Well, like the article and OP said, the President is going to talk about his team about the potential and the possibility of these questionings to happen. Now of course the President even mulling over the potential is beyond concerning, and rightfully so (no one is saying otherwise), yet nothing has actually happened yet. If something does happpen though, then yes, democrat leaders (and America-loving Republican leaders as well, as this should be a non-partisan call to action) absolutely must raise hell. The U.S. President's number 1 obligation, regardless of who they are, must first and foremost be to the United States of America and the American people, period. Any deviation absolutely needs action.
That's the problem.

That has always been the problem.

"Let's see what happens."

Russia attacked the United States of America. The President is entertaining the idea of handing over American civilians to the government of Russia. ARREST THIS FUCKER.

No U.S. agency should comply with any order to extradite a US Ambassador to Russia, because lets be honest that is basically what this is.

how far will this go until impeachment talks seriously get going in congress?

I'll explain it again.

Donald Trump has 90% approval with republican voters. That's a historic high for in-party support, topped only by bush following 911.

Republicans in congress will never do anything substantive against him unless that number comes way down, and the chances of that happening any time soon are very low.

You're ignoring that actual numbers of Republicans have greatly dropped, even more so since Trump took office. So you have more fanatical people left.

If this is about Bill Browder, then this is sad.

*edit*

yep

The United States has been one of the few countries that has consistently defended Browder against Kremlin attacks over the last 5 years. He's been illegally detained in almost every country around Europe, because Russia has abused their Interpol status to compel Interpol to arrest him, hold him for 12-24 hours, and then finally release him of course with no charges because the Kremlin charges are all ridiculous (Literally, Russia charge's Browder with the death of his own lawyer, who was killed by Russians while he was held without charges and starved/tortued in a Russian prison, while Browder was 3,000 miles away). The only Western country that this consistently hasn't happened in, is the US, which has consistently called Russia's bull shit Interpol abuse tactics. Reversing this would be a travesty.

If you're not familiar with Browder's story, I'd suggest listening to Preet Barahra's interview with him from ~2016 or 2017. He's ben a frequent guest on other shows too, but it's a good interview in general:

The Death of Sergei Magnitsky (With Bill Browder): https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/death-sergei-magnitsky-bill-browder/

If you like this episode, I'd recommend following that up with Preet's interview with Garry Kasparov: https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/putin-pawns-and-propaganda-garry-kasparov/

I hope Mueller or McFaul aren't game to this at all. I expect to see them to die in Russia due to polonium poisoning or being found dead in a car. You know that Trump wouldn't have agreed to this if he didn't expect something like that to happen.

The US elected a damn pathetic person as President. Despite being the "leader" of the most powerful country in the world and having a nearly unshakable base supporting him this fool continues to act like a damn puppet. If he had a hint of courage he should just fucking ignore whatever bullshit Putin and co have on him and yell fake kompromat 24/7. Though I imagine that there is a bit of greed involved too.

The American public would never stand for this...right?

By and large, thankfully, the US has been the one Western country that hasn't stood by while Russia abused their Interpol status to attack and disparage Browder.

Trump's base will do whatveer he wants, but reasonable minded Americans haven't stood for it before, and hopefully they won't going forward. A problem here is also that Russian espionage bots are starting a campaign to convince Americans that Browder donated $400,000 to the Hillary Clinton campaign. This is a lie and it's not true. Browder donated no money to Clinton, if anything, Browder is a neoconservative.

But the disinformation campaign has started against Browder.

PSA: If you read any stories about Bill Browder donating $400,000 or $400,000,000* to Hillary Clinton they are lies spread by Russian intelligence bots to try to soften Americans up to attacking Bill Browder, one of the world's chief Putin/Kremlin critics

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-pants-fire-claim-about-400-million-donation/

*$400,000,000 -- Literally the Russian kremlin bots are spreading false rumors that Browder donated $400million to Clinton's campaign......... 400 million. ...... They toned that back to $400,000 because the million number was even too ridiculosu for them.

Keep stroking yourself while ignoring national protests, Trump losing the popular vote, Russia aiding him, etc. At least you can waltz in here braying about and manage to gain a feeling of self importance. You clearly need it.

Let's just get this out of the way: Republicans don't love America. They're all supporting this man either because they actually like him and want to follow him, or are too shit of people to stand up and say anything.

Republicans love themselves. They love their "ideal" America, one without liberals. As such, I agree, they don't love America. At least not the current party in charge or anybody still supporting Trump. Trump is the president of Republicans.

Dude, spare us your sanctimonious bull shit, please, because it doesn't help. Virtually nobody still on this forum, or in these threads, voted for Donald Trump, most of us have attended protests and rallies against him, donated money to candidates and causes against him, and work hard every day to oppose his presidency and return some sanity to the White House.

Unlike you, this is a story (Browders) I've been following closely for years. You just heard about it today because it's a thread on your favorite videogame forum. I petitioned my congressmen and senators to support the Magnitsky Act five years ago, back before smug people like you gave a shit about Putin or Russia, when Russia was a punchline for a joke during the US Presidential Debates (meanwhile, they were gassing up the tanks to roll into a European democracy to overthrow their government while the rest of Europe hemmed and hawed about how Putin would never do such a thing -- he's preparing to host the Olympics!).

We don't need some sanctimonious smug internet genius calling us a joke in every thread. It's not doing anymore to get rid of Trump or to slow down the spread of far-right populism in North America and Europe.

Yeah, it's getting quite tiresome. It's especially lazy for the armchair revolutionists to criticize others for not doing the rioting for them.
