Excited for another console Digimon game!

Update :

Details translated via gematsu

  • Your Choices Affect Digivolution and the Story – The choices you make during your adventure will change the development of the story, as well as the monsters you can Digivolve during battle. There are various possibilities. While conversation scenes use 2D illustrations, they are depicted with 3D-esque spatial presentation.
  • Explore Another World – The keys to the story are hidden at various points on the field. Point and click at locations of interest to investigate.
  • Simulation Battles Where Choice Determines Victory – Move your Digimon partners around the field and fight against enemies. During battle, "Energy" is used to perform actions, including Digivolution. Skillfully utilizing your Energy is the key to victory.

Looks like the failure of the last digimon persona-like game made them change their ambitions.

If I'm not mistaken this was in development a good while before Hacker's memory released. With the latter cited as being a game to tide the fans over until the next game is finished.
I assume that next game is this one.

EDIT: Though this could be a different project all together.

Holy shit, Digimon Survivor? The Yasuda influence finally paying off.

And for Switch too, goddamn, I'm excited.

Spain
If they do not try to do it again ''adult'' like Cyber Sleuth, it can be interesting.

I would not mind a Devil Survivor in the gameplay, but if it's edgy it will be an easy pass.

And as expected, Switch takes over from Vita as the portable version.

Interest piqued though. This is feeling like the early 2000s with the franchise branching out into whatever genre it can find.

I'm gonna hold off on judgement until I see this in action.

Hope they dub it like they did with Digimon World though.

I'll take anything I can get. They need to prime the Switch community with a Cyber Sleuth double pack as well.

The first mention of combining 2D and 3D and it being an SRPG made me envision a Digimon game where they got one of the SRW teams involved with glorious attack animations as a result.

Unfortunately that's never happening.

I really hope they put in some QoL enhancements because I love SMT but I can't get into Devil Survivor as it is too slow for me, to the point of falling asleep with my 3DS in hand. Fire Emblem was faster

Woah, so it's an SRPG? Do we know who's working on it? This definitely isn't what I was expecting based on what the producer teased around the release of Hacker's Memory.

EDIT: Almost definitely a different project, I guess.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, hopefully the point and click sections aren't the only way to do something in the environment and you can walk around between battles.
