Correct this hate boner for EA is really reaching Poe's law Meme levels. I mean OP said Mass Effect to CDPR it doesn't get more Memey than that.None of them. They're what they are for where they're from. You sell most of those IPs to wildly different devs/publishers and chances are they will no longer be the same.
Mercenaries to Volition (They could use Red Faction Guerrilla influence)
Command and Conquer to Sega
Burnout to Codemasters
The Saboteur to Ubisoft so AC Origins team could make it in different historic eras. (Berlin after the WW2 involving the wall, Vietnam War etc)
Dead Space to Capcom
Ugh. Thanks. This is such a shame. They got the rights when they bought Free Radical. They also bought the rights to Homefront.
Free Radical had just released Haze and were working on Battlefront 3 and Timesplitters 4.
Instead of having Free Radical finish Timesplitters 4 (I'm sure BF3 had some IP issues) or even make a compilation remaster of 1, 2, and Future Perfect, Crytek said it was a financial risk and instead they had them make a more realistic FPS in the form of a Homefront sequel (even though the first Homefront wasn't a huge success and Free Radical's last realistic FPS, Haze, was a commercial failure). Before the game was even finished, Crytek had to sell off the studio and rights to it, making the entire thing a financial blunder and a huge shame we never got a Timesplitters remaster and sequel. Timesplitters Rewind also seems to be in development hell.
I don't see EA making a new Saboteur or Mercenaries or Dead Space. No one because it's stupid as hell just like the idea of the thread.
I don't see EA making a new Saboteur or Mercenaries or Dead Space.
So tell me, how is it stupid when they will never touch those IP's?
Are speculations or dreams stupid?
It's almost like playing video games...
Mass Effect to CDPR because those guys can ace it.
Command and Conquer to Sega so Relic can make it.
To you maybe. Not to most people as the thread proves. For this case, yes. It's stupid because it's never going to other companies.
YES
Isn't Time Splitters owned by EA? If so, that to anyone that will make it for Nintendo consoles.
.
The IP would fit Nintendo's catalog very well. I loved TS2 on GCN.Crytek owns it and I'm amused because in the past I suggested Nintendo buy it from them or pay for 2 exclusive sequels.

I guess if you don't go outside of Era you would not have seen it, but in the wider gaming community at large CDPR are worshiped as gods and can take any western RPG and make it better. Just Imagine how God of War is spoken about on this forum, but multiply it because the game is multi platform. This wonderful post also has the Joy of adding EA is bad to the meme sandwich. Also a popular "joke" in the gaming community.Except for burnout going to anyone except a ms dev, I don't think selling to another company will work.
What do you mean?
