar. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.Do those get loud?
I have the original, the only time I hear it is when it "sighs," as I call it, when a game crashes or I change games quickly.
Lmao. I have every right to criticize their design project if this is what they produce.Look. People have NO RIGHT to say this kind of bs. Do people have any idea the level of investment that goes into designing these things? A small fault in UX is not "this bad", it's a tiny tiny thing after the exhausting process of developing some of the most complex hardware machines in existence.
You're definitely reading things that aren't there. That is such a dumb assessment to make. I literally said don't buy their consoles in the future if you don't like their product the way it is now. But after taking a look at your post history, I can see why you think the way you do.Well you stated that rather than criticize Sony's consoles for their loudness, people should just shrug it off and go buy other consoles instead. The PS4 is the loudest console I ever owned. I thought it was weird how they (Sony) barely get flack for this considering how much flack MS got for the 360 being loud. My 360 was never this loud.
But both the X and the S are small. Both the S and the X have built in power supplies. And both the S and the X are considerably more quiet than the PS4.Thing is Sony consoles are built with the Power supply inside de console. It's 72F or bust for me. Then again I live in a desert. :pI work for a major electric company in the Southern United States, and actually 26C (preferably higher or not even on) or around 78F is where your house AC needs to be during summer months. It uses the least amount of energy while still being relatively comfortable. Heating and cooling is about 43% of your monthly electric expenses.
Are you serious? It's not like this is as simple as, say, ditching one smartphone manufacturer and choosing another. Sony has great exclusives, and I and many other people don't want to miss out on them by not buying a PS5. You can't just dismiss all of us. We want Sony to finally address this fucking issue that has been prevalent since the PS3.You're definitely reading things that aren't there. That is such a dumb assessment to make. Who cares if it's a brick or not. It always was and always will be one of the dumbest things people complained about with console design.
