Note: by short-lived I mean cancelled or ended prematurely.

Recently I've been getting into animated shows that never saw past a single season or even a few episodes. Some of my favorites include Sym-Bionic Titan, Gravity Falls, and Thundercats 2011.

What are some of your favorites?

Having finally and very recently watched proto-Archer aka Frisky Dingo, I'd sure love some more of that.

But if that did happen, there's a good chance we never get Archer...so maybe it's a good thing?

Cliffhanger ending too I mean come on.

Welcome to Eltingville.

I seemed to recall The Dating Guy being good, but that was 2011 so who knows if that's still true.

As excellent as it was, Gravity Falls wasn't cancelled prematurely. It got a second season that wrapped everything up nicely.

For me, I would say Cybersix. It had a full season but it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, and the second planned season was cancelled.

I remember loving the hell out of Cybersix back in the day. Only lasted one season with thirteen episodes.

It holds up remarkably well aside from the episode where two Japanese characters are drawn in a racist fashion.

Over the Garden Wall remains one of my all time favs. Feels like something ripped from 50 years ago that obscurely gets played at Christmas. So beautiful and melancholic.

The music was incredible too:

I wish Adult Swim would have stuck with airing repeats, I used to watch it every night even if there were only a handful of episodes.
I've owned the series on DVD for over 10 years. Totally worth it. I recommend, if you haven't already, tracking down the unaired (it's unfinished) episode and the script readings for the other unaired ep. Good stuff.

Nobody ever talks about Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. It was some quality post-apocalyptic dinosaur environmentalism.
