I was thinking ... The multiplayer HAS to be a separate mode because those who have been playing for years and have great weapons will have an unfair advantage over anyone who have just started or have only been playing for a short time.

Why are those issues? Changing those elements fundamentally breaks the game. The only way to change these things is to remove any and all fuel requirements entirely.

Doesn't this assume that the multiplayer is PVP? I don't think we'll have much PVP, if any, and it will be primarily co-op.

The team's dedication to the game is unreal. Compared to, say, how EA handled Mass Effect Andromeda, completely abandoning it and getting nowhere close to fixing it? Hello Games deserves massive amounts of credit here.
