So I've recently converted. I'm play GT Sport right now and as a former Forza exclusive racing sim guy I am struggling to think of something Forza does better other than the car list. I avoided the GT series like the plague because the handling in 5 felt all wrong, car sounds and Forza 4 just had such a wide variety of car brands and car types. Now I can say since two of the 3 have been fixed Forza is living on borrowed time for me. Once weather and more cars come to Sport or GT7 drops with a half decent car list I won't to play Forza any more. Kind of makes me sad actually.

In terms of an online racer it's the best current game on consoles as well due to the driver rating system etc. The game is so fun to play and the handling model is superb.

Tyre model. The tyres in GTS are horrible. Forza is hardly king of the hill, but the handling in GTS is really strange.

Getting the ass to kick out and slithering feels more realistic in Forza, I agree. But the suspension and body roll stuff is so good in GTS. I was shocked.

I actually physically cringed a bit reading this post. You don't have to take sides, just play whatever you want. Or play both! Shockingly, this is something thats possible. I don't want to sound mean, but it's tiring to constantly have comparisons when both games are so different in their scope currently.

The mileage store is under utililised.

When it comes to existing basics like driver poses, shouldn't they have hundreds of those by now? How hard can it be. They aren't integral to the game but it's something to collect and use up your mileage points.

PD really need to introduce rear wings, splitters, official bodykits. Eve fun little things like cockpit stickers, ornaments and such. Nothing ridiculous, just extra customisation and collectibles.
Even the small things like you mentioned require people to build and implemment in the game. These models don't create themselves. With a sparse car list that GT Sport already has, would you want a 3d modeler to create more bumper stickers or create more cars and tracks to add to the roster.

Just to add to my post. I would like more customisation options just like any other gamer who is a racing fan but at this moment in tike getting more tracks and cars is more important imo.

I have an X and Forza does have great image quality and graphics, but yeah I do like Sport at this point better. Of course I can't have all my Ferrari's in Sport though, which kind of sucks. But as a whole it's a super polished and sophisticated take on racing to me. New penalty system is much much better than before, and online is unmatched by any racer.

he's not necessarily taking sides, but sometimes you can play a game that makes another feel pretty much defunct. i played dirt rally and it make the WRC games seem trash for instance. CAN i play them both? sure! do i want to at this point? no!

The reason I got into Xbox was because of Forza. Such was the gap between the series for me. So yeah I can play both and still do but I don't see it lasting because of the parity of visuals and gameplay. Just a personal thing, which box under the TV got turned on at night after work and had hours dumped into it just needlessly trying to improve lap times. It's weird I know, forming a connection with software, kinda like forming one with your car. Crazy I know.

They need to do more generic items that can be used on multiple cars. I recall in past Forza's they had a few options for rear wings. Some don't even necessarily need to be visual upgrades such as brakes. It doesn't make much sense to double the power of certain cars without better stopping power.

This would also need to be factored into BoP for online races. Or like tyre upgrades - they may just ban their use.

What happened to that new tire model that they used in one of the tournaments? That would be the biggest improvement on the game more than any track, rain, or new cars. Their current model has so many flaws. Also, please fix the 90% of MR cars that have zero front end.

It's still coming but I'm guessing they're making adjustments based on feedback from the Nurburgring FIA players.

From a guy who got invited by Polyphony for the Nurburgring World Tour championship.

  • The Tyre Model is more predictable on corner entry, and much trickier on corner exit. Any aggressive Wheel or Pedal movements are now much more likely to step the car out. That's really the best way I can sum it up.
  • Those who complain about the current ABS might want to get excited.
  • Kaz wants cars to spin in car collisions more easily
  • Group 3 MR balance is a known issue and is being looked at.
  • The new tyre model won't be put in as is.

To be fair the car list is a huge thing to me. Buying janky used cars in the older GTs was so cool to me as a kid. I'm not sure if we'll ever get that in a GT7 or a Sport update, but I really hope so.

About 3 months ago Kaz reconfirmed it's still coming. We're just all waiting.

Dev team was debating on whether to do it dynamic or not and most likely decided against dynamic.

hhttps://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/rain-confirmed-more-cars-and-tracks-coming-soon.377254/
IMO or they go full dynamic weather and TOD like GT5/GT6 or just back everything... a semi "dynamic" system like others racers is bad.

I hope they can port the awesome dynamic weather/TOD found in GT5 into GTS.

The only thing I don't like about this game is how slow some of the production cars feel. The racing stuff feels amazing! The sense of speed is great and I can understand (even tho Ive only dabbled) why people say the online is so good. Still gonna 60mph doesn't feel like going 60mph and it throws off when to actually brake and how much etc...

I hope GT7 can improve upon this and of course just be a much bigger game at launch. Maybe PD will finally get it together and actually launch PS5 with GT7 lol.

Sport is good for the rest of the gen tho, super happy with updates! Easily 9/10 game now for me.

Sense of speed correlates to how close you are to the ground. Going 60 in a low sports car is way different than 60 in a big rig. In a big rig 60feels so much slower because you're higher up. That's why the chase cam feels slower than the hood cam, the chase cam is above the car.

Not to mention it doesn't add unrealistic blur and shaking like arcade racers do.

You are also likely driving those production cars with far stickier tires get ever would have. Put on some comfort tires and try to fly through the series of lefts after Bergwerk on the ring and you will feel the speed. Also, drive cockpit view.

Tks for the tips fellas, will try it tonight. Cockpit helps in some cars but my main view is, Hmmm I dunno what its called. First person? lol its when all you see in front of you is the road. Seems to help me race better anyway, cock-pit is the coolest but I can't see anything!

Would be great if they added an F1 chasis, when they announced a livery editor was coming to GT it's one small thing I was hoped for, means we should get a full grid with the community replicating the real world F1 liveries.

Top left is a Daihatsu Copen.
Mid left looks like a Honda Beat.
Mid right looks like a Honda S660.

Kei convertibles. I can tell we're getting a new GT League race.

I'd love to see current F1 liveries reimagined or maybe modern takes on classic liveries like the 91 Jordan or the 96 Jordan or the 98 Jordan or the 2001 Jordan or...

...basically I wanna see a lot of Jordan liveries on a current generation F1 car.

I'm guessing the middle is a Formula GT based on a Lewis Hamilton Mercedes.

The Ford GT could be the Gas Monkey Garage GT.

I was hoping this was going to be a big spec update with new features, but based on the small number of cars this time it seems like it'll be a normal thing.

787 and a modern Ford GT?

I'm ready.

I know people cry about road cars but I personally couldn't give a shit. Just give us more cars that can be used in sport mode and in online racing.

Edit: scratch that it's not a modern Ford GT... Boooooo.

For the comfort and sports tires (aka road tires) I agree with you but as far as the racing tire model goes it flips the other way. The sports and comfort tires in GT are in desperate need of an overhaul. It's like they didn't bother doing anything with them for this game. Road tires in this game would make you think that driving a modern road car is akin to sliding a bar of soap along an oiled pavement of ceramic.

As much as I know it's not true I hope there is a second lot of cars scheduled for this update. :(
