I know that we should let U4 be the end of Drake's story but PS5 needs Drake in some form or another.

PS5 cannot go on without him showing up. ND one more next gen please!

No interest in any more Uncharted games with the current cast, if they make a new one give us a whole new crew. Maybe set in a different time period, too?

I'll take a Chloe Uncharted game, sure. Though I feel like they'll need to mix things up a bit to make it interesting. The wide-linear approach from 4 was pretty cool, and the big open zone in Lost Legacy was basically the pinnacle of that and I really enjoyed it... but another game just from that template? Meh. And I say that as one of the weirdos that actually enjoyed the climbing sections on those games.

Sam on the other hand... please no. I know Troy Baker has to appear in every game by law at this point, but can we please not? He was alright in Lost Legacy because his appearance was rather short and he just got 'added' to the party instead of being the main sidekick. But even in Uncharted 4 I got rather tired of him pretty quickly and as a main character... that would probably severely hamper my interest in that game.

I'd be all about more games with Chloe, Sam, and Nadine. Lost Legacy was such a perfectly fun game. Definitely was noticable that it was done on a limited budget, but I adored it.

Hopefully with that rumored new first party studios Sony is setting up, we get an awesome Uncharted game for the PS5.

Nah, I'm kinda getting tired of Sam. I wouldn't mind another Uncharted with Chloe again, but I'm all for Uncharted 5 with these two.

Unless you age them up by about 15 years....hell no.

People are waaaaay too hard on Sam. One great thing about Sam is he doesn't feel as squeeky clean as Nate and Chloe do, which makes the murdering of tons and tons of pirates and merceneries a little easier to swallow. Personally I think it would be really neat if they went with multiple protagonists in the next game. Sully / Nadine / Chloe / Sam / Cutter each having chapters could be pretty interesting. If not that, maybe some other way to split the game up that feels a bit different. Another idea that crossed my mind was the length of Lost Legacy and how refreshing it was. What about a double feature? Make a game starring Chloe and a game starring Sam and then wrap the two up with some epilogue that brings the two together as a pair. Something like that. I truly hope they never bring Nathan back though. He's had enough.

Where Uncharted goes next, and who leads the cast, is definitely up in the air now, after the success of Lost Legacy, Chloe, Sam, Nadine and Sully can all be involved in some fashion.

I think op is probably right though. Chloe and Sam would make the most sense. I can see one of them learning about some ancient hidden treasure that nobody's ever found, and calling on the other's help to go solve the mystery.

Personally I'd like to see Chloe stay as the player character from now on.

I want Chloe and Cassie together, God Of War style (In character dynamic, not gameplay), with Cassie running away for adventures and getting taught the ways by Chloe. Plot Twist, Chloe has totally told Nate and Elena already, and she's keeping her safe throughout the game.

I'm all for it! Chloe is a fan favorite since forever. And they made Sam really funny in Lost Legacy. Bring Cutter back too and keep rocking the Uncharted franchise, Sony.

I hope they stick with Chloe as the main character. I actually liked Sam but my issue there is the prologue already referenced him and Sully. There's just something about knowing a character must survive a death-defying adventure that kind of spoils it for me. I mean, obviously we know that your character always survives ultimately, but I think there's a difference between that and having the absolute certainty that they make it through.

I hope they ditch Nadine, though. Such a fucking boring character. Chloe and Cutter, or even a new companion, would be my preference.

Wouldn't mind Sam.

Didn't like The Lost Legacy much at all so would prefer it wasn't Chloe or Nadine again.

No. Make it about Cassie and change the gameplay to allow for more puzzle-solving, etc. The series is way too stale to continue like this.

As someone who liked Sam a lot, I hope he's gone for good. Don't want to switch from Nate to his brother.

I don't want Cassie either. Chloe is perfect to carry on the franchise.

I think it will be an slighty older Cassie which would allow Nathan to be in it in some form or fashion. I have no interest in Chloe, Nadine, or Sam. I'd rather they start over from scratch than continue with them.

Nope, the sales of Lost Legacy (even considering a smaller marketing push) have shown that people want for Nate to be the main star. I think it's going to be a while before we get another Uncharted game.

