Castlevania Harmony of Despair is amazing and would be nice to have on modern platforms

I never played it and I honestly had no objection to it when it was release.
That being said, it's announcement came out of no where. And in hindsight it was the end of Castlevania.
Had I known there wouldn't be another (real) Castlevania, I would have taken the time to play it.

I agree, when you leave the graphics aside you have a fun as hell game, the formula just works. It's like a 2D PSO.

Would rather have a remaster bundle of the DS games.

Id love it, absolutely. Only ever got a chance to play it co op with a friend once which really saddens me. Was always against the idea of playing with random people online because I had a few friends who were into the series and I really wanted to play with them but they were all on ps3 at the time and by the time the game came to ps3 they had all moved on. :(

Ive sorta given up hope for this, similar to Guardian Heroes HD, it'll probably die on last gen systems.

It's a great game. I remember them dropping the DLC chapters randomly on 360, and the hype that came from waiting for each new one.

I must have spent over a thousand hours across both 360 and PS3. The stages are super fun to go through, and that moment at the end, were you get all tense at which loot drop you will get, never got old. Still need my Sonic Boots on PS3 lol. Beelzebub never dropped them!

Konami sitting on a gold mine of HD/4K remake/remasters.

I tried playing it local with a couple of friends but it was kind of a mess because they tried to handle it by preventing you from zooming in. Also I remember being really disappointed in Shanoa not handling like she does in her own game.

All of those 3DS era Castlevanias should get a port.

Loved it back then, would love for a sequel or sorts. Switch seems like a perfect console to play this type of game on the go locally with other players.

Finally, someone not bad mouthing Harmony of Dissonance. I mean, really it always seems to get so much hate when its a perfectly serviceable game.

If Konami was smart the would port this game to current gen systems with more content. But they won't because they are Konami.

Yea it's great. Been waiting on backwards compatibility forever. Getting 6 people in a stage is fun af.

Has some great remixed songs, Heart of Fire is my go to boss song.

The title works better in Japan where Harmony of Dissonance was called Concerto of the Midnight Sun.

3DS only got Mirror of Fate.

I think I sunk like 80 hours or so into this.

Loved this game.

Yes! I loved this game so much. I easily put 200 hours into it. Had the retro castlevania glitch and boss down to a science on hard mode with richter. Bought all the dlc. I hope we see a sequel some how some day.

Circle of Moon isn't the best, but it was my first so it holds a special place in my heart.

I played this a lot and would love to see an evolved version of it. It was so much fun during the first month this came out. When you got a good team together we'd grind the hell out of each level for hours. It was fun using all the characters and finally getting that rare item you've been working for.

Unfortunately after a couple months the player base dwindled and it became very difficult to get a full crew. Also players got picky with their crew and booted you if you weren't pulling your weight. I had fun playing but I wasn't the best player. I got kicked out a lot from elitists who weren't patient with me. It stopped being fun and it felt like a chore to get a good group going.

Would love a Castlevania Collection like we've gotten with the Mega Man collections recently. Could split them into classic and Metroidvania and release separate collections. Would instantly buy both.

I got them in like 5 runs, first night the chapter dropped on 360 haha. On PS3...The RNG Gods weren't so kind.

Every time there's a big Japanese game sale on psn I check if this game, and more importantly the DLC is on sale, but the DLC never is, and it's pretty expensive when you add it all up. I'm not much of a MP guy but I'd still like to give this game a real go as I love Castlevania.

Heck yeah!! I loved this game! It was such a cool concept. Really wish more of my friends had picked it up.

Nah, it was a shitty/grindy and already gave everything it had to give (which wasn't that much). I hope it stays as a memory.

But hey, you get Grimoire of Souls.

Yep, on the elevator soma could glitch past most of the level at the tower, run down, pull the switch and let everyone else come up. You can do it with Richter as well, just takes reall good timing. Usually took me a few tries with getting the kick just right, but I got pretty good at it after awhile lol

This is the setup I know and can only do it with Richter.



You can do it with anyone if you fall and slide off the edge while in the recover animation like he does with the kick

God I love posts like this. It immediately establishes how deluded you are.

Their goldmine is pachinkos, not time and money spent creating and testing 4K ports of legacy castlevania games.

I'd love to see this game re-released. Or at least added to Xbox One Back Compat.

I always assumed it was on PC then learned it's not. I don't have my PS3 hooked up anymore, so a modern port would be good.

I used to destroy everything with my Richter. I don't regret buying the DLCs. Excellent game, I remember waiting for a PS3 port and it took like 2 or 3 years to release, it was TOUGH

I didn't like it at all. Didn't feel like a Castlevania game in any sense.

I'm bummed I missed this. I remember downlaoding the demo on 360 but I wasn't into Castlevania yet. I would love to play as Charlotte again.

I loved this game way more than I ever thought I would. It was my go-to podcast game for a few years after it's release. A rerelease on Switch with all DLC would be grand, but I'll settle for Konami just letting MS put it out on backwards compatible.

Got it day 1 for 360! Such a nice game, I didn't invest that much time though, mostly because I was hooked to other popular online games.

By the way, it's on sale during the Xbox Live Summer Sale which runs until July 31st.

I think X1 BC is probably the only hope for it, Imo. Konami won't bother porting Castlevania games. More money in Pachinko now, sadly. :(

Here's hoping. I loved both the concept and execution of it.

The game never clicked on me, just felt the game like a mugen from everything they could throw at the poor game.
