Possible Benchmark for A12 Processor From 2018 iPhone Surfaces Featuring 10% Faster Speeds, 4GB RAM

Uploaded to Geekbench 4 on June 27 (via French site iGeneration), the benchmark for the 2018 iPhone suggests a single-core score of 4673 and a multi-core score of 10912.

Comparatively, the iPhone X with an A11 processor features a single-core score of 4206 and a multi-core score of 10128, indicating the new A12 chip will be approximately 10 percent faster than the A11 chip when it comes to both multi-core and single-core performance.
Is this the smallest boost YoY for the A chips?

You know what would be cool? If  decided to make the new iPhones in various colors just like their old iPod mini's. I would kill for a Green one.

Glad to see 4GB is looking likely. My games have reloaded more than usual this past year (noticeably worse than on my 7+ with iOS 10).

I thought the X/8/8 Plus's GPU was done entirely in house?

You are correct! I think this was on my brain because even though it's Apple-designed there wasn't much of a bump versus the PowerVR stuff, and this year I expected a much bigger bump with their second-gen GPU.

Which if those benchmarks are true, is totally the case

I know this is raining on the parade, but the X is totally limited by what colors they can get the glass and the stainless steel edges. I'm confident that's why we didn't get a red iPhone X, it's way easier to make aluminum red than stainless steel

Is it? There was a leaked gold iPhone X that was going to release as per an FCC photo. Bummer.

I'm not saying other colors are impossible, I'm just saying it limits what color options you have. I could see them getting that blush gold pretty easily, but anything deep and rich would be a lot harder
Dang lol. Well I prefer the aluminum anyways. Looks and feels better. They should go back to that if they can figure out wireless charging and metal :P

Is the back color of the iPhone X actually the color of the glass, or just a color underneath the glass with clear glass over it?

Because I do love the X's black front and metal sides, but if they could make the rear color whatever they wanted that would be pretty sweet.
Although I did try out a dbrand skin for the first time with my S9 and was pleasantly surprised by how great it looked and felt (and protected my glass back from getting scratched). I'll probably do that with the X2 since that's probably going to be my next phone (I'll be selling my S9 once i can unlock it from my carrier).

I should further clarify: the glass isn't the issue, it's the stainless steel around the edges.

Apple's got a lot of money, but they can't change physics. They could go to a plastic back instead of glass but that will literally never happen so glass is here.

I actually don't know what the color situation is with the back glass, sorry. They can make it different colors (so far we have the glass on black, white, blush gold, and red) so I imagine plenty of other shades are possible as well. The issue is the steel around the edges. They like the edges to match the back it seems.

Afaik the color is on a layer under the glass, so I'd reckon the stainless steel is the issue. That gold X looked so hot though with the all black front. I'd be all over it if it happens.

I've never had enough courage to get a colored iPod/iPhone even though I love the look of them. Always feared that I would get bored of the color like a week later and then regret it / want a different color.

So I just stick with the standard black almost every time.

Besides their own marketing ideas for a flagship iPhone, 6, 7, 8 colors is stock management hell for a product in this level of price where it isn't so easy to clear unwanted stock, or desirable at all to have unwanted stock to begin with. For $1K, people usually want they want, and won't settle for simply what's in store, especially with strong and divisive colors. Between white, gray, black, silver, they may settle.

Get a slightly personalized body color from 2-4 choices, and then colorize it with a case, I think it's a good deal, you can even change your mind afterwards. I barely ever see what color my iPhone X is.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and I feel like getting a smaller phone. Since the iPhone X is -reportedly- the best phone you can get in 2018 and its size seems perfect, should I purchase one now or am I better off waiting for the next model?

This is how I buy cars as well.

Unless your phone is dying or broken, I'd just wait at this point.

I want them to ship with preinstalled tempered glass form fitting screen and back protector. Then if you crack it you can get it removed and a new one applied in-store for maybe $50.

Is there a percentage your battery needs to be at for fast charging? Sometimes it fast charges but sometimes it doesn't and I have no idea why? Will it only fast charge starting at under 20% or something?

Hey folks. Picked up the X last month upgrading from an iPhone 6. How many years do you think I could get out of this phone before needing to upgrade? Also,is your X ever laggy?

Does anyone know why I can access all my photos on icloud.com but can't see them on my iPhone?

I've been messing around with settings but can't seem to get it to work. I don't know why this is still an issue in 2018, wow.

My iPhone 6 has finally given out, and since I don't want to spend any more money repairing it, I'm going to borrow an old iPhone 5 from my sister for the next couple months.

Switching to a new model is going to be so, so very satisfying.

Have you tried signing out of your iCloud on the phone? Sometimes signing out rather just turning the setting off then back on fixes the issue.