I thought Chloe and Nadine were fantastic in Lost Legacy, and had great charisma and rapport together. I would be more than happy if they were at the forefront of another couple of instalments.

I think the chances we won't see Nate in another Uncharted game (wherever it be prequel/sequel/soft reboot) is slim to none. I don't know how keen I am on Sam without Nate though.

Do you access to total revenue generated in comparison to total development and marketing budget to make the assertion?

There's no way we can make these kind of assumptions from The Lost Legacy. It was a smaller game which began life as a DLC expansion, it clearly had a far smaller marketing budget than its predecessor and what's more we have no idea how well it sold nor what its expectations were. Plus aren't spin-offs notoriously worse selling than mainline numbered titles?!

It would be nice to have a game where Nate daughter is all grown up and must solve the dissaparence of her family and friends with the help of Chloe and some new character.

At some moment would be nice to have flashback chapter where you control Nate before their kidnapping and something like that.

At the you find them but its too late and everybody is already dead.

Usually spinoffs sell worse yes, not to mention TLL was given away for free for anyone who bought the season pass for Uncharted 4.

I'd rather it focus on Chloe from now on. Love her character. I would be cool with a game with old Chloe and Nathan's daughter as she begins the family hunting tradition but with Drake himself never mentioned if they have to bring the Drakes back into it

The only character I liked in the series was Chloe im TLL.
So I really hope we'll get new characters.

That is my point as well. If VGchartz is to be believed then the global LTD sales (physical copies) is around 2 million. Given the significant amount of times the digital version has been on sale on PSN, one can assume it sold well there too.

I felt that making Uncharted LL a smaller but independent project instead DLC was to test the viability of Chloe as a protagonist as well as efficacy of the studio on a smaller budget, (comparatively) smaller scope and shorter development time.

Furthermore, the appeal of having Chloe (or even Sam or Sully) as a protagonist ought to be greater after a notable amount of time has passed post TLoU Pt II launch. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Come on people, it's kind of obvious that any numbered sequel will most likely be the daughter with Nate serving as the Sully role.

Chloe and Nadine were good for a spin-off, but I don't think either of them are charismatic enough to be the new leads of Uncharted. The rapport between the two wasn't nearly as strong as the chemistry shared between Nate and Sully, and Nadine in particular is pretty flat personality wise, despite TLL's best attempts to prove otherwise. Sam is supporting material and nothing more. He's (intentionally) the less affable, less attractive of the Drake brothers, and definitely not a leading man.

If there's going to be more Uncharted, then a completely new protagonist or a prequel starring a younger Sully is the way to go I think.

Agreed. I just finished LL (finally). I'll likely do a LTTP thread later on, but I worried about Nadine being our partner because I hated her in UC4, especially how she got off scot-free despite everything she and her mercs did. But, even as an ally she was just boring and flat. Honestly, LL isn't really a well written game, it favors Chloe to a massive degree but even her story arc isn't that fleshed out. Meanwhile, Nadine's arc is mostly absent until the very end of the game when we confront Shoreline and a whole new sub-villain is introduced just before he's killed to give Nadine something to do.

I know some people don't like Sam, I wasn't particularly fond of him in UC4. But, when he arrived in LL he really elevated my enjoyment of the game because he brought some much needed levity towards the character interactions. Chloe just plays off better with him than serious and stern Nadine. I get that Nadine is supposed to be the "straight man," but the straight man has to setup the jokes for the comedic partner. However, it's mostly just Chloe bantering and Nadine grudgingly responding. Sam just plays better as a partner.

I think the series could work best with Chloe as the new lead, but as someone else echoed in the thread, they need to find some better writers to make her unique. I agree that at times it just felt as though they were writing Drake and just swapped him with Chloe. She needs to be her own unique brand with a slightly darker edge than Drake. Also, where the fuck is Cutter?!

Come on people, it's kind of obvious that any numbered sequel will most likely be the daughter with Nate serving as the Sully role.

Boring.

If Uncharted is going to continue, it should probably be entirely new characters, really.

I think I'd still prefer Uncharted 5: DAUGHTER OF UNCHARTED, but I'd be completely down for Chloe taking over, Lost Legacy rocked.

I'm actually kind of excited to see where the franchise goes next.
