MK8 Deluxe BOTW Kart and Outfit coming!

I've been waiting for Deluxe DLC since the game released last year but until that twitter post a few days ago I had given up hope entirely. BotW Link and the Master Cycle Zero is cool, but I hope we get more in the future (at least some Odyssey costumes for Mario, Peach and Bowser if they want to add some smaller stuff).
Can someone please datamine this update immediately. I need to know if there are some new hints towards future content.

The only reason Smash doesn't have an ARMS fighter is because its roster was finalized as early as December 2015 (long before ARMS was revealed, let alone released), & Sakurai has a history of not hedging his bets on new IPs that haven't proven themselves at the time. I'd be shocked if ARMS didn't get a rep added to Smash via DLC.
This and Waluigi Pinball are my biggest wants for retro stages. They would look insane in HD and with the wild anti-gravity stuff.
Also Maple Treeway pls for an orchestrated version of that song.
The other thing with Pikachu is that The Pokémon Company is notoriously stingy when it comes to crossovers (Ex: They don't allow Sakurai to use shiny colors in Smash, even going as far as to having him remove Shiny Mewtwo from Smash Wii U/3DS despite it being in the reveal trailer). To their credit, TPCi has gotten a bit better about that in recent years. But any Pokémon representation in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is far from a guarantee.
You do have a point on Spring Man, though.
To be fair, we do have a comment from Sakurai on the matter of the project plan.
Actually the one new feature I want most is the ability to turn down sound effects and turn up the music. This game has fucking amazing music that you can barely hear.
Did they outright say the roster was finalized? I thought it was the concept for the game, which I'm not sure if that includes a finalized roster or not.
Then again I doubt they knew of Corrin when they were at that stage with SSB WiiU/3DS.
I wonder how they'd adjust the character select screen if they added new characters. It's pretty much at its limits
It's an alt costume for Link and some parts. The Mercedes update added just as many parts.
I feel the complete opposite! More non Mario representation, please! The closer it is to Smash Kart, the happier I'll be :)
Extra characters from the Nintendo universe is a weird thing to complain about, Cupertino.
That's great. I wish they would also make Zelda playable. BOTW would also make an interesting track concept since it's so open. I wonder what a BOTW race track would look like that kept the "openness" concept of the original game?
I would like to see more DK characters in Mario Kart too, like Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, & King K. Rool. Pauline should also be added driving a New Donk Taxi!

As long as Mario Kart outsells the main series games, it will still be called Mario Kart, but yeah, I'm fine with new reps outside the Mushroom Kingdom.
New kart, wheels and glider. They look great, but don't handle in a way that fits my playstyle. Just did 150cc Mushroom Cup and won handily, but I'm more of a Luigi B-Dasher guy.
It's free content, so unless if you are going to disable updates to the game, it's coming to you.

Sure, Mario Kart 8 CAME WITH my Wii U, but I still feel iffy about the double charge. It's fair, but I thought $60 was pushing it.

This is almost literally a perfect game. So fun to jump back in.
I'd be morrrrrrrrrrre than happy with just a huge expansion update and just ride out with MK8 for the whole Switch life. Imagine if they didn't have to do anything but make new characters and stages? They could crank out 30 new stages in a fraction of the time. It would be the biggest MK game ever made.

I only think they should be free as to not segment the playerbase. If they want some premium stuff, they can always do costumes or something
They blew all the Mario points they had on babies and Koopa Kids.

I love that BotW Link is taking over. Such a great design. I guess I have a new main for MK now lol.

With them updating MK8D, I'm not sure about MK9 at the moment.
Releasing an expansion next to Nintendo Online would be a great incentive to sub to it.

For new Mario characters Captain Toad is a safe bet with how he would be easier to add. I can see Cappy, Pauline, and Broodals all in there along with new versions of Mario, Peach, and Bowser based on Odyssey.

Not really. Just a black skin that's inspired by it, but isn't.
