You're good, you just have to wait for the patch to hit.

Yep, just boot it up, download the updates and you're good to go.

Right, you just need to update the game.

As others have said you're good to go! Check the links for the previous updates at the bottom of the OP to see what's changed between then and now.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to this. Glad I didn't trade this in

I kinda feel the hype a bit coming around but it's good to see some of this leaked footage because even though it looks pretty cool (I'm really stoked for the larger draw distance and much better sense of scale), it still looks very much like No Man's Sky (unsurprisingly so), in terms of some jankyness here and there. Even though it's not really spoilery, I'll put it under tags -
the still kinda static look of the station and its inhabitants, everybody standing still (although feels much more like an actual busy place than before), the clouds probably won't always looks as nice as the trailer (I guess depending on the time of day, weather conditions etc.), the creatures at least look very similar in construction (as in, maybe no major overhaul in the assets this time around) and the inventory is what it is (although it was mentioned somewhere that you should be able to drag & drop more easily I suppose).

Anyway, I'm not bashing on it, just making some observations. I'm really dreading the performance hits this update might make on PC, the current version is flimsy as is on my rig, I'll really be bummed out if it gets even more demanding, but here's hoping!

Also I really like this option from the customization menu

I wonder if there's any significance for the creature having 'blue blood'? It seems a random thing to put in there.

In some ways it's like a walking simulator. Other times it's like a space sim. Sometimes its a bit like Minecraft. It's very difficult to gauge if people will like it. What I will say is that there is at least 30 hours of solid, linear gameplay there. So even if you don't like the sandbox stuff on its own, there's enough value there for most people I think.

I have no idea how Next will alter things - but things like community missions, and MP quests, and the intriguing frigate system, on top of what's already there, suggest there'll be plenty of stuff to 'do' at least.

Thanks so much for sharing that. Guess I'm just going to have to dive in with an open mind and experience what this game has to offer.

Interesting, looks like we can now overload the jetpack for temporary increase in boosting power. I wonder if they finally (and sadly) got rid of the melee jetpack glitch?

They better not have, or at least made the equivalent as good. Used that everywhere.

Wow, I am aesthetically pleased by this planet in a way I haven't been so far. The scale doesn't feel super minified like usual. The size of those trees are GREAT. Draw distance is awesome. Love the look of the hills in the background. No ugly landmasses stuck out to me when watching that... My jeesus I can't wait to see them reddit screens.

So is this the kind of game where you can spend hours on a single planet or are you supposed to be hopping from place to place?

Both, I've spent hours on one planet (and with the expanded base building and buried treasure there's even more reason to) but likewise you'll be going from place to place to find materials and resources you need and, well, see what's out there. Planets are a single biome so finding somewhere you want to settle might take a few, and they can be very varied. You can also now build more than one base, so I'd say 'both' is more accurate with this update than ever before.

Kind of both, depending on what you're doing. In short, I'd say most people hop around most of the time, but also go back to their home base to build it up, upgrade it, farm/grow plants to sell and stuff like that. Since they'll apparently be dramatically increasing the possibilities of base building and with added multiplayer, I can see people spending a lot of time on one planet and making it their "home" of sorts.

Quicksilver is the new money i guess you earn for community stuff.

Yeah, funny it's just the upside down version of the credits symbol. :)

Either, or.

Depends what you enjoy.

It's up to you really. I tend to grab a handful of missions and spend ages on one planet but lots of people spend more time in space.

Thanks for the answers. I think I'd want to spend a lot of time in my starting place but don't want to feel punished for it.

I've wanted to jump in for a while so this seems like a good time.

Really excited to jump back in after this update.

For those that have been playing through the last updates is there a way to teleport back to your base or something?

Every space station has a teleporter, just choose the first option (it says the name of the planet/system and "(your base)" at the end).

And how many of my brothers and sisters will starve themselves of NEXT spoilers until they play themselves? I for one will not be viewing ANY streams or videos ahead of Tuesday.

I have the rest of the Octopath Traveler Demo to finish, the last fourth of Red Faction Guerrilla Remarstered, Zelda and Mario. So I've got my distractions ready.
